  1. Wow, everything looks great Tami!! The "last minute" stuff really came together. I especially love the tablecloths, runners, and placemats (and they are in my colours, so if you are wanting to sell them, I'd gladly take them off your hands!!). Congrats!!
  2. Sounds like fun! I'll have to shop online since I am living in Switzerland for a few months(unless my giftee really likes chocolate), but that should be easy enough! And my FI can receive anything that arrives at our house before I get back mid-July.
  3. Have fun! Can't wait to hear all about it. We're getting married at Playa Fiesta, but booked sight unseen, on the basis of all the reviews, talking to Adam and Lindsay, etc. I'd love to hear what you think when you get back.
  4. Congratulations and have fun!! Can't wait to hear all about it.
  5. What a beautiful book! I have to keep this in mind for when my sis gets married. Thank you for sharing!
  6. Yeah, since I've signed up I think they've had 10 "Our Best Sale Ever"s. So make sure you never buy anything at full price from them!
  7. Including them in a sand ceremony might be something to look at - search here for "sand ceremony" and you'll find lots of threads. It can be a great way to involve kids - young and old...
  8. Seems high! We're paying $12/person/hour. Have you asked about a consumption bar? If you're group isn't a big drinking group, this could be more economical.
  9. This is soooo frustrating! It doesn't make any sense - you did everything right! You told them the price way in advance (and the price is very reasonable), made sure they were okay with it....crazy!!! Please keep us updated on the situation.
  10. We're bringing this trunk down with us for cards: It's not too big - just large enough to fit a piece of paper - and we'll fill it with stuff in our suitcase so as not to take up much extra room.
  11. Ok...might be lame again....but something like "l give you my heart, my soul, and my body."
  12. Hey Kandys! There are a bunch of threads on this - here are a few: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t10913 http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t19722 http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t19497
  13. Thanks for sharing! Someone on here might want to split an order with you - maybe post this in the Buy/Sell/Trade forum!!
  14. Those look great Kirsten!! My fave is the one of you both leaning against the tree.
  15. We thought about this for awhile, and I read a TON of threads on OOT bags to see what people found really useful, etc. We decided to get just a few nice things - so we're doing pashminas for the ladies (under $4.50/pash) and sombreros for the men (under $2.50 per), plus some of the flip flop note pads, mexican themed coin purses, and customized pens from OTC. We're in the same boat as you - 35 bags - and wanted to stay around $10/bag. We tried to pick items we thought our guests would like, keeping in mind the avg age (no children coming), etc. Good luck!!
  16. Maura, could you upload it to a site like Send big files the easy way. Files too large for email attachments? No problem! and just post the link? Might save you some time! Or just email me the edited file and I'll post it for you!

  18. Hey Heather: I have ordered from OTC - here is my invoice: Order subtotal112.24 Duties10.35 Sales Tax15.94 Shipping Charge16.35 Handling Charge0.00 Order Total154.88 Once you get past the checkout, the site will take you to "Borderfree", which is a company that handles all the duty/shipping/taxes etc for their Canadian clients, ensuring you have no surprises at the border. It will also figure out the taxes (like for me, I had PST added) You have to go all the way past the checkout point (you can still cancel your order, so go ahead and get to the Borderfree site to see how much your total is). I used a coupon code too (just google "oriental trading company coupon code") which reduced my shipping costs. Here is a link with all the info for Canadian orders: Welcome to Oriental Trading Company Hope that helps!!
  19. Wow, Heidi!!! Those are all soooo beautiful! Where did you get them done? My fave is the one in the pink bra!
  20. Great pics!!! I agree - shirt #2 looks great with your dress for the wedding, and the blue is perfect for TTD. For the pants, would linen maybe be lighter for the wedding day, so Mike would be more comfortable spending the whole day in them?

I'm sorry about the long-distance thing, Ana - Steve and I did that for 2 years when he lived in England/Hong Kong and it was tough, but the visits were great and we are stronger for it, too. And you know you're doing the right thing! Maybe you can get a dog? Or an alarm system....
  22. Oh, and we were at a wedding last summer where the DJ would randomly go around to tables during dinner and play a snippet of a song that was a TV show theme....if the table guessed what TV show it was from, the couple kissed - if they didn't get it right, two people at the table had to kiss.
