  1. Your dress is stunning.....and you want your man to look like he matches the beautiful bride, right?! I am with everyone else who has said that for the occasion, he really probably ought to wear pants. I think it will just look "off balanced" if your are super glam and he's beach-casual, you know?! Use your best judgement on what he's going to wear, but just remember the happiness that you both will be feeling will shine through whatever attire you have on! Even in a burlap sack, a bride could still look like a knock-out!
  2. WOW, MELISSA!!! You look beautiful! I love the way she did your eye make-up so that they "pop", your skin looks like it is absolutely glowing, and the little splash of just the right color on your lips finishes the pretty picture! (Oh, and I know how frustrating it can be to have bent glasses, too, but I hardly noticed because you just look so great underneath them!) Give your cousin a big hug, a high-five, and tell her she is on the right career track because if your wedding trial make-up is any indication, she is in the right field! Congratulations
  3. Oh, Erika!! I am sooooooo endlessly sorry to hear about your accident! I agree that the ladies of BDW are among the kindest, most giving people I have had the pleasure to interact with. HOW WONDERFUL THEY ALL ARE for taking the time and effort to put together a get-well gift for you! WAY TO BE AMAZING, LADIES!!! And Erika, my thoughts are with you as you continue your healing process.
  4. Geesh, what is wrong with some people?!? HILARIOUS!
  5. So, a phone call it should be, then! I understand where you are coming from in wanting to tell them that way....it really is the next best thing to telling them in person, but then you won't have to worry about whether or not they are going to flip out and physically assault you! My heart truly goes out to you. And, that is just awful that they've had you in the hospital 3 times due to their nonsense! I couldn't believe it when I read that. Do they know this? And how can they not feel absolutely like sh*t for doing that to you? Ugh! Funny Side note: as far as the town names, we have some pretty absurd ones here in Pennsylvania, too -- Intercourse, Blue Ball, Bird In Hand -- they are all real places and people usually don't believe me when I tell them, either!
  6. That's cute, Vanessa! I haven't seen anything quite like it yet, and that's a good thing! I think you ought to keep it just the way it is
  7. You're gonna LOVE being a part of this amazing forum!!! My best advice as you start down the road to your wedding day would be just to take your time and do lots of research before you book or buy anything (attire, flowers, you name it!) and make sure it's all that you've envisioned for your BIG DAY! And that's where this phenomenal site comes in: BDW has proven to be invaluable in my planning, and it's comforting to know that there are other brides and grooms out there experiencing the same highs and lows during their planning process -- a friend is always just on the other side of your computer screen! CONGRATULATIONS and Welcome to BDW...it's a wedding-planning paradise!

  12. Soooooo beautiful! You were a stunning bride, for sure, and it looks like your wedding at ROR was magnificent
  13. LOVE that show.....way too hilarious!
  14. WOWIE, DARCY! You look super hot & sultry, and your soon-to-be husband is gonna flip at how hot his lady looks..... CONGRATS on a successful BP session!
  15. Great job, Karima!!! I ADORE YOUR t-shirts, and I love the way all of the other things are tied together with the same central theme -- how beautiful!
  16. I'm not planning to do centerpieces for our actual wedding in Jamaica (we only expect a very small number of guests, so I may change my mind on that), but for our AHR, I want to do something candle-based, with flower petals (instead of a huge floral arrangement). That way, you still can incorporate flowers, but not spend a fortune! Oh, and I agree, you should check out that thread Ginalyn recommended....awesome ideas there!
  17. Michele -- If I could hire you to do something, I SO TOTALLY WOULD, sweetheart!!! I AM SO SORRY to hear about what a tough time you're having since the economy tanked! They're not the most ideal, but have you gone to any temp. agencies? I know it might not be what you do in your field, but perhaps you could do some administrative work or something like that for a little while until things start to improve. Or, is there anywhere you'd like to volunteer? Even though you wouldn't be making any money, it would be a way to get out of the house and feel good about yourself by helping others....just an idea. Good luck and we're pulling for you!
  18. So, have you give it any more thought, and make up your mind officially on what you'd like to do?
  19. CONGRATULATIONS!!! Hoping that everything is going more than "irie" for your wedding in beautiful JAMAICA!!
  20. Oh......you poor thing, love! Family drama is just the worst, you know? It makes me think of that saying, "You can pick your friends, but you can't pick your family". Let me start by saying, I AM SO SORRY to hear about all of this drama; you seem like such a sweet, kind, and thoughtful person, and I would have had no idea that there was something like this going on in your life, because you are always so upbeat in your posts. Whenever they get you down, always remember you BDW sisters are here and we support you in whatever decisions you make, wedding-related or not! Now, here's my advice on how to deal with this: I would write a letter, because you can't interrupt a letter when it's speaking, you can't hang up on a letter and you can't scream at a letter, and unlike a conversation, a letter can be re-read again and again until maybe your point will get across. And seriously, they would HIT you for have a DW at WDW?!?!? WTF - you're right; they DO have major issues they need to work out! No one should have to be that afraid to tell their family about what should be one of the happiest events in their life! Stay strong, and once more, we're here for you if you need someone in your corner! P.S. And yes, I was snickering at the name of the town, too! Who names a town "DILDO" anyway?
  21. Woo-HOO!!!! CONGRATS on going with your heart, and you know that you will HAVE to show us pics of you in the dress now, right?!?! It's a BDW obligation! chanting.....PIC-TURES! PIC-TURES! PIC-TURES!
