  1. My ring has too much detailing to have a band put next to it too. I will be wearing my Ering on my right hand and my wedding band on my left.
  2. We are doing OOT bags with small goodies but are also incorporating a 10 dollar gift certificate to rent snorkel equiptment for the week ( starts at $9 pp at our hotel) and possibly an underwater camera if I can find affordable ones. Guests who don't snorkel will also be able to use the certificate towards boogie boards or surf board rentals or cabanas. We are not getting married at an all-inclusive (Maui), so we thought this would be a great way to host an activity since our resort is right on the beach and near a great spot for snorkeling! My fiancee wasn't into the OOT bag until I figured out a way to turn it into an activity for our guests as well! Did anyone that didn't stay at an AI do travel mugs, and were they used. I originally wanted some for excursions, but now am thinking that they won't be utilized... We won't be doing personalized bags. I am going to print a card with our logo on each and tie them to the bags we choose. Still trying to figure this out! This thread has been extremely helpful.
  3. I have never heard of these either! At least not beach size! http://www.usefulthings.com/shop/home/pill-towel.php Reminds me of those dinosaur sponges that looked like a capsule that I played with as a kid.

  5. Rebecca, I really like the way you worded the non-hosted events on your itinerary! Very classy!
  6. clgriffi7- Sounds like we are getting married to the same man;) I also did an excel spreadsheet and my fiancee insisted on his own. When we compared side by side, he definately freaked out a little as it was almost double his. Understand that my spreadsheet is EVERYTHING that we could possibly spend on, including our honeymoon, gas, activities, etc. I wanted to figure out what the highest number we could spend was, so I could budget correctly and not have to worry about those extras that creep up on people. We are paying for our own wedding. Over time he has definately softened. Especially when he realized that I had a plan to take care of everything.
  7. The first thing you need to do is communicate how dissapointed you are. There is still time to fix the problem. Did you send pictures of what you had envisioned? If not, I would do so immediately. I work in hospitality and have found that most vendors are eager to fix issues and create a happy customer. It's what they build their reputation on. Let them know your dissatisfaction and make sure that you are clear and concise about what needs to be fixed. I find that visuals usually help alot! Try not to stress too much yet! It will all work out!
  8. I have a diva cup and really like it. It's more comfortable for me than tampons and I have never had "leakage" problems that can happen when you bleed through a tampon. Ewww! It does take some getting used to.
  9. I am really fair-skinned and love spray tanning because I actually get color that looks real. For my wedding, I am booking a Makeup artist that will do a hand sprayed application, but will also probably spend some time in a bed so my skin can get used to the sun exposure. I am planning on using alot of sunscreen!
  10. I also love mystic tanning booths. As far as the bottled stuff, Lancome definately makes the best!
  11. That's a really good point. I could just see my friends uploading all their photos while we are honeymooning. I might have to do the same!
  12. OK, here's the back story! I have a vintage engagement ring from the 1920's that my FI bought from a fantastic private jeweler in Chicago. It has a large stone in the middle and paveed diamonds and blue sapphires around it. A few weeks ago, we were shopping locally for a men's band for my FI. While looking at a chain jeweler, the woman who was showing us bands offered to clean my engagement ring while we were looking. In the meantime, my FI got a business call and left the store for a minute to answer it. After the machine was done cleaning the ring, I watched her remove it from the machine and then drop and step on it while she was walking back toward me. She examined the ring, got this "oh shit" expression on her face and picked something up off the floor. She smiled at me uneasily as she quickly walked past me and then beelined to her manager and proceeded to whisper in his ear for the next minute. The manager approached me and immediately started asking me questions about the ring. When was it made? Where had I bought it? How long had I had it? I asked why he was asking. He responded that when cleaning the ring, THE MACHINE knocked one of the diamonds out of it. I told him that I saw the girl drop and step on the ring and he responded that I must have IMAGINED it. He then said that I might want to take the ring back to our jeweler to have it checked out and handed me the ring in a plastic bag. The girl then returned and asked what other bands I might want to see like nothing had ever happened. Of course, I was extremely emotional at this point. Not only did they knock the diamond out, they were offering to do nothing to fix the problem and were denying that it was their problem to deal with. I left the store and found my FI, who went back in and demanded to get everyone's name involved and the manager's boss's number which they were reluctant to give us. We brought the ring back to our jeweler who fixed it for free. I left a message with the boss of the manager we spoke to several times to express my dissatisfaction with the whole scenario, and have not received a return call. I placed call number 4 today and again no answer. My FI thinks I should just get over it at this point, but I am still so pissed that we were treated this way and I get what he is saying. The ring is fixed and obviously we are never going back to that jeweler. But I am still irritated. It doesn't help that I work in hospitality. I really want to convey to someone how upset I am. Should I just let it go?
  13. German all the way:) My FI is Taiwanese.
  14. We are getting married in Maui and will be there for a week with our friends and family. We are then going to honeymoon 6 nights in Kauai and 2 in Oahu before returning home!

  16. We are doing a private table at a public luau instead of a traditional reception. I think we will end up going out after and maybe at one of our friends rooms or on the beach after that!
  17. I am thinking that I will probably end up paying for BM's dresses (only have 2) and have them take care of their own alterations. I am also going to pay for their hair appointments as part of a package deal as well as hair for my mom and my FMIL.
  18. I am thinking of doing Pandora bracelets with custom charms for each BM.
  19. We waited until the important people in our life knew, but I was dying to update my status!!
