  1. Thanks for the tips, going to try the Whitestrips....
  2. Is anyone worried about it being windy on the beach? Thinking of doing an updo...thanks for the youtube tip.
  3. Has anyone heard of Gel Nails? I'm thinking of getting them done the day before we leave, I've heard they last for weeks and aren't as bad for you as the fake nails.
  4. You can do it, and give it your all, as Jillian says, if your only going to work out for 20 minutes, it better be a hard workout!
  5. Congrats, this site is addicting but it will help so much with the planning!
  6. Congrats on your engagement! This forum is awesome for all the information you can find. I recommend the "What I would and wouldn't do again" thread - it's a long one but take notes because it will take some stress off. Also for OOT bags, there's tons of threads out there including Master Lists and What people used and didn't use. It's easy to go crazy so if you have an idea of what will and won't be used, you can limit your spending. Happy Planning!
  7. I don't see why not, but that is a question you probably have to ask the wedding co-ordinator at your resort.
  8. I've gotten my room candles, fans, and even the cake topper at Micheal's - all with Coupons!
  9. You should ask your wedding co-ordinator at the resort. They will know the answer to that one.
  10. I am using Pastor Rick York - [email protected] to do our symbolic ceremony. We didn't want to go through all the hassel of translating everything to Spanish, not to mention the cost. And the judge doesn't really do much at the ceremony, they have one of the wedding co-ordinators officiate so that is why we went with the symbolic ceremony. We are getting married at the Town Hall here the week before, and Pastor York does an entire ceremony there, so people won't really know the difference and we are going to celebrate the 14th as our true wedding date, when we say I do before all our friends and family.
  11. There are lots of websites to go on which will tell you the weather, getting married on Nov 14th, and I'm bringing a light shrug for the evenings, but I'm sure we are going to have great weather!
  12. We went the Majestic Elegance because of our Travel Agent. She has been there a few times with her husband and she locked it a great deal. I agree with GingerBluePetal - don't read trip advisor it will just freak you out. You can't make everyone happy and the complainers just love write reveiws on that site.
  13. I am going to write the wedding co-ordinator at the Majestic and see if they have any info they can offer. I would love to put that info in the welcome letter in our OOT bags.
  14. I found the cutest flip flop wedges at Kohl's and they are Candie's, $9 after all the discounts were taken off. I think if you are getting married on the beach - go full beach style and the wedges still give me a couple of inches for height for the dress
  15. Pictures are soooo important, they are really the only thing you have after it's all done. We are bringing our photographer from home, and because he really wanted the getaway, he gave us a break on the package so the total cost, including his airfare and hotel for 3 days ends up being the same as if we booked him for a wedding here.
  16. Pastor York is officiating my ceremony at the Majestic Elegance on Nov 14th...he has been great to work with so far!
  17. I never thought of using it for the TTD session....thanks for that Should we bring extra ribbon to wrap around it for the second day?
  18. Does anyone know if they care if you take over the Gazebo area at night for a quick "first dance" with your husband? We were thinking of flash mobbing the area just to do our first dance after dinner then heading off to one of the bars to drink until the disco opens.
  19. Anna and Paul 11/14/11 Majestic Elegance.....it's coming up so quickly!
  20. Hi All, I found linen pants and a shirt for my FI at Islandimporter.com great site, shipped in a week. I was really happy with it.
  21. Is anyone else getting nervous? So much to do and not enough time....why do I always procrastinate?
  22. Welcome and Congrats! Punta Cana is beautiful, you'll love it!
  23. They have a lot of resorts that are kid friendly and/or let your kids stay free. My best advice is work with a travel agent, and don't go overboard on the extra's. We are just doing one of the restaurant's on the resort for dinner, because it's included, and then hitting the night club after...will save a bundle on not having a reception and everyone is ok with it
