  1. I used to be really bad. When I was in school (magazine journalism major) I had a ton of magazine subscriptions. I have significantly cut back since then. I do still have a Glamour, Shape, Self and Domino subscription. I don't think I am going to renew the Domino one though. This is the first year I got it and am not really into it.

I (hopefully) will be sending that out in another 3 weeks (haven’t started them yet!!)– so it will be there just 8 weeks before the wedding. We also ordered custom luggage tags that I am sending out pre-filled with the guests names and addresses. People have been booking in spurts since January but we still have 5-10 people that have told us they are coming in the past month or two but haven’t booked so that is getting a little stressful. We have spent a ridiculous amount of time on the oot bags and just finalizing the order for drink cups and need to pick up some small things at the dollar store but those are about done – just need to work on the welcome letter to put in them. Finally – we need to figure out the ceremony and readings and make a final decision about whether to do a sunset cruise prior to rehearsal dinner at the resort, or host a dinner cruise for everyone in lieu of being at the resort. I have been super laid back about the planning of this entire event but now that we are getting so close I am feeling like I might have been TOO laid back and will have a stressful next few weeks  We did the bottles for our STDs as well, but we sent them out a year in advance to give everyone who was thinking about coming enough time to plan and save money. We sent out invitations to everyone we sent bottles to in June since at that point we only had 16 people booked. We gave everyone until August 15 to reply and we are still missing 18 responses. The ones we are missing are most likely nos, but there are a few that we haven't heard from at all so I'm afraid of having some last minute people. Aside from the STD and bottles and wedding attire, I didn't do much planning until recently. We bought the OOT bags, but we don't have enough. One of the girls on the forum may have some extras of the same kind I bought so I might luck out there. I think we also might get different bags for the single guys that are coming since I don't think they would even use the bags we got so that could help us out too. I have most of the items for the bags purchased already. I need to order the cups, I still want to get the first aid kits and gum, maybe some OFF wipes and sunscreen. I plan on getting snacks, water, post cards and maybe something else Mexico related when we get done there. I also need to work on the itinerary/welcome letter to put in the bags, and a tag for the bag itself. I need to do programs, order raffia fans and parasols (only getting those for the BMs and I) and I'm still debating on pashminas for the OOT bags. I also still need to decide what I am doing for centerpieces and bouquets. I guess I still have a lot to do. Oh, I need to decide on favors, placecards and seating chart too. I wanted to look for maracas to tie the placecards to, but haven't looked yet. Quote: Originally Posted by LindoBride2009 Lyssa - I'm glad to hear that you have been laid back in your planning. It stresses me out so now I've stopped looking (ya - great way to solve the problem hey?!!) I'm doing the same thing that you are with the passports, they might be boarding passes though. Where did you order your drink cups from? I have a question for all you gals - how are you transporting all your OOT bag stuff? I was thinking about doing a test run with our OOT bags and stuff in one suitcase. Our bags are kind of bulky so I'm hoping we can get all of them in one suitcase without going over the weight limit. We have a carryon suitcase already filled with the glass candleholders we bought for the centerpieces, and we are keeping our sand ceremony in the box it came in and carrying it on. I need to measure the box though to make sure it is roughly the same size as a carryon suitcase. This is probably going to be the thing that causes me the most stress-getting everything to Mexico!

Ok, what about this? i can also move the wording around a bit - either centred, left justified or right justified. which would you prefer? (I am undecided at this point so very open to suggestions!) I like this one. It was a little hard to read the Mexico part on the first one that is why I thought it might look better on the bottom. I think it looks good in the center the way you have it.

However, my FSIL sent her gifts to the house because she is lazy and didn't want to bring them to the shower or wrap them. She went crazy and got a bunch of stuff including the Kitchenaid mixer I really wanted. I already sent her a thank you, but I think we will announce what she got at the shower as well since she will be there.
  5. I just have MS Office on mine. You'll be able to take advantage of the student discount if you are a FT student so you might want to get both.
  6. You already know I'm in for 50 cups. What if we put the Riviera Maya, Mexico underneath the line and maybe make it a little bigger? I didn't look at the site, but do they charge extra for a color logo, or should we do black? That may suit more people's color themes. Just a thought.
  7. We had our legal ceremony in July and aren't having our Mexico wedding until November. I'm not changing my name until after our wedding though since neither of our families know we got legally hitched already.
  8. I watched the swimming, and have been into the women's soccer, beach volleyball and some of the running. How funny is that guy named Lightening Bolt? His name definitely suits him because he was super fast.

I feel like my list is slowly getting shorter, but then I think of more things to add.
  10. How fun! Those shots were huge, no wonder you were hungover!
  11. Those are awesome. I still need to order cups, but I don't know what I would do with 250 of them!
  12. I started having acne a few years ago, and so get the cystic pimples every now and then and they are horrible!I tried proactive last year and it worked for awhile, but I wasn't using the regiman as I was supposed to. I recently stopped using it since I was tired of spending the money on the products that I wasn't using. I am now using Aveeno. They have a foaming cleaner and an exfoliating cream and I use the scrubbing pads every now and then. I also went back on bc and that has seemed to help a lot. I no longer get breakouts on my back and my face stays pretty clear. Only until recently, but it has been really hot and humid here so I've been sweating more which I think is clogging my pores and giving me some breakout trouble. It is not that bad though. I do think that it takes a month or two to really see if your regiman is working so maybe you just need to give it some more time. Microdermabrasion facials also work well for acne, but they are very pricey. I had one done and have been wanting to go back hopefully before the wedding, but not sure if our budget will allow.

THe first month of taking the pill I was miserable. My boobs hurt all the time and were swollen and I had horrible cramps. I usually have really bad cramps when I get my period, but this was way worse. I haven't had any issues since then so I think my body was just getting used to it.

I have been totally stress eating. I am so proud of you all for your weight loss and continues efforts. I will check back in when I can but wanted to tell my November girls I miss you! OMG! Did you you leave on your own, or are they forcing you to leave. That is just terrible. You know we are all here for you for whatever you need. Take care of yourself.
  15. OMG! I just love the random topics on this forum. You ladies crack me up. I am so glad I just change BC pills and don't get my period anymore because I certainly would not be using one of these. It seems like it would be a big mess, or at least if I tried it it would be a mess even if it wasn't supposed to.

A question on the forum though - When I try to view people's public profiles it says I can't. Is this normal or am I doing something wrong? Anyone know? I'll try to post the pics tomorrow for ya. I'm not sure about the public profile's. I can't access them either so maybe it is not set up?

I'm not eating much, but if I could get my arse in gear and exercise I would do better. I am ordering my custom M&M's today - so one more thing crossed off the list! Congrats on the weight loss! That is awesome! I am going to pick up our City Chase packets after work tonight since my FI and I are doing the challenge on Saturday. Alyssa initially posted it on here when it was in Philadelphia. It's like a cross between Amazing Race and Fear Factor, but from what I was told you don't have to eat gross stuff if you don't want to. You have to complete 10 out of 25 challenges. It should be fun so I'll definitely be getting some exercise running around Chicago on Saturday. I have been trying to eat better and not eat out as much since that always makes me pick bad things. I've cut down on the soda, but I still need to have one a day. I'm going to try to cut it out completely, but I'm taking baby steps. I need to increase the exercise though.

My TA had forwarded me some pics of bouquets that other brides had used. I don't know if they are specifically for Lindo weddings, but I can try to post those if anyone wants to see them. They are on my computer at home.

It is more religious than I thought it would be, but I don't know what I would want to change it to so we'll probably just leave it. We have a lot of guests that are more religious than us so I'm sure they will appreciate it especially since we're not getting married in a church.

Just wondering if there is anything we should look for, ask about specifically, etc. There is so much to consider and so much information available--it is a little overwhelming as I am sure you all know. I also read that BeachBride is getting married in November (almost here!), I would love see some pics and get your review when you are back. Hope all of the planning is going well! Thanks! Yes, my wedding is approaching quickly. Time really goes by so fast! I will definitely be posting a review and pictures when I get back. I wish there had been more information on the Iberostar resorts when I started planning so I'm hoping my information will help you future brides.

I was worried I wouldn't know what to do, but she was awesome and jsut told me everything to do! I am sooooo excited to see the pics. I might not have them for about 4 weeks though, since she is travelling and taking all the pics in the BD marathons! Well, I may not be around much this week, as I am back down to the campsite. I just stopped quickly to get some more diapers for Justin while I was on my way threw town! Have a great week everyone! That's awesome! I'm sure they will turn out great. I wish I would have lost the weight I wanted to so I could have done BD pics.
  22. Cute pic! We haven't done engagement pics, and at this point probably won't considering we're getting married in less than 3 months. We've been engaged for over a year already.
