  1. I used shutterfly for our wedding books, one for us and ones for our friends and family. They send you codes for discounts so they are pretty inexpensive and turned out great.
  2. I have pave diamonds on my ering and both of my wedding bands (one on each side of my ering) that go a little more than halfway around. They do spin at times, but not too much where it shows the solid band.
  3. I love this show, but usually only watch when the hubby is not home so I never watch the episodes in order. There is always something going on with them since they have such a large family, but I agree with some of the story lines being far fetched. Like the ones where they buy the chicken and the monkey. Maybe it's what rich people do so it may not be a stretch, but it seems a bit over the top at times. I do like how they all interact though. Very loving and protective one minute and holy cat fight the next.
  4. I'm glad Asuka got the boot, and I knew they wouldn't keep Jonathan. I haven't really been a fan of Vitolia, but not sure if that is just because I disliked Asuka so much. It'll be interesting to see how he does with a new partner. Mary is totally getting on my nerves this season. I never cared for the screaming in the previous seasons, but she has been over the top this season. It also seems like she is always saying the same thing. I didn't catch the Cat slip up, but it doesn't surprise me that she would be in the loop of who was getting the boot.
  5. I noticed the banners yesterday and was wondering where they came from.

The first amazing feature of shutterfly is that instead of sharing your pics through email, or through an album, you can just make a website out of your pics... and it's SO easy ! In 5 minutes, it's done, like, select to share on a site, change the three pics on display, add or delete pages, snap, done ! You have a number of designs to chose from, you can display in a slideshow, or thumbnails, or filmstrip, you have a guest book if you want to... you can even make your "wedsite" there ! And what's more, every time you share, you get free prints !! Plus, you can also upload videos to your site. Perfect, perfect for sharing. Another awesome thing is thaqt if you want to share in facebook or myspace or twitter, just one click ! And you don't have to upload your pics to FB as well ! And then, I discovered the photobooks. First, because I got one free just because I shared pics !! An 8x8 that I will use to make a TTD album. And then, I got another one from David's Bridal. So I started and wow ! Not only easy, but spectacular results ! I'm not big on captions so there are not a lot, but check my project : Shutterfly | View share And as you can see, you can share your projects, too ! And all this is FREE. Except when you order a goodie of course, but it is. FREE. Well, I am happy happy ! So happy I wanted to share ! I love Shutterfly and have been ordering from them for years. I made photobooks for my family and bridal party for Christmas and ordered the 8x8 size. We got them at a discount, but since I had to order so many we chose the smaller size. I made one for us as well, but ordered the larger size. I was so disappointed when I received the books because the smaller ones were not hardcover. I didn't notice online when I was making them, but if I had known I would have ordered the larger size for all the books. The hardcover was so much nicer.

But, it doesn't seem like they keep ballroom guys around long. I was ok with Ashley being eliminated. Her solo really didn't have much substance and her other routines hadn't been strong enough to compensate. I am not an Auska fan like I thought I would be during the auditions. I'm ready for her to head home soon. Her dance was really pretty and really technical but the only personality that I get is bitchy diva. Caitlyn at least has a goofy personality and she can laugh at herself. I'm excited to see what will happen next week! I wonder if there are spoilers, like what kind of dance they will be doing or who the choreographer is...I'll have to go investigate! Oh and I love that they are featuring professional dancers in their genre. Musical guests have not been impressive so far. Katy Perry and Lady Gaga were fun, these people not at all! I don't even know their names! That girl last night was TERRIBLE! I don't know why they bothered to even put a mic on her! Milli Vanilli did a better job lip syncing! Ashlee Simpson did a better job! I agree that the 3 guys in the bottom shouldn't have been there. I really liked Max, but you are right about them cutting the ballroom guys early. They have cut all the ballroom guys in the beginning from the past couple seasons I have watched. I was disappointed that Ashley got cut. I thought she was pretty good, but didn't have a chance to show what she's got. I'm not crazy about Asuka, I would have rather seen her gone. I liked most of the performances on the first episode, but haven't been too crazy on the performances on the other shows. I don't know if the dancers are just not good, or if it is the choregraphy. I usually tivo the show, and am glad because I have been fast forwarding through the singing performances. They have been awful!!

It is a suburb of Chicago, but you can take the train into the city from Downers Grove which is the next town over. There is also a new Westin in Lombard over there as well, but I imagine the rates are cheaper at Hyatt Place. When I lived in Chicago, our power was out for 3 days in the summer so we stayed there to be in the A/C! The rooms were very nice and you can get breakfast or coffee in the lobby. There are a ton of restaurants and Yorktown mall is right down the street. The Hyatt in Rosemont is another option, and there are a bunch of other hotels around the convention center. Rosemont is near O'Hare airport if you are flying into ORD, I'm sure those hotels have shuttles which would be convenient if you aren't renting a car. PM me if you need more help.

Also, what was the final consensus on the wedding decor available for use on the beach? They all have canopies available? How about chair sash colors? You gals are the best! Thanks!! I had the strawberry cheesecake and it was awesome! It was a layer of white cake then the strawberries and the cheesecake part on top in each tier. We had pink and white chair sashes. I wanted all pink, but at that time they didn't have enough. I'm not sure what they have available now. FSIL originally had her time off approved (she works for the USPO) and now they say she has to work on July 3rd or she will be fired. They were supposed to leave on the 2nd, and now they are leaving on the 4th. So I have been working with the TA to change their room reservations etc, and they had to pay Frontier $300 in change fees. YUCK! FFIL was pissed! Luckily TA rebooked them and they got a $240 refund on the room, which I was very happy with! FFIL is paying for us and them, so he asked hey, maybe we can get a refund too. Although I felt bad for asking, but All he can do is say no! RIght? Well, I just sent an email saying thank you etc. and BTW, any chance they can get a refund or upgrade? It can't hurt to ask, right? I am sure he will come back and say Hell to the no! But At least I asked. Have you all looked how cheap things are right now? It is insane. Well, at least we are all going and the Swine flu is all over. Has anyone asked, or gotten any refunds in the difference in prices, or upgrades? Just curious. Oh, and I didn't want to be greedy, I just asked for our parents who are paying for our families for the refund in difference or upgrades. Even though we could have booked the freakin Grand for our entire stay with what we paid for our portion. haha! Ha! Oh well! I am just happy we are going and everyone is able to join us. And my Father in Law is happy I asked! I am such a dang people pleaser! Uhhh! Hugs! Bess Depending on how full the hotel is when you get there you can ask the front desk for a room upgrade for your FIL. If they have it available, I'm sure they would do it if your TA can't get a refund for them. We got free upgrades at both the Lindo and the Grand without asking. My in-laws got upgraded from the Lindo to the Maya because their room was too far away. They asked to be moved to a closer room, but they didn't ask to be upgraded to the better hotel so it was nice surprise for them. The hotels were not fully booked when we were there so I'm surprised they didn't just move them to a closer room in the Lindo. I haven't been on the forum too much lately, but congratulations to all the Iberostar brides that have recently gotten married!

  12. Now that I moved across the country from most of my friends and family, and have an iphone I'm on email and Facebook a lot more. It is nice to post a quick status that they can read and know what is going on in my life. When I lost my job, I posted and a bunch of people reached out to me to try and help put me in contact with people they knew in AZ. It was actually pretty amazing. I still like to get some phone time with my friends and have probably talked to them more since I haven't been working. I was on the phone all day when I was working so talking on the phone was the last thing I wanted to do when I wasn't. Sending an email or a FB message is just easier sometimes.

That seems to be their connection. I'm glad they didn't kill Lafayette yet, he's funny. I'm glad I'm not the only one totally lost about that lady. I hope they start revealing who she is, and I think something is up with the guy that Tara likes.
  14. I'm not a mom, but I can understand your reasons for being hesitant. However, I think it would be a great opportunity to live overseas for a year. That is something that I would love to do. Plus, it is only a year so if you absolutely hate it the time will go by fast and you'll be coming home before you know it. There are a lot of expat sites out there so I'm sure you can connect with other US people in your same situation, in addition, to any UK people you'll meet.
  15. We didn't have an AHR because we couldn't afford to have one and since we were getting married in November and lived in Chicago at the time it would have been too cold to have anything casual outside. People that were coming asked if we were having anything at home and we just no we're getting married in Mexico and left it at that. It is your wedding, do what you want and don't worry about what other people want you to do. People are going to have an opinion no matter what you do so do what you want and can afford!
  16. Congrats on your wedding. Although, it wasn't the Mexico wedding you planned it looks like you had a great time. I love all the pigs!

I think it's semi tacky to ask someone to be part of your day and then ask them to pay for everything so I'm buying my BM dresses, shoes, paying for half of their hotel rooms, and "lending" my photographer out to them for them to have nice pro photos of them and their families (2 are bringing her hubby and kids and the 3rd's date is her mom, who was also invited). Total is about $300-400 each. If they decide after I've paid for said things not to go or can't go, for any reason, I don't want to lose the money. I'm a photographer and I know the value of a contract is worth it's weight in Platinum...FI says that bringing in a contract into something like this is going to make me lose friends, but I think it's important for me not to be out that money if someone flakes on me... I don't think I would have anyone sign a contract, and would be offended if one of my friend's asked me to. I think you should be up front with your bridal party and let them know you would like them to be a part of the wedding and know that it is asking a lot to have them spend the money on the trip, but that you are offering to help out by paying for XYZ. However, when asking them give them an option to back out if they don't think they will be able to make it or let you know as soon as possible before you purchase XYZ so you don't lose out on money if they can't go. It is tough times for a lot of people right now and what if one of your bridesmaids loses their job? You can't predict what will happen so you may just have to suck it up if someone bails.

But maybe i'm on that line, since the wedding is on June 19th, that it is still up in the air. Oh well, I guess we will see. Gemstone - your wedding pics are great! is that the del mar or the lindo? Does anyone have pictures of the italian restaurant at the lindo? I may have a picture of the Italian restaurant from pics my cousin gave me, I will check. If you have your wedding at the Lindo you can choose restaurants at the Lindo or Maya. We had our wedding dinner at ElRancho which is the steakhouse restaurant in the Maya. The seafood restaurant is across from the steakhouse and the Italian restaurant is on the Lindo property across from the buffet. We had our rehearsal at the Italian. If you were having a private dinner reception at the Del Mar you will not be able to at the Lindo/Maya. You will have dinner and then can rent the Los Vitrales room for a private reception afterwards. Our dinner at the steakhouse was in the back and it felt private, not like we were in the middle of the restaurant so it worked out perfect for us. If you have any questions PM me.

They were over $100, but they were the only suits I found that had the same strap style as my wedding dress (It was a lower cut v-neck in the front and back and a normal style bathing suit top would have shown lines.) I ordered one through Victoria's Secret, and found the other at Macy's. They were part of the Miracle Suit line and had ruching around the middle so they hid my unfortunate tummy rolls!
