  1. Good luck with the parties, and happy b-day to Justin!
  2. I voted for #1, but I also like 5 and 7. THey really are all very cute though so whichever one you choose I'm sure she will like it. Does she have a favorite color, maybe that will help narrow it down?

  4. We had the legal ceremony a couple weeks ago, and our DW is in November.

He could get something since his is bigger, but I thought it would be a waste since I won't have anything. My cousin did her initials (with her maiden name) + hubby's initials and their wedding date. He had the reverse on his band. I thought that was cute.

  7. I started one to post my wedding planning stuff and ideas a couple weeks ago. I need to update it though now that I have been able to take pictures of all my wedding things. It is in my signature.
  8. I love the wagon gift. That is such a cute idea. I love unique gifts where it shows that the person put thought into it.

NOPE!!!!!!!! DIDN'T HAPPEN!!! I'm so embaressed!! I mean, I took a few courses in high school and college but nothing came out!!! So this leads me to ask the questions, is anyone selling Rosetta (spanish). I've heard it's really good, but sooo expensive! Or any other advice for those of us who really want to learn the language?! Maybe you can find the Rosetta on Craigslist or ebay for cheaper? I took a beginning Italian class at the local community college since FI's parents do not speak much English. It was sort of a present to FI since I know he is probably getting tired of translating everything. I also thought it would be good to know and understand some of the language as I would like our future kid(s) to learn. The class was around $200 + the cost of the book. I felt like I learned so much more than I would have from a CD. I did buy a beginner's Italian CD-Rom when we first started dating, but learned so much more from the class. I still get embarrassed speaking to his parents in Italian, but I can understand them a lot more now.
  10. FI picked out a titanium ring because it was light and comfortable. He also liked the dull look.
  11. We sent out 75 invites I believe, and have 18 guests booked. We anticipate having around 30 as we have some guests in the process of booking. I don't think we'll have more than that, but are still waiting for about 45 RSVPs.
  12. I agree with what everyone else said. You need to pick a location, resort and date that work for you and your FI. You also need to discuss with your FI (and no one else IMO) what your priorities are. Is your main thing having more people at the wedding or having your wedding in Cabo? When we started planning we knew we wanted to have a small wedding and that is was going to be somewhere else. We were pretty open on the location, but had a few ideas in mind. The big thing for me was picking a location that was family friendly (I have much younger siblings and cousins, and FI's nephew that would be attending), centrally located and reasonably priced. We were flexible on the wedding date, but I did not want a summer wedding due to hurricane season. We also wanted to push the date out as far as we could so we would have enough time to save $ for the wedding ourselves and give family and friends enough notice and time to save their $ for the trip if they wanted to come. No matter what you do or where you have your wedding there will be comments made and unhappy people. Do what you want and stop worrying about everyone else.

I don't think an olive green would stick out as much, but it would still look nice.

I'm partial to green myself, but I do really like the red lamps. Those would really stick out where the 1st or 2nd lamps would just blend in with the couch. Those couches look super comfy BTW. Good luck and be sure to post pics when it is all done!
  15. WOW! Your wedding looked amazing. I love the set up, the colors, the church. So pretty and elegant.
  16. FI and I both have ipods, and although we have some music interests in common we also have a lot of differences. What we did was we created a wedding playlist in itunes and went through all the songs he had. If we both liked the song then it got moved into the playlist. Then we did the same on mine. After we did our initial pick we created new playlists for pre-ceremony music, ceremony, and reception. Then we moved the songs from the original wedding playlist to their appropriate lists and narrowed them down further since we picked way too many songs initially. He had to move songs from ipod over to his since he didn't have them. We are going to create CDs as back up, but I'm also looking into DJs that can create a mix of our songs for the reception so there won't be breaks in between songs, and so we can fit in some more songs since some are long and we don't really need to play the whole thing. There might be an easier way, but this is what we did. I would also recommend making a back up playlist before you start narrowing down since FI accidentally deleted it and we had to do it over.
  17. I haven't test packed other than my carryon suitcase. I really didn't fit much in there like I was anticipating so I know I'm going to bringing a lot. Our OOT bags alone might not even fit in one suitcase. We bought two new luggage sets from Macy's not that long ago when they were on sale. I still have my old big suitcase that I can use if needed so I'm hoping between the two of us we'll have enough room. We'll be bringing back a lot of empty suitcases so that is the part I am most pissed about since we'll have to pay to check them and there is nothing in them other than empty suitcases!
  18. I'll take the cards and Suduku books. I'll PM my info.
  19. Hope your wedding is everything you thought it would be. Congrats!

I have no idea how much it will cost me, but I would rather do that than worry about bringing it all with us on the plane etc. I know you can't really do that for Mexico which is too bad You're so lucky you can ship stuff! I have a feeling we are going to be lugging (and paying for) a lot of suitcases to Mexico.
  21. Has anyone come across a cheaper version or made their own? I'm interested to see how hard of a DIY project it would be.
