  4. Mine is in my siggy....by fellower BDWer "becks". She is AMAZZZZING! Just Google "Allurements by Rebecca" and you'll know what I am talking about!
  5. Not only is my FI my heart and soul, and ultimate LAUGH BUDDY.....he also CLEANS MORE THAN ME!! Often, I will come home, and not only are my clothes washed and dried, but they are laid out, almost pressed-looking, on our bed, for me to hang up as I choose. And our antiquated apartment doesn't have a dishwasher, but (since I cook the vast majority of our meals), John has already washed the dishes 99% of the time before I come home from work. All I gotta say is...I love you Johnny Baby!
  6. OTHER-WORLDLY amounts of CRAZINESS have been going on here! And I thought my cousin was in poor taste for making us PAY for sodas....
  7. LOVE!!! Somebody being a "close talker"?
  8. SOOOOOOOOOOOOO Gorgeous! If I had the money, I would so TOTALLY do some of these ideas!
  9. Ok...so here is my take on the situation: This is why I didn't have bridesmaids. I felt that it was already enough to ask those that we love to come to our DW, and we couldn't ask them to spend additional money on dresses, etc. to be in our bridal party. Neither he, nor I, will have a best man, maid/matron of honor, groomsmen, bridesmaids, etc. I, personally, thought that would be too much, regardless of the economic crisis we all now find ourselves in. John & I can't pay for their additional fees, so HOW should we expect them to come up with the money themselves? Just not fair... SO SORRY to hear of your troubles.....hoping things work out all right!
  10. You're gonna LOVE being a part of this amazing forum!!! My best advice as you start down the road to your wedding day would be just to take your time and do lots of research before you book or buy anything (attire, flowers, you name it!) and make sure it's all that you've envisioned for your BIG DAY! And that's where this phenomenal site comes in: BDW has proven to be invaluable in my planning, and it's comforting to know that there are other brides and grooms out there experiencing the same highs and lows during their planning process -- a friend is always just on the other side of your computer screen! CONGRATULATIONS and Welcome to BDW...it's a wedding-planning paradise!

  13. WELCOME to the forum, either way! There is SOOOOO much more here to discover, and you will find BDW to be THE BEST resource for your wedding, as a whole. Good luck!
  14. I love the look of the second dress YOU were wearing...on YOU! Your waist looked SO SVELTE, tiny and lovely, and the ONLY THING that would be necessary for that dress to look totally perfect would be a bit of alteration at the bust! Aside from that, my choice for an option B dress would be.....maybe dress 5, but I still think the 2nd dress you wore in your photos is YOUR dress with a few nips n' tucks!
  15. OMG! And WHAT A PRICE!!! Love it........a lot! I say forget wearing it to a cruise, if you want, and feel super confident while trashing the hell out of it!
  16. Yea! I'm guess I'm feelin' your vibe, and we're on the same page, sweetheart! Glad you liked my comparison dress to show you that other fabulous pink gowns are out there... And again, whatever is YOUR dream dress (which the one you've selected is more than glamorous and divine!) as a bride is EXACTLY what you should wear! There should be no "what will people say?" about this... YOUR opinion and yours alone is what should determine what you wear. Period. My dress is actually Light Gold (not white!), if it makes you feel any better! I went with Sottero & Midgley RSM1038 and the light gold color is the color of the sample they brought in when I went to try it on (I thought I wanted the traditional stark white) but it turned out that the gold tones complmented my skin tone MUCH better! So, see if your bridal salon can bring the pink version of the dress in for you to try on, and THEN make your final decision on what you'd like to get! Whether or not you end up with the dress in pink, in white, or even in a potato sack, you will still be the most BEAUTIFUL bride your groom (not to mention your family and friends) have ever seen because you will be wearing what YOU love!!
  17. Talk to the salon where you might be ordering the DREAM DRESS from....they might tell you some good news after all! When I ordered my Sottero & Midgley, I was told that it would take 4 months for it to come in and about 1 month later, I had gotten a call that it had arrived at the salon and was ready for me to try on again, but this time, it was my actual dress and not the sample! So.....things can work out as far as the timing is concerned. Or, if you're not getting it from a salon, check out pre-owned wedding dress sites (there are some really good ones with mid-high end dresses like http://www.preownedweddingdresses.com/). And about your FI -- tell him that it will break your heart to wear anything less than your dream dress, and that you got the other dresses because you felt like you had no choice. If you can make him understand that you're not getting a different dress to be frivilous (men don't understand the actual emotional connection women have to clothing, particularly their WEDDING DRESS!), then maybe you will be able to get his support and approval. And, it's not a bad idea to remind him that any smart groom should know that he should do whatever is necessary for his bride not to be brokenhearted....it generally makes for a better wedding night for him in the end, if you know what I'm getting at! Good luck and I say go with your heart and get YOUR dress -- it's the most special dress you will ever wear in your life, and you should certainly have the one you love! P.S. I checked out your Lavina on the Maggie site -- it's a magnificent gown and I can totally understand why you are so smitten with it!
