This really applies to everything, swimsuits, sundresses, etc. Right now is a good time to shop because all the summer things are on sale as they are already transitioning into fall clothes! Just an fyi.... This is so true. I just took my FMIL shopping this weekend so she could get a dress and her choices were very limited since a lot of the dresses in her size were already gone, and even more so since all the summer dresses were marked down so they could start making room for the back to school and fall stuff. It is a great time to pick up some cute summer dresses for you to wear on your trips though. I bought a bunch of cute cover ups, and things to wear in Mexico.
  2. I believe it was Kodak that I seen these accordian style cards, and you can use multiple photos or collage of photos. I know you said you used a photo postcard, but I thought these looked really cute and could be a great way to show off some of your wedding photos.
  3. That really stinks! Hopefully, you will be able to find a new job soon as it doesn't sound like a great work environment to be in.
  4. Congratulations! Have a great Cabo wedding, and be sure to post lots of pics when you get back.
  5. I'm an Iberostar Lindo bride, but the packages are the same. If you need any info let me know, otherwise the Iberostar board that the other poster listed is a very valuable resource and I found a lot of info there.
  6. I think a spa day would be nice, or if you two are close maybe go somewhere for a weekend trip. If not, then a gift card to travelocity or expedia or something that she can use to take a trip on her own or with someone of her own choosing. I am getting close to 30 and I really want to take a trip somewhere and forget that I am getting old! Ha ha!

I haven't made a decision on this one either. I want to see if the WC would be able to purchase something Mexico reltaed like mini bottles of tequila, or the maracas in Mexico for cheaper or at least the same price of what I would pay for those items here. This way she can them for me, and I wouldn't have to lug more stuff down there, and not have to worry about finding something when we get there. I don't think it is tacky to not have favors. Most people don't remember to grab them when they leave, or never use it so I think it really ends up being a waste more than anything.
  8. Wow, I can't believe she is 8 weeks already. She is so cute!
  9. Wow, what a great contest! Your pictures are beautiful so whoever wins will have some amazing pictures. Good luck ladies!
  10. I'm sure your wedding will be fabulous. Congratulations!
  11. You take such nice pictures! What kind of camera do you use?

Should I just stick to pink flowers and some candles I'm not sure my pink would classify as fushia, but pretty close. I am also having a light green and some accents of ivory. I think I will have pink roses in my bouquet, and the BMs will have ivory (one is wearing the pink dress, the other the green color, but both are wearing ivory flip flops). My flower girl will also be in a green dress with pink flip flops. If my BM that is wearing pink has any fabric left over from alterations we are going to use it to make a pink sash for the flower girl. My invitations incorporated all three colors. I got clear glass starfish tealight candle holders that I may use as part of the centerpiece decorations, but I haven't decided if I'm going to use them or not. I was planning on ordering ivory parasols and raffia fans I will probably tie pink and green ribbon on those. I haven't decided on the chair bows yet since I haven't seen what the resort has as far as color options. I know the chair covers are white so I think I might stick with an ivory chair bow if they don't have pink or green that will compliment or color theme. I don't mind if the shade is a little off, but the pink and green color of the BM dresses are not a common shade so if it is way off it will look weird.
  13. Unfortunately, my FI works weekends when his friends are off so he doesn't get to hang out with them much anymore. I have encouraged him to have more guys nights out since I try to get out with the girls as much as I can. However, most of his friends are still single, and the others are just starting families so he is in the middle and doesn't have anyone else in the same spot as him. His single friends are the type that like to go out to dance clubs and strip clubs and he hates going to both (relief for me!). The married ones like to go out as couples so that doesn't really give him an opportunity to do a guys only outing. I think it is good for couple to do their own thing every now and then.
  14. The pics are great! I loved your hair and dress, very pretty. Congrats again!

I did order our sand ceremony kit which ended up being on sale (I posted the link on a new thread). Woo hoo! I also found flip flop sandals for FI to wear with his suit. He decided wearing brown shoes and socks would be too hot, but he hates flip flops. I found a pair that he actually thinks are comfortable. I also took FMIL shopping and she found her dress and shoes for the wedding.
  16. I am working with Nita Haas from Viking Travel in Westmont, IL. She has done other destination wedding arrangements and has been a great help to me so far, but I am sure any of the other recommended TAs on the board can be just as helpful.
  17. The book turned out amazing! I am going to borrow one of the quotes you used for our wedding programs. Thanks for sharing!
  18. She is adorable! Congratulations!
  19. For those of you looking for sand ceremony kits, I just ordered the one I have had bookmarked for awhile and it is currently on sale for $10 off the regular price. The personalization and sand are extra, but I thought it was really cute so I thought I would share. Kensington Classics: Heart Shaped Unity Sand Ceremony Set

Now that it'll likely be even more expensive with soaring airline costs/fuel costs, is it a more difficult request to make? I can see some people thinking it's just plain rude given the economy. I don't need everyone there, but am hoping most people can still afford to come. (No location confirmed yet, but will almost certainly be Playa del Carmen) Thanks! We sent our STDs out a year in advance, but since the flight schedules were not available yet people couldn't start booking until the beginning of this year. A little more than half of the immediate family we expected to attend booked pretty early, as well as, some close friends and they got good deals (actually a lot cheaper than the price my TA quoted me based on '07 rates). The rest of our immediate family and some friends said they would be coming, but none of them have requested quotes or booked their trips yet. We sent out invites out in June and gave until August 15 for a reply by date, so I don't know if the rest of the people are just waiting until August to see if they will have time off and/or money left to go or what. I just hope we get the rest of the responses soon so we know what size group we will definitely have. I fully anticipate having a much smaller group than we initially thought we would have due to the cost.

That's double our entire wedding budget!! Holy Cow! THe site was very cool, and their engagement story was beautiful. However, $500 for a wedding website is a bit steep for me.
