  1. I think you just need to be honest about your feelings to the people you are closest to. After your destination wedding, you could have an AHR to celebrate if you like. It will be an opportunity for your friends and family to pay their respects.
  2. These are all good things to keep in mind. Our starting budget was put together with the most it could cost us. I am planning on being well under that at the end.
  3. We will tip our WC and our musician. Our reception already has gratuity built into it.
  4. I kinda wanted to have a dinner with just my BM's before the wedding. Not sure if this is feasible yet. Otherwise, the morning of.
  5. I have 2 and so does my FI, but i really am trying to figure out how to include his sister in the wedding party. We also may not match!
  6. I think Fmichelle's advice is really good. Try to narrow your feelings down about what the right move is. You are the only one that is going to ultimately know what is best for you.
  7. I love the vintage postcards. Also think the cartooning on your site is adorable! Did you do them yourself? The Magnum PI idea for your on island get together is HILARIOUS!
  8. I LOVE these! I definately think the suitcase makes it so unique! Would you be comfortable letting us know about how much you ended up spending per invitation. I am thinking that we may do something similar for our wedding cuz I love the MIB idea too.
  9. That's actually the reason I am so upset. I work as the Training Director for a high end restaurant group and customer service is my life. I am also lucky enough to work for a company in which the president will drop everything to speak to an unhappy guest. His leadership in service is the reason why our company is so accoladed and accomplished. I know I have high expectations, but if something had gone that wrong in one of our restaurants, I would want to know... Ugh!
  10. Sending ours a year out, but its going to be tough to wait!
  11. We are picking an activity each day that we want to do and then giving our guest the option to participate. So many of our guests want to do different things and they all want to do them with us! This way guests can do the things they want, but also not do anything if they want to. These are the things we are thinking about after talking to our guests about their interests... Snorkeling Trip on a Catamaran Road to Hana- one of the most scenic drives there is with cliffs, waterfalls and exploring along the way Sunrise atop Haleakela (volcano) and horseback riding Zipline tour Beach Day with Surf Lessons We are hosting a welcome get together, the wedding, reception and most likely a farewell brunch as well. I am going to create a log on our wedding website where guests can request more information on the activities they want to do and when they are taking place.
  12. Yep. Just caught fiance reading it too, but of course he was focused on the "wedding porn is brainwashing your fiance" part... Ha! Has anyone taken a look at their forums yet? Pretty funny to see weddings from a different perspective!
  13. Hmmm... Really interesting! Didn't think about using my BC to predict when I will get my period. Just never occured to me.
  14. Funny, I got one of these too! From my Mom. Who got it for me since I couldn't have cats in my apartment. Very creepy.
  15. We are going to start trying right away. FI and I are in our early 30's and want to have kids sooner than later. Since our wedding is 16 months away, I think I will probably go off the pill the week before my wedding or so.
  16. I'm glad you worked it out! Sometimes it just takes some time to get them to see your point of view:)
  17. I have seen alot of posts about beautiful fake flowers. I really never considered the idea of doing fake flowers, but am now reconsidering. It would be nice to be able to hang on to the bouquet for years to come! And I am amazed at how realistic alot of them look. How many people are doing fake flowers? Real ones? I am also curious how expensive fake bouquets are. How would I go about getting in touch with someone that could design something like this? We live in Wisconsin. Thanks so much!
