  1. Noone has posted on this thread in a while . . . I'm from Newfoundland. Anybody else out there????!!! Where are all the 2011 Atlantic Canadians, lol.
  2. You're not alone, lol . . . August 29, Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.
  3. I've booked and am planning my wedding for the last week of August, 2011. Was wondering if there are any other brides getting married down there around this time? Also, are there any past brides that were married at this time. Was it a busy week? Did you get lots of rain? Did you have to hide out from a tropical storm or hurricane? Would love to hear your stories specific to this time of year!
  4. Yes, her prices were similar to what others have listed that I had found. We chose her top package, which I believe is 2000, and includes unlimited hours, two photographers, and a TTD. I thought that was pretty good! As someone mentioned previously there aren't a ton of reviews on her but hopefully her work speaks for itself (fingers crossed).
  5. Glad this worked out for you. Our TA was a little unhelpful in this regard. Really wish we would have found someone else, but her price was significantly lower than any other TA we had dealt with.
  6. While I can't see the templates yet, I really like those programs that are like a fan that some have posted. Great for 30 degrees of heat in August in the DR to have a little fan! Pretty and functional. It's a little above my diy scope but I might try it.
  7. The shoes are to die for! Everything else is very nice as well . . . but I am loving the shoes
  8. I thought the fish were so cute! What a great idea. I've seen some shark candy at the bulk barn they would be cute in an OOT bag as well.
  9. i'm using mywedding.com and I really like it. It's simple to use, simple to update. Can even keep track of RSVP's, has a nice guestbook feature, and you can add music if you like.
  10. Love all the detail in this dress! You are going to shine on your wedding day.
  11. If you think you are going to have more than 15 rooms booked you might want to consider the Majestic Colonial. The basic wedding package would be free if you had this number of rooms. That would save your over $1000 there!
  12. I am hoping to make these for my guests too. Any tips on where to purchase the actual badge holders and clips?
  13. Glad that I found this thread! So much inspiration here. Thank you to everyone who posted their ceremony scripts, beautiful words. Have always loved the hands ceremony. I think I might have been inspired to include additional vows as many of you have.
  14. I am so impressed by these. I have no idea what those tools even are, lol. Your guests, or whoever are getting those, are going to be so impressed. The colour stands out really well and also the way you can see the design through both sides works together so nicely,
  15. Thank you! I am getting married at the Majestic Colonial. Nearly every travel agent I spoke with recommended it and my mom had been there previously so I figured it was a safe bet.
  16. Stealing so much from this!!! I was wondering about the key holder thing. Just wondering where you got those. I think key holders are a great idea for down south.
  17. Those treasure chests are crazy! Your guests must have feel so appreciated. I'm wondering if maybe I could do a "cheap" version for our immediate family and friends. A great keepsake for sure.
  18. Wow, you did an awesome job. I'm getting some inspiration for our own monogram. I like the simplicity of the palm tree and starfish. Nicely done!
  19. Thanks Lucky_Girl for the heads up on Staples. I would like to do luggage tags but I don't want to do to the laminate as I would like people to be able to add their info on one side if they like.
  20. I've booked Julia Eskin. The more I look at her photos the more I love them. www.juliaeskin.com Looking forward to having her shoot the wedding. She has even arranged her flight back to Punta Cana (she travels all over the world) to come back a week early to shoot our wedding.
  21. Pastor York is not available for my wedding, as such a wedding coordinator will be performing my ceremony. I was wondering if anyone knew what the wording is for that ceremony. Will they be willing to read a ceremony that I have prepared? Thanks for anyone has information regarding the wording!
  22. Hey folks, Hope I'm not breaking any forum rules but I was wondering if anyone has the wording Pastor York uses I would be so grateful if you could forward me a copy to [email protected] That would truly be incredibly helpful and awesome!
  23. Hi, I'm wondering if anyone knows the answer to the question posted previously regarding giving your vegetarian numbers beforehand? I know I have at least one and I'm wondering when that request needs to be submitted. Also, this is semi-related to the steakhouse discussion, if I bring down my own chair sashes for the ceremony will the staff relocate them to the steakhouse for the reception later?
