  1. These are our “Postcards from Paradise”, also for our oot bags. On the back, they are addressed to us and say “Memories from Puerto Vallarta” – I’ll stamp them before we go. I got the personalized pens from OTC, and printed the little note myself (see doc attached). And finally, a few thank yous – I used a vistaprint template and just added our monogram. More to come later with my second vistaprint order! Thanks for looking! Kate
  2. Vistaprint!) I’ve received my first batch of Vistaprint creations! Thanks to everyone on here who gave me, literally, all of these ideas. First, here are my menus and programs. I printed the menus as vistaprint brochures, so I have three per brochure. The programs are oversized postcards and are approximately the size of half a normal piece of paper. The menus will be placed in the napkins on the tables at the reception and our WC will wrap the napkins with ribbon (like the ribbon on the luggage tags below). I just quickly cut one and placed it on the cardstock that I will be framing them on, so ignore the fact that nothing is cut very straight. Steve is going to take them to work and cut them with their big blade thing. I’m not sure how I’ll glue them to the cardstock, but I’m thinking maybe gluedots….suggestions welcome! Next, here are the luggage tags. They are printed as business cards – thanks and credit go to Becks, Tara (tvt) and JessicaM for these. Here are our doorhangers to go in our oot bags. I know that there are safety concerns with guests using these, but since it will really only be our guests are our resort (with “takeover”), this isn’t a concern for us. If you’re at a big resort, note that these are not recommended! I’ll either cut a circle in the top to go over the doorknob or put a hole with a ribbon loop…Thanks to Kate (LALA) for this idea! 3. Thanks Carrie!!! ahaha, I love the note at the bottom!! What do you think you'll end up having as a prize?
  4. We're doing something like this - our photographer offers a "True Romance" shoot, which is a combination of engagement/ttd pics. You can check out her pics at Michelle Turner Photography - Maine and Destination Wedding Photography and see what the True Romance shoot looks like. Usually, they are done both in town and on the beach.
  5. There are lots of brides on here from Canada, and quite a few from the GTA! If you search for Canada and Canadian, you'll find lots of threads. Here are a few about Canadian vs USA suppliers: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t27024 http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t13522 http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t7378 I ordered some things from the States - like my shoes, my pashminas for OOT bags, etc - I got a lot of stuff off Oriental Trading Company for my oot bags, since they have a good shipping policy to Canada and there are never any surprises with duty, etc. Good luck!!
  6. I googled "order of processional" and got a few suggestions for you for the "traditional way" - I think you can pretty much do whatever you want, though! 7. I have a sand dollar image - it is black and white but you can re-colour it in powerpoint or photoshop if you want a different colour. Hope this helps!

I think Kate's right - if you have booked PF on your own (ie, not through an agent), then you can't get an agent to book the rooms now. I mean, you can, but since it is non-commissioned, a TA will charge a per service fee to do this. We asked around and most TAs charged upwards of $25 per person to book the hotel room. Since the PF booking engine is so easy to work with, we decided it would be better to have our guests do it themselves. We did offer a group rate on airfare, though, and just over half of our booked guests used it.
  9. Wow - looks great!! I love the CDS - fantastic mix. And I love the bling table # holders!
  10. Those prices don't seem too far off-base to me. At Playa Fiesta, the trio is $500 per hour, the 10 piece mariachi band is $700 per hour, and the DJ is $600 for the entire night (flat fee).
  11. Wow, those are great!! Thanks!!! I love the first one with the starfish. In case anyone wants it, I have the double palm tree one in orange...I forget where I got it or if I recoloured it myself, but here it is in high res.
  12. sounds like a really fun night! be sure to post the details after!

I don't really need much! In two weeks!!! I'm an old prude too...one glass of wine with dinner is usually my limit....can't really remember the last time I had more than one...be sure to post pics!!! We're thinking The Bay (Canada's equivalent to Macy's). There is one everywhere and you can buy online - we don't need a lot either.

I know - we didn't want to register, but I've had two aunts ask us to because they are throwing us showers and our families are definitely registry-buyers. Still haven't decided....should get on that

I doubt a lot of the guests coming to our wedding will get us anything, and we've been clear that we don't expect them to - they are paying enough to come to the wedding. But my Mom has had a few people who were invited but can't come tell her that they want to get us something...and I wondered what everyone else thought of that....thanks for your input!!
  16. I was just reading another thread about how many people were invited to your DW and how many can attend (http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t28518) and wondered about the etiquette for those who were invited but RSVP'ed no....do these people buy a gift for the couple? I know I always send a gift to a couple if I was invited to their wedding but can't attend, but wondered if it is different for a DW??
  17. 18. It will be here before we know it, ladies!!! My main projects right now are making DIY luggage tags, pre-wedding welcome brochure (won't send out until Dec), menus and programs. And Steve needs to buys his suit
  19. We're planning on doing one - Evolution of Dance style! I'm super excited about it - I think our guests will absolutely love it!! We don't have a lot of rhythm, so we'd better start practicing now
  20. It is neat that you brought this up, Yari - this is a really huge issue right now in Ontario. The CPSO, our provincial regulatory body for physicians, has drafted a policy making exercising religious/moral beliefs while working grounds for misconduct. The policy was drafted because of new changes to our human rights code that will make physicians subject to complaints on the basis of discrimination if they did something like, say, refuse to prescribe BC pills. Just like on here, it is really controversial! But show me something about religion that isn't
  21. Hmmm....I'm not sure about the flourishes - have you tried google images, flikr, and microsoft clipart? Those are the three I use the most often. I didn't do pocketfold invites, but a lot of brides on here use this site: Cards & Pockets Try searching for some inspiration pics on here. Good luck!
