  1. I agree with what others have posted. Since you're having an AHR. you can give out the votive candles then, if you want to. And like Erin said....it might seem weird to get a candle in the mail.
  2. Heather I'm not much help b/c I really think you can't go wrong with either!!! They look beautiful....can't wait to see what you decide!!! Good job picking

  4. Ahhh Andrea - when you said that, you made me look at my ticker and it is 3 months today!!!! You're right, time will fly until January, but something tells me we might have so much to do in Jan that it will go by quick too. I haven't looked at my to-do list in a while...
  5. Since this post is duplicate, I replied to the one in the etiquette session. Maybe a mod can delete? thx!
  6. I think everyone is different and there is no such thing as "proper" anymore....when we were first planning, we tried to think as though we weren't getting any help and it would just be a bonus if our parents kicked in, just so we weren't counting on anything and were then disappointed. My parents have contributed a lot, which is wonderful, but we really weren't expecting anything!

  8. Awesome!! k, I'm getting so excited! Melissa, I'm going to pm you...could you send me the jpegs? I should pm this thread to the other Kate too....thanks again for posting!!!

The newest thing at the moment- our one cat "dunks" his play mice in the toilet, leaving puddles everywhere and wet gross mice laying around. ~~ haha!! That's so cute (but I'm not the one dealing with the puddles and wet mice, lol). You should check out Cats in Sinks - for all your cat and bathroom needs - dedicated to pictures of kitties in sinks.
  10. I got mine on ebay - if you search for "lot pashmina" you'll get the larger quantity ones, and you can always email the seller to see about a deal on a certain number.
  11. Our WC told us that in all the wedding she's done, she's only seen a few gifts and a few cards - most ppl won't bother trying to pack this to bring down. She told us that if ppl leave a card or something on the guest book table, she'll gather them at the end of dinner and take them to our room. Maybe if you just give your WC the heads up to look out for any gifts/cards??
  12. I kinda like this page too - paypal basics: How to Use PayPal: Basics and Beyond - Mahalo
  13. It's definitely worth it - there's so much buyer and seller protection on paypal, and once you get used to it you'll probably find it pretty easy. Here's a link to the paypal fees page. https://www.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/we...y-fees-outside Look at the section under "receive payments funded by credit card...." since that is how people will pay you - the % that paypal takes is there (click on the % for more info). Not the most user-friendly chart, but for instance, I have a premier account but get less than $3,000 a month put into my account, so paypal takes 2.9% plus 30 cents for each transaction. If you sell stuff on here, members can easily pay you using the email address of your paypal account. Good luck! Really, once you get used to it paypal is easy and really convenient for buying and selling.

Does anyone have an answer to this? hmmm...I'm not sure on this, since we're getting legally married here before we go. Can you ask your WC?? I know if we wanted to do a legal marriage at our resort, they would have helped with the paperwork and everything, but I don't think we needed a diff minister....good luck!
  15. Yes, definitely take lots of pics and post them when you get back!! Have a great scouting trip, and hope you find the perfect venue for you!!
  16. Hey everyone – I have the following extras for sale…I went a little crazy buying stuff and I’m trying to clear out my “wedding room”. PM me if interested! Pashminas: I bought too many pashminas, so I have 10 for sale. I bought orange, aqua, and cream/ivory – since I haven’t used any yet, you can have your choice of whatever mix of these colours you want. The orange has a slight paisley pattern to it while the aqua and cream/ivory are solid. I bought them for $6.50 a piece and will sell for $4 a piece (plus shipping). They are still in their original packaging. Luggage tag holders: These are clear vertical badge holders and measure 2-3/8 inch x 3-3/8 inch. I didn’t buy the plastic straps, since I’m using ribbon but I know you can get the straps separately on Amazon if you want. I have 53 tag holders left. I bought them for about $20 and will sell for $12 plus shipping. In these pics, I've inserted a standard business card (from vistaprint). Sombreros – bought these on OTC for $24.99/dozen. We’re giving them to the guys in their OOT bags. They’re called “embroidered adult sombreros”. I have 10 of these, and will sell for $15 plus shipping. Sticky foot-shaped notepads – I’m putting these in the OOT bags. They are pretty small – about 3 inch X 1 inch. I bought them from OTC for $3.50 a dozen (I think – I can’t find them on the website anymore). I have 4 dozen extra (still in packaging) and will sell for $2/dozen. EDIT: Here's another pic of the sombreros
  17. We're doing this too. Have you checked out the thread Ana started, kinda along the same idea? http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t30437 For us, we liked that this meant we could use our own officiant (in addition to saving the hassle and $$ of doing the legal requirement down there).
  18. amazing Tara!!! I'm exhausted just looking at all your stuff Your day is sure to be wonderful!!
  19. so the beach right outside isn't rocky anymore?!? that is crazy!! I think it looks so good. And imagine on wedding night with the dance floor bridge....
  20. worked perfectly Melissa!!! Thanks for posting - did Lindsay send that to you? I think it looks soooo great. Aaaah - getting excited!
  21. If someone was paying for my accommodations, I certainly wouldn't expect a favor or an oot bag!! I think you're being really generous already. I don't even think you need to say anything, although I like Andrea's suggestion if you want to include something.
  22. Yeah, it might not happen before Feb 1 when we leave....but here's hoping!!!!
