Aside from the RSVP card and envelope I included a Travel card. I just put that they could contact our TA to book their trip with her contact information on it and directed them to our website for wedding details with the password. The TA is sending out packets with their invoice or receipt for the trip along with brochures on the resort to all the people that book through her so I figured I didn't need to put anything else with the invitations. There is also a lot of info on the website.

Is this the case with anyone else or is it just us? I think we have all had this issue. I just had another comment made a couple weeks ago by my cousin's wife. Now it doesn't bother me since we are getting married in 5 months, we're booked as well some guests, and it is too late to make any changes now. Not that we would have anyway since this is what we want to do and it's our day. Those that want to be there will be there, and those that aren't are missing out.

So, I need to know how to address the envelopes properly. Some of my guests are single, some married, some living together, some engaged and living together, some just kind of seeing someone..... Also, does anyone know of a better way to address the envelopes instead of going with a sticker Help!!!! I Don't know where to start. My apologies if this topic is covered on another thread. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. There are a few ways that you can address people. I guess it depends on how formal you want to be. This is how I addressed them: Married: Mr. & Mrs. John Doe Single/Dating, but new relationship or if I didn't know who they would be bringing: Mr. John Doe & Guest Couple Living together/Dating a significant time: Mr. John Doe Ms. Jane Doe (I would put whoever was the person we were closest to on top, or whoever's address I was sending it to their name would be first.) Married couples with kids: The Doe Family (I wanted to make sure they knew that kids were welcome.) I tried printing the addresses directly on the envelope, but my printer wouldn't pick up the envelope. I got too frustrated to try and figure out what the deal was so I just printed the address on clear mailing labels. I stuck our return address on the back flap of the envelope. It didn't look bad, but even though I used clear labels I think it would look better if you are using a lighter color envelope. My were bright pink so you could still see that it was a label. I just printed the labels in MS Word so I don't think you need to have a program to print them. For return address I just printed full sheets of our address. I was able to change the font and put the same font that we used for our names on the invitation for our names on the label, and our address as well as the guest's name and addresses were printed in the font that was used throughout the rest of the invite.

I just posted this on another thread, but thought I would add it here. If you order personalized stamps make sure when the post office weighs your invitation that they also check the size of the envelope in case there is extra postage needed. We ordered stamps from stamps.com based on what the post office quoted my FI, but they only weighed the envelope. I found out we we needed more postage when I went to drop off the invitations to be mailed and had to purchase .41 stamps to add on. I wasn't too pleased to say the least since I wouldn't have ordered special stamps if I didn't care what the postage looked like so just thought I would share so no one else has the same issue. I really liked my stamps from stamps.com though and they came pretty quick. I just really hate the post office now!

And it looks like most of you gave 6 weeks for a response? Is that standard? I was planning to send them out the first week of July, but now I'm thinking I need to get on things and send them out earlier! Yikes! I just mailed mine out on Saturday and our RSVP date is August 15. I figured that time frame gave guests who haven't booked yet a reminder and some time to book if they want to come, and also gives me enough time to still order OOT bags and finalize stuff on my end once I know the exact guest count. These invitations also led to me to my first "bridezilla" moment. I really wanted the invitations to look nice, but our budget didn't allow ordering expensive invitations so I went the DIY route. I was pretty happy with how they turned out, but after putting them together we ran out of ribbon. Since we were already behind getting them together we just used what we had and I still had some raffia ribbon left from the bottles so there are a bunch that will be getting different ribbon. I wasn't too concerned about it because I actually ended up liking the way the raffia ribbon looked better. FI had taken one of the samples to the post office about a week ago to find out the postage and the lady measured it twice and said .59. FI also said there was a guy in line after him with the same size envelope and she told him .59 too. He called me while he was still at the post office and I thought it sounded too low so I told him to have her check it again and she said the same price. So we ordered stamps with our logo from stamps.com. We got 4 sheets with the .59 rate and 4 sheets with the .42 for the RSVP cards. They came in on Friday so we were able to stamp everything, put the ribbon on and stuff them so I could take them to the post office on Saturday. I was really happy with how the stamps turned out. The colors of our logo matched almost perfectly to the color of the envelopes and it looked really nice together. Now on to my bridezilla moment. I get to the post office on Saturday to drop them off and the guy at the counter takes one out and weighs it, and then takes out this cardboard thing with a slit in it and put the invitation inside and then tells me I don't have enough postage. I preceded to tell him that is impossible because my FI was just there a week ago with the same invitation and the lady checked it twice and told him .59. He said because of the size of the envelope that there was an extra charge. The weight was .59, but because of the size it was more. The lady my FI dealt with obviously didn't measure it, and I asked to speak with someone else. I felt it was there mistake. I didn't just order .59 stamps online for the hell of it. They were not helping at all so I ended having to buy .41 stamps to add on there. Then I called my FI and started crying because I was all upset. Now, I don't know why something as stupid as stamps got me so worked up, but here I was in the parking lot of the post office crying because I had to put a purple love stamp next to our personalized ones. I felt so dumb! So my advice to you is if you are going to order personalized stamps make sure the postage is correct unless you don't care about purple stamps.

Happy Wedding Day! Congratulations! -
If I had to start over, I think I would have no bridal party or just have kids stand up. They look the cutest all dressed up! I only have a Matron of Honor and a BM and they have not been a problem at all, but I think it would have been easier (and cheaper!) for me.
