  1. Key West is fantastic and I'm sure your guests will love it (and I can't imagine what your FMIL could complain about there)! Have you thought about Costa Rica? I think it sounds like a wonderful place to get married too. Best wishes to you and I'm so sorry that you are having to go through so much.

  4. Petals what a fun planning thread. I love the Jamaica OOT bags! That was a great call. Have a great wedding!
  5. That is HOT! I'm going to have to remember that one when it's time for my BD shoot.
  6. Yamille this is a fantastic planning thread! Thanks for all of the pictures! I really love how your OOT bags turns out. Have a great wedding and I can't wait to read your review when you return.
  7. I'm so sorry MissLucky7Bride! I think there are just so many beautiful choices out there it is completely understandable to wonder if you'd like something better. Are you unsure about the entire color theme or is it that you just want to do some "tweaking"? As for the dress, there was an episode of "Say yes to the dress" where the bride was sure that she no longer wanted the dress she had chosen months before. After trying on tons of dresses in the store she realized that her original dress was still the right one. She just needed the seamstress to make a few design alterations to the dress and then it was perfect. I don't know if that helps but I thought I'd share that. Hang in there and I hope you feel better in a few days! BTW-- we are date and location twins! Where are you getting married in PV?
  8. Definitely try everything on! I had it set in my mind what I wanted and I ended up with something different. All the places I went to had great sales ladies who pulled things I never would've picked out but once I put them on I could see how they showed off my figure. It was really fun! I went shopping alone to some stores, with my best friend to others, and then my mom to other ones. In the end I took my mom and best friend to see the final dress choices separately and they both picked the same dress! That made me feel good that both my mom and friend could agree, especially when they have such opposite tastes. Personally (& speaking from experience), if your budget doesn't allow for the real high-end designers I would avoid those stores. You don't want to risk falling in love with something and then never be able to find another dress that you love that is in your price range. I started looking at dresses that were at the top of my price range and fell in love but I couldn't stop feeling guilty about spending so much on the dress. In the end I found a maggie sottero dress that I loved that was way under my budget price! It was hard to get the more expensive dresses out of my mind though.
  9. Here's my Maggie- It's Reese! No photos of me in it yet, I'm still waiting for it to come into the store. I think they said it would be in by June. Funny thing is that when the sales lady showed it to me I told her "no way"! I thought it looked awful on the hanger. Once she convinced me to try it on I was completely surprised! Funny how that works out.
  10. Thanks so much for sharing. I'm so sad to here about how poor PV is taking such a hit. That's why I keep telling all of my guests that I'm so proud to have a DW wedding in Mexico-- b/c I want them all to fall in love as much as I have with Mexico and the people of Mexico! I can't wait to get down there for our wedding!
  11. Yeah Andi! Thanks so much for posting. I loved reading your posts while you were down in PV during your wedding week and honeymoon. I really appreciated all that you did while you were down there. I'm so glad you had a great honeymoon and CONGRATULATIONS on your marriage!!!

  14. I think it would depend on the layout of where you are getting married. My brother just got married at the Mona Surfrider in Honolulu and had a big problem with people standing there and watching (but they knew in advance that this would happen). They got married on a lawn looking onto the beach. There was a fence that separated the lawn from the beach but once beach-goers saw a wedding was going on they all lined up along the fence and were literally an arm's length away from where the bridal party was standing. I don't think there would've been anything they could've done to prevent what happened but the photographer said he could photoshop all the people out. It was actually kind-of funny to see all the people standing there and I guess that is what you are to expect at the location they choose. One bright spot was that one of the people watching was a semi-pro photographer who ended up taking pictures of the wedding. He found one of the groomsmen and swapped email addresses and then burned a whole disc of great photos for my brother and his wife. The photos were fantastic! Good luck and post pictures if you come up with a sign!
  15. Jess, What were some things that were brought up that you felt made the other couples leave? I'm curious and since I'm not catholic I'll not get to experience a retreat like yours. It's hard to believe that so many people left. Congratulations on making it through!
  16. I think you should go. Maybe just check in with your friend a couple weeks before the wedding to see if there's anything you can help her out with early. Then of course, dive in once you get back from your trip. I'm sure she'll understand!
  17. My brother just got married in Honolulu last month and I thought I'd share a couple pics from his ceremony setup. They got married at the Mona Surfrider Hotel in the garden area. The orchid huppah was my favorite. Since I know a lot of us are looking for huppah ideas I hope this one is helpful.
  18. Desiree! You are smoking hot in those photos! Tyler isn't going to be able to control himself at the altar waiting for you!!!
  19. Trayce your planning thread is amazing!!!! Your OOT bags are kind-of similar to mine. I was wondering how many you took down to mexico? Did you run into a lot of trouble getting them through customs? That's a big worry of mine right now! Congratulations on your wedding!!
  20. Ana, your dress is so beautiful! Who makes it? You are making me reconsider my dress!
