I also ordered bubbles for the ceremony, guestbook, flower girl and ring bearer books to go with their gifts, snorkel, mask and fin sets for the ring bearers (still trying to think of what else to get them), and I bought pants for my brother (one of the ring bearers) and ordered 2 shirts from Gap kids. I ordered 2 since I wasn't sure if he will grow before the wedding so I got one in his current size and one a size larger. They only had the pants in his current size so I hope there won't be an issue with those. They are pants, but have that loop where you can roll them up and turn them into long shorts. I figured if he gets taller and the pants are too short he can just leave them rolled up. They were $5 on clearance at Children's Place. The shirts were $9.99 each. Here is the link to the shirt: Shop clothes for women, men, maternity, baby, and kids at gap.com. | Gap I made my appointment for my first dress fitting for the end of August. I sent an email to a local DJ to find out the cost to put together an MP3 file of our reception music. We were having a hard time narrowing down the songs we want and some of the ones we picked are pretty long. I know a couple other brides on the board had this done so they could shorten songs and have it play continuously. I haven't heard back yet so we'll see what happens. Other than that I still need to go buy the materials to make our programs (haven't decided what style I'm going with yet), menus, and tags for our OOT bags and favors (if we have them) and placecards. I have some time for that though. I also need to get more ribbon to put on the shells for the ring bearers. I can't think of what else I have left to do at the moment, but I know there is more. I feel like my list keeps growing every day!

Is anyone else out there scared about the economy?

Even when she comes over, the kids are always right there - and they are VERY loud. I have two kids but they are never that loud. I think she is overwhelmed with her life and doing it all. She totally needs a break. When I was helping her move, I noticed her and her husband both talk VERY loud to eachother. I kept thinking, why are they shouting? I don't know, I am just disappointed in her lack of involvement. She was supposed to call the other BM's to tell them about the assembly day - and nope - she never called them. Whatever...I am just going to sit back and see how long it takes her to call me and when she asks why I haven't called I am going to tell her that lately when I talk to her she seems distracted and doesn't seem that interested in scheduling things or making plans, so I figured I would just stay away until she she was ready and that if something really important needed to get done, that I would just do it myself since she seems so preoccupied with everything else. Sorry for the rant. Both my MOH and BM have offered to help out with projects, but both of them live far from me. My MOH also just went back to work after being on maternity leave. Unfortunately, she is a nurse that works the weekend program so it is too hard to try and schedule things since I'm off on the weekends. My FI and his mom have been very helpful with the DIY projects so I've been lucky.

Wedding Party Gift Ideas
beachbride08 replied to Ellipse22's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
My BMs are getting swag bags. I bought their dresses which ended up being a lot cheaper than anticipated so I had some extra money to play with. I got my 2 BM and flower girl each a personalized beach bag, and so far have bought them flip flops and custom swarovski necklace and earrings to match their dress, picture album for BMs and frame for FG, a sundress for FG, and mani/pedi gift set from Bath & Body Works for BMs. I still want to get them a couple other things for the bag, but haven't decided what that will be yet. I guess when I come across something I will get it. Some ideas are beach towels, cover up, book/mag to read on the beach, gift card to sunglass hut or something to get some new shades, travel jewelry case, passport/ticket holder. I am also getting each of the BMs a gift certificate to the spa at the resort in Mexico that they can use for whatever service they want. My plan is to give them their bags at the shower (if I can get all the stuff before then) and then they will still get an OOT bag in Mexico. The spa gift certificate I will give to them there with a thank you card. I wanted to spend $150-200 per girl. -
Congratulations! There seems to be a trend of honeymoon babies on this forum.

I voted for #2, but you can always use a similar blue color to the Jamaica cake to go with the cake topper. I'm sure the baker may have some ideas as well.

They won't get the group rate now, since they didn't book with us, but that is their problem now. That sucks, but that is their problem for not booking earlier. We have people saying that they are coming, but haven't booked yet. We gave everyone until August 15 to send in their RSVP cards so I'm hoping the stragglers will get booked before then. My TA said that if they wait longer than that there may not be as many rooms available, or flight options. We'll see I guess. My dad hasn't even booked yet which is a whole other story in itself.

Bad News!!! My vendors weren't paid
beachbride08 replied to BarefootBride's topic in Chit Chat Corner!
You do not deserve this. What an awful situation! Hopefully, the bank will be able to get your money back for you. Since it is a Visa debit card I'm sure they will be able to. I'm so sorry you have to deal with this. Congrats on the pregnancy-I must have missed that thread. -

I'm happy to still have a job right now, and I will be glad once the wedding is over since I won't be stressing out about trying to save money for that when I am spending so much more on everyday things like gas and groceries. -

But I'm not sure how this would work, would we have to go to a church? or can it be done at the resort? would it be recognized in the church here in the states? SO MANY QUESTIONS!!! and this is only the beginning. Thanks for your responses! If you do the civil ceremony in Mexico it is legal in the US, there are requirements that you will need to take care as far as documents and getting blood tests in Mexico and I believe you and your witnesses have to be down there a certain amount of time prior to the wedding. We didn't want to have to do all that work, so we chose the blessing ceremony which is not legal in Mexico or in the US. We just had a legal ceremony at the court house and did not tell anyone since we are considering our Mexico wedding "the real one" even though the legal one is technically the real one.
