I have a couple different copies of the sand ceremony and all of them mention that you have just exchanged rings and kissed. Is the sand ceremony done at the end? Did the minister say anything after that or how do you know when to walk down the aisle? It seems like such a hard stop to the ceremony. I'm also working on my programs so I want to make sure I have the ceremony in the right order and am trying to figure out the appropriate place to add the sand ceremony since it is not in there currently.

I don't really think there should be a rule about how much one should spend. My FI and I had talked about marriage early on in our relationship and neither of us were in a hurry to get married. I initially thought I wanted a big huge ring and would joke about it, but when it actually came time to pick out a ring the big ones looked ridiculous on me. My main concern was that I had a say in the ring as it wasn't worth spending the money if it was going to be something I wouldn't wear. We did a lot of shopping and research and found a great deal on a loose stone, and then had my ring designed together months later. I am so happy with my ring and I rarely take it off. It also looks like it cost a lot more than it does and I get compliments on it all the time. I don't think you need to spend a fortune to get a beautiful ring. I think some people are in such a rush to get engaged or compete with their family and friends that they don't think rationally and spend way beyond what they can afford.

SO THEN... I was thinking bangs! But I know from past experience, me and bangs never get along. I have no idea how I am wearing my hair for the wedding. I already bought an expensive veil and I am definitely wearing it. UGH....decisions....decisions! How are you guys wearing your hair? Any thoughts? I was going crazy with my hair being so boring while I was growing it out so my hair stylist gave me bangs. I liked them at first and got a lot of compliments on them, but they are driving me crazy! I'm growing them out now so they will be longer for the wedding. Right now they are in my eyes, so I usually just pin them up or wear a headband! I have a few pictures saved of hairstyles that I like, but my hair will be all up in the back, but low. My bangs will be parted to the side in the front. I have a veil and ordered a head piece (which reminds me was supposed to be in this month, need to call on that), but haven't decided it I will wear that or just a flower. My stylist is going to do my hair trial with a couple different options and then take pictures so I can bring those down with me to Mexico for them to recreate.

My brother has his own comany and my uncle is an electrician too. I would have to do 3 years training at college plus practical work but its in the evenings which means I can carry on working full time. Does any one know of any women electricians ? I'm a real hands on person and think I would get great satisfaction from this. Fingers crossed, I'm waiting to hear back from the college because the course starts September 15th !! That is awesome! If it is something you want to do I say go for it. I have been thinking about changing careers for the past few months, but haven't figured out exactly what I want to do. Since you have relatives that are in the field, could you shadow them for a day to see if it is definitely something you would enjoy? I took a pastry class last semester as that was a career I was interested in. I absolutely loved it, and would like to take more classes after the wedding. They offered a class on Saturday which is the only day I could take it since the classes are 5 hours! I would have to miss 2 classes right off the bat this semester with the wedding so I couldn't register. If I did decide to go the pastry route it would be something I would have to do on the side or as a part-time job. Right now I am the bread winner while FI is finishing up school and not making much money. Once he gets a better paying job I will have more flexibility to go after what I want to do without worrying about taking a huge pay cut that we can't afford right now. Ideally, if there is anything I can do without having to go back to school for an extended period of time that is ideal. I majored in journalism, but have been in recruiting for over 5 years. I'm kind of pigeon holed for a recruiter job now so unless someone is willing to take a look at transferable skills or I get another degree I might be stuck. -

I wish I could get my hair to look so full like yours. Now that it is long it just hangs! I can't wait to chop it after the wedding.

Erica, you just reminded me about the Welcome booklet i have to start on. Are you handing yours out when you get done there or before you go? My dress fitting went pretty well. It zipped so that was good, but it is a little tight in the waist. I mean tight as in I can barely breathe! I'm going to have to continue to watch what I eat and exercise to make sure I don't gain any weight and if I lose a few pounds that would be preferred. I had forgotten what it looked like since I got it last December! It is so pretty though. I didn't get any pics this time around because it was all pinned up since everywhere, but the waist needs some major removal! I wanted to have her take the netting out underneath the dress because I didn't really want a poufy dress. She recommended that she take in the sides first to see how I like it since she thought it might be looking too poufy since there was so much extra material. She also wouldn't be able to put the netting back in once she took it out so she wanted to make sure I like it. I have to go back in two weeks for my second fitting and take my sister with so she can be measured for the flower girl dress. I will get pics then so you can see what it looks like once it fits me better!

Who Pays for Bachelorette Party?
beachbride08 replied to Davematthews16's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
For the bachelorette parties that I have planned or been invited to, there is usually a per person cost if you are going out somewhere. That cost covers whatever the bride would have had to pay. If it is at someone's house the bridal party will usually split the cost of food and drinks or whatever is involved with that. I personally didn't want to have a bachelorette party because I only have two girls standing up, and didn't want them spending any more money. I wanted to just spend time with them in Mexico, however, they felt it necessary to throw me a bachelorette party. I don't know what they are planning at this point, but I fully intend on throwing some money at them to cover my share. If they take it from me will be the question. -
I am going for my first dress fitting tonight! Yay! I went shopping the other night to look at the Spanx, but when I tried them on it didn't make me look any different. I think I was hoping for some kind of miracle! Like I walk into the fitting room, put on some spanx and walk out looking like Heidi Klum! Ha ha! So I decided that I will probably just have the boob cups sewn in so I don't have to worry about a bra. I could probably get away with a regular one, but I don't want to have to worry about straps, etc. I found some cute panties at Victoria's Secret. One say Bride to Be on them and the others are just blue. I figured that will take care of my something blue then. I also found another pair of earrings (this is now the 3rd pair!), but I think I like these the best. I'm going to bring the jewelry with so I can try it on with my dress to make sure it looks alright.

E-Ring ruined?!?
beachbride08 replied to FutureMrsLewis's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
I actually like the second ring you picked out better than the first one. I mean you can always keep that one, and just wear it sparingly to make sure it doesn't fade much more than it already has. -

Let us know how we should pay and what we owe once the shipping is calculated. Thank you for arranging this! You just have to copy the URL from this thread and paste in the reply on the other thread. It should automatically change it to a link. That is what I do, but there could be an easier way that I'm just not aware of. I'm definitely not a forum expert! Ha ha!
