#2 all the way!!! Way more vibrant and youthful, and a lot more "tropical" in the feeling you get from it (you're right -- the first combo reminds me of the 90's too, so it's funny you said that was your cousin's color combo from that era specifically!) Stick with the 2nd combo and it will still feel fresh, fun and modern -- you should definitely be good to go!

John has a total man crush on Daniel Craig (after Casino Royale came out, it was all over)! He kept saying, "I think he's my favorite James Bond so far....yeah, he's my favorite" and I was like "OK ALREADY! I know it's hard not to get lost in those huge, dreamy blue eyes, but try to focus dear", and he's always like, "Tuh - whatever!" It makes me giggle everytime....

Khloe Kardashian to Get Married - This Weekend!
islandbride317 replied to Cassie's topic in Celebrity Gossip!
CONGRATULATIONS to KHLOE!! Whew -- what a ring, right?!? I think that's marvelous that she's married, but it happened so suddenly, I had to do a double take when I was in a convenience store over the weekend and saw the cover of "Ok!" magazine saying she'd gotten hitched! I was like, "Who is THIS guy?" and thought if anyone would be getting married in that family, perhaps it would be Kourtney, since she's with-child and all! The Kardashian Klan can certainly keep us guessing and on our toes! -
Jon & Kate plus 8 *series finale tonight 11/23*
islandbride317 replied to Alyssa's topic in Celebrity Gossip!
What a scumbag!!! What is she supposed to do with a measley $1000? UNBELIEVABLE!!!That probably won't even be enough to buy groceries for 8 kids to last a week! I CANNOT believe he wants to kiss and make up in one breath and then screw not only Kate over, but THEIR children too, like this....Jon Gosselin will not be in the running for Father of the Year anytime soon! Matter of fact, it should be criminal what he is doing! -
Breaking News!
islandbride317 replied to JenniferSS's topic in Sandals, Beaches, and Royal Plantation Resorts Weddings
Anyone heard anything further about the pricing? I would imagine it's just as high as the Preston Baily collections were, since Martha Stewart is such a big name.... And Bosi, please don't take this the wrong way, but I don't understand what you mean by "They do say that all the weddings will be martha stewart weddings so will I be able to plan what I want/"? As far as I understand, like with the Preston Bailey packages, you will only have the Martha Stewart trimmings if you pay the extra $1000 + to expand the Carefree/Basic package. If you know something more about this, please correct me if I am wrong (or clarify what you meant because I am a little confused). Hopefully, I am wrong! -
Yea!!! Congratulations to 2 fabulous, totally-deserving ladies!

I agree with the other girls -- make sure all of the details are spelled out in writing and that there are no "grey" areas in your contract, and you should be fine. And, as far as payment is concerned, I was asked to put down a percentage of the final cost as a deposit, and it is up to me whether or not I pay the remainder before hand or on our actual wedding day (which, since I have other things to pay for in the meantime, I plan to pay the balance in advance, but when we get closer to the wedding). As long as you maintain good communication with your photographer, and ask any and all questions you may have so that you are 100% clear on how things are going to work, you should have a pleasant experience (but just make sure that all details are covered specifically in your contract/terms of agreement before you send the full amount... because once they check is in the mail, it can be a lot harder to find a leg to stand on if something is missing or "off" with your contract!) Good luck!

Dress Change
islandbride317 replied to bearbunny's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
Oh, WOW! What a dress -- it's beautiful, and so unique (LOVE the flowers)!! I think it is important to get the dress of your dreams, even if you already bought one and later on it didn't feel like the right one....I was in the same position as you at one point, and I went with my heart and got my dream dress after all (I'll still be wearing the 1st one I bought for our AHR). CONGRATULATIONS -- it's a fantastic gown! -
Jamaican Wedding Cake

It is a very heavy cake, but alot of people like it. It is not like American fruit cake it is dark and sometimes referred to as "Black" cake. It is an acquired taste. The resort wont substitute the fruit cake for a "regular" or yellow cake? Hope this helps. THANKS SO MUCH for the excellent explanation! I too am getting married in Jamaica (at a Sandals resort), and I have the choice between vanilla, chocolate or Caribbean Fruit, and based on your description, I now have made my decision to go with vanilla (even though I would probably love the caribbean cake, I wonder if my guests will, so vanilla it is to be on the safe side)! HIGH-FIVES and thanks for your insight! -
My dress found me!!!
islandbride317 replied to damaris's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
So incredibly beautiful, it's hard to find words! Jaws will drop and breath will catch in people's throats when they see you....truly a "breathtaking" gown, Damaris! CONGRATULATIONS -- you're gonna be a knock out bride! -

Personally, Damaris, I don't know how to break it to you but......IT'S FABULOUS!!! Hell yes, ostrich feathers! I think it's funky and chic, and a totally perfect dress to cut loose and have a ball at your reception! And since you work in fashion in the "fashion capital of the world", I think your guests will expect to see something a little more cutting edge and fashion-forward from you, so it'll totally be amazing on all fronts! CONGRATULATIONS, on your luxe-looking, lighthearted reception gown, girl! You nailed it!

Who's ready for...(drum roll).. THE HILLS!
islandbride317 replied to Jacqueline's topic in Celebrity Gossip!
In some circles, I might be embarassed to admit this but, I couldn't WAIT for this damn show to come back from hiatus!!! And even though I think it's weird without Lauren (and having Kristen instead), I think it will definitely keep people tuning in to see who she's "screwing or screwing OVER" from week to week. The promos they were running sort of seemed like a throw back to the Melrose Place days (ie. Kristen is to The Hills as Heather Locklear's character was to Melrose Place). All I have to say is Kristen is lucky to be back in the spotlight -- what happened to her after she was off Laguna Beach? She was in a few tabloids and then she faded into obscurity....but now, SHE'S BA-AACCCKK! -

THANKS so much for your enthusiasm and for noticing that I really DID try to put a lot of thought and attention into the details! Let me tell you, I was beside myself more excitement than any normal woman should have when I found those damn stamps on Zazzle, too! I felt a sense of victory I don't really think I can convey in words, really.....and if that makes me "matchy-matchy", then so be it and that is a title I will wear with pride, you know?! Oh, and to Jessica -- if you love the paper, I wanted to say it was only $6.79 for a pack of 100 sheets, so it was only a little over $9.00 with shipping (I thought I'd mention it just in case they don't carry it in your local Office Max store) so you don't have to go on a wild goose chase looking for it! And HUGS to all of my other super-sweet BDW sisters for chiming in and making me feel really proud of my efforts and the end result!
