  1. Congratulations! Great information. I love that you went over the top with your welcome book. I think that our's is gonna be a novel as well:)
  2. Most people I have talked to request a tentative RSVP on the STD's. I think this is what we will do...
  3. What site did you do your welcome books through? I love this idea! How much did they cost you?
  4. I really like the bags. I think the size should reflect what you are going to put in them. I like that you are trying to be creative with how to pack everything. Lugging so much stuff with us has been my biggest fear and we have be deliberating about what we are going to do as well. We are going to look at shipping everything, but will see I guess... Our other thought was to purchase alot when we got there, but I worry that I won't find the things that I am looking for or will have to pay a premium prices for things because of no other options.
  5. It is very horror-esque (gorey)! There are also a couple of sex scenes that are pretty graphic...
  6. Ewedding is the site that we are using. We are starting with the free site and are then going to update to the silver when we let everyone know about the site on the STD's. (We are upgrading so that we can have our own domain name...) Great job getting your FI to work on the spreadsheet:) My FI's job was to tackle all areas photo related since he knows alot about photography. He has been incredibly helpful in knowing what questions to ask, what pricing is legit and what we do and don't need. You will hear alot of mixed opinions about whether or not to include other resorts in your booking info for guests. For me, it would be more important to have guests be able to make it, regardless of the resort. Other brides are counting on the unlimited access as part of their wedding budget. The choice for you will depend on your budget and what you want. I will also say that it is easy to overwhelm guests with too many choices, so if you decide to go this route, give one or two others in lesser price points. Your dress is beautiful. I love the detailing! Are you getting it in the color shown? I am looking to purchase a dress that is a non-traditional color. Possibly blush, coral, lavender or light blue.
  7. I love the planning process and found it to be cheaper for my guests not to go through a TA. (I talked to 4 before making the decision...) I am working on a discount through the airline and have a block of rooms reserved at the resort. I have found several sites that are making the planning process easy for our guests...
  8. Congratulations to you! I am sure you will find everyone here really helpful.
  9. Congrats! Love your profile name!
  10. Yeah! Another 2012 bride! Congrats!
  11. Ooohhh! Fiji! I had looked at Fiji but settled on Maui as our destination! Congratulations! This site will be alot of help to you! (If i could have chosen anywhere, it would have been Tahiti:)
  12. This solidifies in my mind how much I want to do this. Maybe on our honeymoon...
  13. I love those. Way cuter than the one that I am waiting for from cheap totes!
  14. OMG! Way darker than I realized it was going to be! My mom is a dancer and I am pretty in tune with the ballet world, but never expected to be flinching and closing my eyes throughout this movie. 6 ladies got up and left within the first half hour. I have to give credit to Natalie Portman, who not only danced the part beautifully, but also was a phenomenal actress. She deserves an Oscar for her performance.
  15. I work in the restaurant industry which can be kinda incestuous. We have about 750 employees and have had 16 marriages over the 20+ years we have been in business! THAT BEING SAID, in any case of a supervisor dating an employee, one of the two has gotten transferred. I can not believe that you have to tolerate this nonsense! I am the outspoken one of my friends, and probably would say something. The GM is setting herself up for a lawsuit for discrimination.
  16. The tie story is hilarious! I love the pic of you on the couch...
  17. Responsibility: Cleaning the House! Ugh!
  18. Ooohhh. Hard one! Champagne. Bridalplasty or Bridezillas
  19. I think that in any social network, there are cliques. But I have found people to be incredibly helpful, especially when they see you are going to contribute... I think there are a lot of people that come on here and ask a question or two and then you never see them again. I can see how that would get frustrating or annoying to others. BTW- I think the midwest brides should unite:)
  20. Like (cookies more than bread)!! Butter burgers?
  21. If you are not familiar with traveling, a TA might be the better route for you. You are not responsible for arranging all the travel for your guests, but the easier you can make it for them, the more likely they will be to come. None of my guests have ever been to Hawaii before and because of that fact, I want them to be prepared for the costs associated before booking. Things like needing a rental car and average flight costs. Also the price of excursions. I didn't want them to get there and then to be surprised by how much things cost. Hawaii definately has the perception of being expensive, but through research I have made it really affordable. It really is only going to end up costing our guests $1000-$1500 pp for travel, hotel and car which isn't that bad. I also really enjoy the researching process. My FI jokes that I am the planning Nazi, because I am so anal about it, but I like to have all the questions answered beforehand so that when it comes down to the actual vacation part, I can sit back and enjoy:) I always thought that I would make a good TA.... I am also really happy with the number of guests attending. I have a really small family and so does my FI! I really only wanted 15 people and my number has doubled, so I am hoping that I can still maintain the intimate feel that I wanted. You should post pics of your dress! We would love to see:)
  22. I would look to another vendor and demand your money back. I would eat the shipping costs but demand the rest. You shouldn't have to pay for something that isn't what you envisioned, ESPECIALLY since you were so thorough. I purchase through etsy alot and did have an issue with an item that wasn't what was advertised. She ended up refunding me.
