  1. Hello fellow Canadian! Congrats on making the decision to have a DW. I'm new too, but it's great to have a place where you can talk about your wedding as much as you want and noone gets tired of hearing about it!
  2. Since they are going to be a postcard and keeping that in mind I think the one with the "vines" in the barkground would make a great STD postcard. #6 is also beautiful and I think #8 is really cool (you know it's you guys but it's also a great art like photo overall). Any of your choices will be great. You guys are really photogenic! I bet your wedding photos will be stunning as well.
  3. Wow, there aren't many of us! We are unique I cannot wait until August!!!!! I've had a few people question our date since we are going in Hurricane season but it's the Dominican so I'm not worried. Looking forward to the heat in the Caribbean. Wooohoooo!
  4. That's honestly the reason I don't want the AHR. I know what the response will be from alot of people, both family and friends. Like your "no" people they are thinking why should they go to the AHR when we chose to get married down south and they couldn't go. My father wants an AHR and that is the only reason we are having one. My family wanted the big traditional wedding and until three weeks ago we have everything planned for a big traditional Catholic wedding on July 30, but we couldn't do it, our hearts weren't in it so we called it off. There are some family members who are happy for us, and there are others who are mad about our decision and are talking about us as if having the wedding we want is somehow affecting them personally.
  5. How did you cut those out so neatly? Seriously, I have no crafting ability. Did the paper already come in that shape? Would love to make fans like yours but unless it can be printed through vistaprint I'm at a loss when it comes to diy items. I
  6. I can't help with the technical. I just wanted to say that I can't believe those were done in Word. I use Adobe photoshop, I didn't even know it was possible to create something so intricate in word. Well done!
  7. I like 3 and 4 best. I'm partial to brighter Caribbean colours, but that is just a personal style choice. I could picture those in a bright blue, turquoise, peacock colour, but you have to chose the colors that you like best of course. I think you've done a great job on them all!
  8. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your luminaries. I didn't even think about bringing those with me. They can lay flat in the suitcase and be taped together once you get there, taking up very little room.Perfect and they will look so nice!!!!!
  9. I would have thought those flowers were real. Love the colours of those flowers. Might have to check out Angels Accents! I'm getting married at the Majestic Colonial not quite sure what they offer in regards to flowers on the cake and what not.
  10. I love all the bright pink. That will be my major colour as well. Love the frames in both pink and orange, they're so tropical.
  11. I've wondered the same thing Lasallebabe. I can't access any of the documents and at the rate I'm going I probably won't have 150 posts before the wedding. Maybe we should start a discussion back and forth to get our post count up, lol!
  12. Very nice! I love the vibrant blue. I'm thinking about doing programs, thanks for the inspiration.
  13. Salon email? I can't seem to find the email address for the hair salon. I know I saw it either on here or the fb group but can't seem to locate it now that I need it. If anyone knows what it is please let me know.
  14. Just wanted to add that we are both on the facebook group for the majestic colonial too! I read your similar question on the fb group and thought I was having deja vu, lol. When is your wedding date? I'm the end of August 2011.
  15. Thanks for sharing. Very cute. Did you say you did them in powerpoint (I need to go back and reread, lol)?
  16. Keen use of the postcards! Wouldn't have thought of that. I am still trying to find those key holders that everyone seems to use but can't find the right type here in Canada. I want those that seal up so people can put their key and cash.
  17. I feel so happy just looking at the pics. Your photographers really did a good job of capturing those moments. Especially love the candids!
  18. You are stunning and so are your photos!!!!!!! I was against roses in my bouquet until I saw your bright pink bouquets. Loved everything about your wedding style, the dresses, suits, flowers, etc. It looked so nice all together. I saw that your husband wore a suit? Did he manage okay in the heat? Maybe I can convince my FI to wear a suit. He loves suits but is concerned about the sweat factor.
  19. My mother and a group of her friends were at the Colonial last year. They found the food to be very good. I heard the Japanese is great and that the buffet is very good. When I'm in the DR or Cuba I always try to remember that this is not Canada and you can't expect everything to taste the same or be prepared in the same way as "home."
  20. I'm interested in hearing about this too. I think it would be awesome if resorts did this. If wireless reached the beach you would have no problem I'm hoping to have a family member do some digital video and the upload it asap for our family who could not make it.
  21. Are those your bridesmaid dresses? Would you mind sharing where you got those? Love the bright blue.
  22. I'm thinking bright pink. I personally wouldn't want to wear it as a bridesmaid, but lukily I am the bride, lol. I also really like bright blue, like cobalt. Not sure I will have a colour scheme, more like I want everything to look Caribbean, bright and colorful.
