    soooo...

lol, that's really fun!! I don't watch the show, but it would be so much fun if your old roomie won!!
  2. Yay!! I've been watching it all the time, even though I'm still 3 months away. I think if it goes over 90 cents, we'll buy all the USD we'll need for Mexico just in case.

I started with a blank brochure template, then I put in a black background, then added the text box and the Mexican themed artsy thing at the bottom (one of VP's stock photos). I copied this to all three panels of the front of the brochure, and then did the same process on the back. We got 25 brochures (they come in batches of 25), so we have 75 door hangers. It was pretty easy if you've worked in VP before. Steve took them to work to cut them and run them through the laminator. If you can laminate them, they are a little stiffer and will likely hold up through travel, etc, a bit better; however, the brochure paper was surprisingly sturdy so I wouldn't say it is necessary. I hope that helps....you , I think Becks posted a door hanger template that you could print on your own if you search for hers....I got the "No Molesta" idea from Kate (LALA), but I'm not sure if she ever posted a template.
  4. I think it's beautiful! I've seen so many great pics on here with trains, so I love a long train. But I agree with others, you can always get it shortened if you would prefer. I guess it depends a bit on how formal your event is, and what FI is wearing. And just a tip - you'll probably get more feedback from members if you actually post the pic, rather than attach it. Every time someone opens it, it take 50 points, so a lot of ppl won't open it....check this out: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t16832 Anyway, looks great!
  5. Our shower is scheduled for January as well. I really like that necklace!!
  6. We did something similar on our website...our options were something like "Absolutely, see you the beach!" and "Sorry, can't make it but have a margarita for me." We had some people come to us and say that they couldn't commit right now and asked when our "need to know" date was. But most people either committed right away or told us they wouldn't be able to make it.
  7. Yep, Janie that is a great price!! My guests are paying more but mainly due to airfare from Canada being more expensive to Puerto Vallarta. Still Playa Fiesta you're thinking then? And you're covering a D&E pack? I think that is really generous of you and I would be really excited to be a guest - that is a great deal!

Many of my photo's including my own wedding ones are yellowing already. I figured at some point I would have to go through them all and scan some of the important ones. What I could do now is select a combination of negatives and photos and send them all in, or even send the whole album. Still a daunting task to go through the boxes of negatives I have and the over 20 albums with 400 photo's in each . . . I just checked and they don't accept orders from Canada...yet. Under FAQ, it says they are working with US customs to figure out how best to do this and hope to accept Canadian orders soon. If I start sorting my pics now, maybe by the time I'm ready, they'll accept our orders Thanks for posting, Morgan!!

Yep, just let me know...I have a pack of 50 left over

  12. Tough one this time!! I'll nominate Yari for Mrs. and I have to think a bit for the B2B....
  13. Hi Rachel! I have the dress in a size 6 - never worn, tags still on! I bought it as a surprise for my MOH but by the time I gave it to her, she'd already bought another dress (a surprise to me!). I could ship it to you ASAP. I'll PM you my email address in case you're interested.
  14. What a well-written, honest review!! Even though I'm not a LC bride, I really appreciate such a thorough review and it is so helpful for all brides to be able to think about these things beforehand. Thank you Yari for taking the time, and I'm sure it took awhile, to put these thoughts together for us!! Your pictures are stunning BTW. Really, really beautiful.
  15. Yes, I'm stressed!!! When I put my deposit on the hotel and the photographer, the dollar was at par and now....omg!!! Plus, my guest's room rates are in USD....this sucks!! Maybe it will turn around by Feb?!? Wishful thinking...
  16. I'm thinking that was staged...but funny nonetheless!
  17. Sounds like a plan! Show us the new pics when you get them!! 16 rooms booked so far for next May is awesome!!!! Really, that is great. Keep us Kates posted
  18. hmmm....not quite sure how to handle that. I didn't list events on the RSVP card, but I did on our website (which is how most guests RSVP'ed). I was also clear that there was a fee for "off-site guests" to attend stuff at PF - like the regular day pass fee. I wonder if you could just include the price of the dinners in your day pass fee for those off-site? I think most ppl understand that there is a day pass required to participate in events at a resort you're not staying at. I'm not quite sure, since all my guests are staying at PF. Why don't you ask Lindsay - she'll have had lots of brides who've been in the same position and will likely have some better ideas for you!! Good luck.
  19. Reading your message, I know how you feel since I have many of the same thoughts. So I'm keeping my last name Especially in my profession, when you have built a reputation and client base, etc, based on you last name, this is pretty common. But it is a very personal decision!
  20. Happy Thanksgiving!! I think I'm stuffed enough to last until Christmas. Plus I have all the leftovers still....
  21. Welcome!! There's lots of info on here about DT - check out this thread, for example:http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t29989
