We went with a basic suite for up until the wedding, but went all out on our honeymoon room and got the ocean view room and the big suite. Since we weren't able to go to a different location we wanted to make sure we felt like we were on our honeymoon at least. Steph-I agree with the other girls that you should put something in the itinerary about the off resort dinner and specify the price range so they know you are not paying for it. I don't know if transportation would be an issue, but you might want to include a taxi price if that would be something they would have to pay as well.

  3. I got my cups yesterday. I tried filling two of them with water, but the color didn't change?
  4. These are beautiful! I wish I had the body to get married in a bikini like in a couple of the pics.
  5. There were a couple TTD pics around #75 or around there. I'm guessing they either didn't include all the TTD pics in the slideshow, or maybe the couple didn't get too crazy with it. We booked Citlalli for our wedding and TTD shoot, but these were the first TTD pics I have seen from her.

I never usually wear lingerie, but was planning on bringing some for the honeymoon. I did buy some bride to be panties and things like that, but I need to buy some more. Target usually has some cute things, and they are way cheaper than Victoria's Secret. Plus, like you said it doesn't stay on for very long so what is the point in buying expensive stuff.
  7. I think you need to sit down with your parents and have it out. Lay everything on the table about how you are feeling, and be prepared to walk away from them and keep them out of your life if they don't change their ways. Even if they don't like your FI, they should keep their comments and rude behavior towards him to themselves and just learn to get along for your sake. You don't need people like that in your life especially if they are putting you in the hospital - parents or not, that is not healthy!
  8. You ladies have been busy! Erica-That is great that you finished the bath bombs! Tara-$200 for a passport?! That is crazy, and totally sucks! You'll probably find your old one now that you paid all that money. Quote: Originally Posted by DanielleNDerek Celina how the heck does that happen. I would be so annoyed that i had to call people but at least there's a little good to it, you can forget about people you didnt really want in the first place. So i don't have very many wedding projects left but i just cant seem to find the time to get them done. And i'm running out of time. I'm also getting tired of wedding stuff. anyone else feeling that way? The post office sucks! They screwed me up with the postage amount too with my invites. I have not done anything wedding related. I have been sick since Tuesday. I called into work yesterday, and slept all day. It was actually kind of nice. FI was home since Wed. is one of his days off so he was taking care of me. I am starting to feel better today which is why I am catching up on BDW! I am having my garage sale this weekend so that will be one more weekend of wedding stuff not getting done. Hopefully, next weekend I will be able to work on some stuff. I have another dress fitting next Saturday and my sister can try her dress on for the first time. I can't wait to see how it turned out. Pretty soon we will a month away, I can't believe it!
  9. I think you hair looks cute either way, but I am partial to short hair. I can't wait to cut mine off after the wedding. If you cut it short before your event you could always put it half up, or just style it with some loose waves.

They sound so mean when I read Mr and Mrs Smith Will Not Attend. lol I know I picked the wording, but it really sounds harsh in my head. I wish I had put something like 'Can't Make It' or 'Bummed, we have to stay home'. Something with a better ring to it, KWIM? Its a tiny detail, but I swear its bothering me! So, thought some of you might benefit from this. Also, I pre-filled the cards with peoples names. Found a Sharpie that matched the ink color and filled them right in to prevent 'extra' guests. Seems to be working so far and no one knows that's the reason I did it. Quote: Originally Posted by latinbeauty Not to sound like a complete idiot ..... Thanks, Ines That is a good idea to fill in the names on the response card. I wish I would have done that, but I couldn't remember all of my cousin's kids' names! We invited a lot of families, but the problem is a lot had the same last name. When we got the reply cards back a lot of people didn't put address labels on the cards so we weren't sure who was who!
  11. Yari, I can't believe you are posting your planning thread already. The time goes by so fast! Everything looks great!

Her mouth or her teeth just looked extra large to me. The whole Stephanie thing was ridiculous. FI actually sat through the episode with me (which never happens because he hates the show and can't understand why I watch it!), and we were both like OK she is asking for permission to go on a date with a guy that her new friend Lauren just broke up with, and thinks that she won't find out about it because she is out of town. Then she thinks she is screwed because Brody's mom saw them. Hello? You are concerned about that, but not about the camera crew following you around and taping every conversation you have about this betrayal to your friend and oh not to metnion the actual date. How stupid can she be?
  13. They really went all out! I love the candy buffet and bags and all the decorations. Your dress was super cute, and you look just like your Mom!

Right now, we are planning to stay and have our guests stay at one of the Iberostar resorts...most likely the Lindo or Maya. We are considering having our wedding here too but also looking into off-site options and prices. I was under the impression that wedding ceremonies/dinner at the IB cost $20pp over 10 guests, but I just read on an IB message board (IBEROSTAR HOTELS & RESORTS MESSAGE BOARD | IBEROSTAR REVIEWS & PHOTOS - Index) that if you want to rent out one of the restaurants for a private dinner it is $1000 for the rental and $50 pp for dinner. I assume this is true but wanted to confirm. Also, does anyone know what the cost of a cocktail hour is and the cost of an open bar during the dinner at the IB resorts? I will be emaing the IB WCs but wanted to throw this out to the group as well. Thanks for your help!! Jillian I had read that about the conference center as well, but then all my communications with the WC was that you could not have a private dinner. I'm not sure if you have to hae a minimum number of guests to rent that area out, and we didn't have a large enough group or maybe something else was already booked their on our day. That was never offered as an option for us though. It seems like things go back and forth with the rules on what you can and can't do. The PP charge for us is $18 for over 10 guests, but no charge for kids under 12. The price went up from 2007 so $20 may be the price for when you are getting married. For us, the prices for just cocktails is $6 per person, per hour, and $12 per person, per hour if you want appetizers. I'm not sure if this price is different for your wedding date/year though. I don't know if you have to pay a pp fee for drinks during dinner. I thought it was only for a separate cocktail hour and for the after dinner reception. As for decorations, I am only bringing a few things. I ordered smal blumeboxes to put flowers in for our centerpieces. I will get the flowers from the resort, but they said if we wanted vases or whatever we had to bring them or she could ask the florist (ie additional charge). The boxes are cardboard so they are lightweight and pack flat so not a big deal to bring them down. I also got tealight candle holders for the tables, but that is it. I think I am going to look for bottles of tequila and/or maracas when we get down to Mexico for the favors, and I am just going to bring down paper placecards. I don't want to have to bring down any more stuff than I have to, and from the people that I have talked to that have been to Riviera Maya we can get either of those items in the resort gift shop or in Playa Del Carmen. Yes, it will be a little running around when I get there, but less to pack and haul down on the plane. I don't have any decorations for the ceremony. I am only requesting a table for our sand ceremony set. I got raffia fans to put on the chairs with our programs. I tried wrapping ribbon around the handles and was only able to get the ribbon on one of the fans. The others were constructed too tightly for me to get the ribbon through so I gave up! I'll just have plain fans. Ha ha! At this point since we don't have much time left I'm not as concerned about the details, I just want to get stuff done.

Do you have enough time to apply for a replacement if you can't find it? Do you have a carryon suitcase that you can pack the starfish in? That should give you a little more room than a backpack. I gotta a lot of great stuff and it was really, really nice. I'm going to make a thread later with pics. I knew that the brunch was going to be your shower! That is awesome! I want to hear all about it and see pics of course. Quote: Originally Posted by SoontobeMrsE Today is our deadline for RSVP's! Our deadline was August 15, and we got most of our replies the week of and week after our deadline, but were still missing about 20 the week after that so we had to start emailing people to find out for sure. Luckily, we did because we had about half of our guests book their trips at that point and we probably would have counted them as No's since they didn't reply. I didn't do much wedding related things this weekend like I had hoped. I still didn't work on my programs, or menus. However, I did get my parasols and blumeboxes in though. I got 4 white/off white and one hot pink parasol. I didn't know how the pink was going to look in person so I got an extra white one for me in case I didn't like it. The color is fine, but the umbrella part looks weird to me. It's like they put some kind of coating on it so when it is closed it looks the same color, but open the branches part is darker because of the coating. It's weird. I probably won't use it, but it was only $5 so it is not a big deal. The white ones are fine though. I'm hoping they will be OK in a checked suitcase. They are just wrapped in paper, not bubble wrap or anything. The handles are also bamboo so I hope I don't have an issue getting them through customs, I read somewhere else on the forum that bamboo was an issue, but I can't remember where. The blumeboxes are really cute. One of these days on my ever growing To Do list I am going to stop at the florist and see how many flowers I will need to fil the vases so I can give an count to the WC. I got the smaller boxes for the centerpieces so hopefully we won't need too many. I don't know if there will be an extra charge for the flowers since centerpieces were included in our package, but they may have a special centerpiece that is included.
  16. What a cool site! I wish I had found that before I bought my OOT bag stuff.

And I agree about the Dixon / Brandon comparison. So obvious and so predictable. Then I spent the rest of the show trying to figure out who everyone else was supposed to be from the old cast. I agree with you on the way they revealed Dylan was the dad. I was hoping for him to just show up one day or something. Hopefully, he will make an appearance. I wonder if the philanthropist thing is a lie, covering up for something more scandalous and that is why he is not in the kid's life. Like he is in jail or something. Ha ha!
