  1. You are referring to the restaurant, correct? We ate there on a recent trip to PV and loved it! It is so beautiful and the service is excellent! I think it would make a lovely location but Le Kliff has a special dedicated place for a wedding and would be a little closer to you. Good luck!
  2. Are you ladies planning on giving them out to all guests or just the women? I was originally going to give them to everyone but my mom thought that men wouldn't use them (since they are kind-of girly looking). I bought the medium size palm fans. I'm curious to hear what you all are thinking!
  3. PixiesDust- I love your idea of the recipe books as favors! I'm going to have to put some thought into that to see if I can pull it off! Thanks!
  4. Thanks so much Nylany! Haramara may be just perfect! LOL- I'm a vegetarian and am always struggling in Mexico! Not so sure about the yoga thing though. Is the beach part of the resort? How far away is it? Would you do it again? We may be in the same situation as you (having a short honeymoon & doing something else later). It's still in negotiations at the moment- I'm pushing for something longer but we'll see. Thanks once again for suggesting this place!
  5. Hi Ladies, I recently bought my "Reese" Maggie Sottero dresss and am so excited about it! I saw on one of the other threads that there were several other BDW brides who have picked this dress as well. Since the back of this dress is so unique I was wondering how you are planning on wearing your hair. I had originally wanted to wear my hair down but it seems like I'd be missing out on so much of the dress if I did that. Now I'm thinking of wearing it loosely up or to the side. I'm seriously in need of inspiration! So other "Reese" brides... do you mind sharing how you were thinking of wearing your hair? Thanks so much!
  6. Hi Chikia, I'm using a local PV wedding coordinating team, Prisar Vallarta, and I couldn't imagine not working with someone who is local to the area. Priscilla & Hector are excellent! They always give me their opinion on what would be the best & they are frequently saying they don't recommend something or a particular vendor b/c in their opinion the prices are too high. They really seem concerned about spending my money wisely. Also, I think it is much more convenient to pay the WCs directly & let them deal with the vendors. Could they be tacking on a little to the prices? I don't know but even if they are the prices are still so reasonable in comparison to getting married in the US. With Prisar Vallarta you have all the control over your budget and planning. I believe that is different then how Dazzling Details works (where you hand the wedding planning over to them). If you choose to go with a local PV planner think about how hands-on you want to be. I think both Prisar and DD would do an excellent job! There are many happy brides from both planners on this forum who I'm sure will chime in! :-) From what you've written I get the feeling you want to be more hands-on so with that in mind Prisar may be better suited to your personality. There are also other WC in PV that you may want to check out as well but personally I'm biased and would go with Prisar! Any other questions just PM or email me. Good luck!
  7. You all have such great ideas! I wish I was more talented at putting something like that together!
  8. Thanks so much Lill Miss Frog! I appreciate your advice. We want everyone to have fun and feel welcome. I'm going to try to not worry about how we will take care of the kids for now. Hopefully, we'll get a good idea before we get to the wedding. BTW-- I love your frog siggy!
  9. I have a "young kids" question. My FI has a couple of friends who recently had kids (I'm guessing the ages are from 1 yr to 4 yrs). Personally, I feel that it's rude to bring kids of this age to someone else's wedding and especially to a destination wedding. I must admit that I know nothing about kids but I imagine that an evening wedding would not work to well with young kids and their feeding & bed times. Would those of you with kids please tell me what you think? Am I worrying to much about this? I would just hate to have these parent's come to the wedding and then leave early b/c they have to put the kids to bed. It's tricky b/c we are all staying at a hotel but having the wedding offsite at a villa. I just can't wrap my mind around how this will work but maybe I'm just being to "type A" about the whole thing. My FI is furious at me right now b/c I suggested that if he talks to these friends he should let them know that we are having an evening wedding so they can decide if they want to bring the kids. He feels that I'm picking on his friends which I'm not-- I just don't want to be spending my wedding week worrying about how to make special accomdations. Please understand that I'm really not trying to sound mean about it I'm just really frustrated that this is something else that will be on my plate & my FI just doesn't get it when it comes to thinking ahead and planning ahead. He's one of those great people who thinks "the more the merrier" and everything will just work itself out. Ok, I've vented enough & he still hasn't come back downstairs. Thanks for listening to me!
  10. Thanks for sharing DB2B-- I'm getting married close to your time and had been wondering.
  11. That's interesting. I was wondering if it was safe but thought that since it's so common it must be. Thanks for sharing the info!
  12. I've gotta throw in my props for Prisar Vallarta wedding coordinators! Priscilla & Hector are fantastic and such an adorable couple. You'll love them!
  13. The foot jewelry is really pretty! That's giving me something to think about other than wedges! Congrats!
  14. I checked out River Cafe when in PV last month. It's location is really cool- on an island in the river. We didn't eat there but it looked great! Congratulations! I think a welcome lunch sounds like a great idea and from there the guests can walk to the Malecon to enjoy the rest of their day!
  15. To be honest-- I haven't figured out what package I'm going to go with yet. We've given our WC the deposit for Paulina & have the package information. I was given 3 package options- 5 hours, 7 hours, or 8 hours (the 8 hours also includes a pre-wedding shoot). 5 hours includes 150 pics, 7 hours = 250, and 8 hours = 350. I'm ok with shorter hours but I have a feeling once our parents get involved more hours will be requested. J&M- I think you may want at least 3 hours. You'll want the ceremony, then family & fun shots during cocktail hour and then some of the reception. Let me know what you decide!
  16. Good luck and congratulations!
  17. Welcome Lonna! Congratulations!
