  1. I went the DIY route with my invitations. I had originally bought the 4 bar cards and envelopes to use for the RSVP card, but my printer would not pick up the cards to print on them. I had to print on regular size card stock and just cut the cards out. I was able to get 4 out of each page. I wasn't able to print the envelopes for the RSVP cards or for the invitation. I ended up just printing the address and return address labels on clear Avery labels. Since I had colored envelopes you could still the label, but the printing prices were so high I couldn't justify paying all that money.
  2. Tara, I love your earrings! I like yours better than the ones I got. Where did you get them?
  3. OK, your FMIL sounds like a total biotch! If she has to pencil in her son's wedding, then she needs to get her priorities straight. This is you and your FI's wedding and if you both want to have the wedding in Mexico then that is what you should do, especially if you are paying for it! Even if you had a wedding in Oklahoma there would still be people that couldn't make it, or comments said. I said f-em and do what you want, if you are having an AHR then you are doing more than enough. You or your FI just need to tell the biotch that this is the wedding that you want and this is what you are planning and you would love it if she could be there-end of story. Second, I'm so sorry about your dad. I hope he gets better soon. And last you and your FI are a ridiculously cute couple from the pic in your siggy.

I'm glad you liked it. I love the blumebox idea. I just started thinking about what else I wanted to do for centerpieces. I already have clear glass starfish shaped tealight candle holders and small tealight candle holders also clear glass. The floral centerpieces the resort offers are pretty standard and big. I'm going to see if I can just get some flowers to put in a vase like this. I can't bring down anymore glass stuff as our carryon is full and we have to carry on our sand ceremony set. Cardboard would be great! Has anyone ordered table runners? We will have 1-2 long rectagular tables with white table cloths. I think with only having the clear glass candle holders (at this point) I need to add some color to the tables.
  5. Good luck with your surgery, and enjoy all the pampering from FI while you recover.

I did nothing wedding related this weekend. I am working on a project for work so I was doing that this weekend and cleaning. FI and I went out to dinner and to see Pineapple Express on Saturday night to give me a break.
  7. I agree what the others have said already. I wouldn't freak out about it, but I definitely think you need to go. Since they haven't picked a date or resort yet you don't know what the price is and Cancun/Riviera Maya has some very reasonably priced resorts. If they plan on using a travel agent you can work out a payment plan. The TA we used only required a deposit up front and then the remainder of the balance is due 60 days before the trip, but she allowed guests to send her monthly payments. I think it is easier to save money that way when you have a set payment. That way you can't dip into that money for another purpose. I completely understand wanting to apy off your debt, and you can still pay down your debt while saving for the trip. This is an important day for what sounds like very close friends, and they seemed to have sacrificed a lot to come to your wedding and I think you need to do the same.

I've been so upset that I have turned to my FI and said "I don't want a wedding!" But my FI has a good motto that he has adopted...(excuse the profanity) but he says "F**K 'EM!" because in the end, its just the two of us in this relationship. If this is what you and your FI want, do it. Those who don't want to co-operate or join in are definitely missing out. If there's one thing I've learned from this forum, its that most DW guests end up having the time of their life. Don't beat yourself up. This trouble is fairly normal. I end this reply wishing you strength and happiness....and a fantastic wedding in PV! I agree with your FI's motto! Don't let the comments bother you, trust me, we've all been there. Just enjoy your day and do things the way you want regardless of who comes.
  9. I used to get my eyebrows threaded all the time since there was a place close by where I used to work. I haven't gone in a long time, but I do get my eyebrows waxed. I don't think the threading is more or less painful than waxing, but I do think that my eyebrows look better threaded than waxed. My skin also gets really red after waxing for about 2 days, but the redness goes away after maybe an hour when threaded.
  10. I love them! The graffiti background black and white pics are always my favorite. I like the one in the taxi cab too.
  11. You and your hubby are so cute together! The pics are awesome!
  12. That is horrible! I just started using the "green bags" when I shop.
  13. I just noticed that I'm under the 3 month market on my ticker! Holy crap!
