Hi All, I'm 37 and my FI is 38 and we both want kids, we've actually been trying for a couple of months and so far no I'm wondering, the wedding is 2 months away, should we stop trying until after the wedding now? Some of my friends have been telling me they'll kill me if I'm pregnant and they can't party with me in Punta Cana, and I didn't really care but now that we are coming up to the date and I'm not pregnant yet, I'm back on the potentially waiting fence. I know we'd like a couple of kids so we'll have to have them back to back, but will a couple months really make a difference or should we keep trying?

Good point, I never thought of the lighting issue after dinner. Sun goes down in November early. Thought we'd just go with an IPOD and docking station and do the dance, but now that I type it out, that just doesn't seem right. Thanks JayKay!

Your wedding co ordinator at the resort should send you a link to pictures of their cakes and bouquet. With the cakes though, if you want to bring some extra's to decorate, they normally leave them kind of bear. I'm bringing ribbon in my colours and asking them to put that around the tiers for pictures.

I agree, travel agent helped us out tremendously. They provided brochures on different islands so we could choose where we actually wanted that after we narrowed down the resort choices we sat with her and chose the final resort, keeping in mind our budget and the guests.

Welcome to the forum. Once you choose the location and resort it gets a lot easier. We let everyone know as soon as possible once we chose a resort, got our date booked, and set it up with the travel agent so those that could come, had time to plan. It will be easier than you think. There are tons of sites that have a wedding checklist with timelines, so just go down the timeline and go from there.

The Majestic Colonial is a little more kid friendly than the Majestic Elegance if your choosing between the two!

We first decided on a location, and that took awhile but once we decided on the DR, we went to a travel agent, my best friend's sister. As she goes to the Carribean a lot, she gave us the scoop on a lot of resorts and helped us decide. When deciding where, there are lots of things you have to think about, if you are doing a civil ceremony and not a symbolic one, look into how long you have to be there before and if it requires you take a blood test (Mexico does). That will help you narrow down your choices. Also, check out the threads on the various islands and see what people are saying / issues they are running into. Above all - have fun with this!

We are bringing our photographer with us. Pictures are the one thing I want more than anything else so I'm psyched he agreed and more than willing to pay the cost

I am thinking of doing a cocktail hour as well. Our ceremony at the ME is at 1:30, so I thought cocktails around 2:30 so we can do speeches and hang out before dinner at 6:30...
