  1. ooooh, no wedding band, I hadn't even considered that I do kinda like the thought of being "forever engaged!"
  2. So that title probably sounded really bad! I LOVE my ring. My FI proposed with my great grandmothers ring from 1930 with the original diamond and italian setting. FI had it totally re-habbed, gorgeous. My question is, for all you ladies, how the heck do I get a wedding band around this? Do you think I should get one custom made to fit around this large setting, or should I just do the whole switch my engagment ring to my right hand and wear a simple wedding band on the left? My fear is that I'll spend a lot of money on a custom band, and will end up not even liking it...or there just wont be enough room on my finger or the band will take away from the dynamic setting. But of course, deep down I still want the traditional band and ring on the left hand! has anyone gone through this?? pics below!
  3. My mom and I have bickered about the process a lot too. I think you shoud invite them and send STD's. You never know who will want a vacation, she may be surprised! Good Luck
  4. Desiree- I can't belive your wedding is almost 2 months away!!! I was thinking about you the other day and wondering if the WC had contacted you yet. They should be any day now!!! HOW EXCITING!
  5. Welcome Anita! You'll find more suggestions on here than you even knew were possible! Best Wishes
  6. Ugh- sorry to hear about the swine flu drama! I think a fun idea is to bring a mic and have an "open mic" type of thing where random people make toasts, dedicate songs to you or eachother or make jokes, etc. If you get a little liquer in people they are pretty damn fun and creative on their own, with nothing but a microphone. i think this is a great post and there are tons of creative girls on here who will contribute! best wishes!
  7. My heart completely goes out to you! I think you should know that ultimately, the new GF put herself in this position. You can't behave like a child and start name-calling,etc and then expect to be welcomed with open arms. I understand that Love is crazy, and everyone wants their relationship to be respected, but that doesnt justify how she treated your mom. Anyone dating a divorced guy (me included) or a guy with children has to be understanding and respectful - ESPECIALLY in the beginning. My mom is my best friend and I know putting her in this situation would be emotional for all of us, and you are right you don't want your wedding day to be the day where its all layed out on the table. i agree with completely uninviting her all together and I hope that everyone can be as understanding as possible. maybe there is a chance that the new gf will get the hint that she can't act this way towards his family. best of luck and congrats on your wedding being so soon!!

I could probably just put the times on the welcome letter I will be giving to each guest when they arrive at the hotel...Any thoughts on this? Lisa- I think that's a great idea, putting the times on the welcome letter. You can address on your invitations the important times (ceremony, reception) and include a note that formal details or some sort of "agenda" will be waiting for them when they arrive!
  9. I'm a maggie bride too and tried on a size 8 in the store which actually fit OK BECAUSE of the corset back.... I ordered it in a 14 though so I'm sure you'll be ok with the sizing! back to the white issue: First of all, I think you'd look gorgeous in white, and its saving you almost 1000 dollars which is pretty damn amazing. Second, If you love the ivory touches on everything else, I would leave them and that way you get the best of both worlds. It may just be that i'm unobservant, but I don't think I would pick up on that little difference if I were a guest. Being that I'm a bride too, I know how the difference can drive you nuts! I think it might be cute to have both themes though, thats just my opinion Good Luck and congrats on the awesome find! hope you are feeling better after your surgery. Random side note: my brother had brain surgery for a tumor on his pituitary gland when he was 11. He's had no natural hormone function his whole life so we have constantly dealt with hormone replacements He turned out pretty amazing and I'm sure resolving the issue entirely is a weight off your shoulders! XO josie
  10. Hi Girls- I too am on a mission to shed some weight before my wedding. I lost 30 pounds a few years ago and like the others, I've gained it all back. I kept trying random diets like no carbs, or not eating, or 500 calories a day - crazy stuff. On monday I decided to do this the right way. I joined Free Diet Plans at SparkPeople and it has really been helpful. You set goals and input what you eat and it tracks all of your food and workouts. You can also make a "sparkpage" kinda like a facebook or myspace and share with others your food & fitness tracker. Here is a link to mine so far: SMACKKAT's Shared Food & Fitness Tracker - Tuesday, May 19, 2009 Its an awesome support system and its been helping me stay motivated
  11. hmmmm, i think i booked the royal? i booked the middle package that included stuff for up to 50, they told us if we had more than 50 we'd have to upgrade to the next best package which i think is caprice. we might have to do that based on our guest list- but not sure yet!

  16. Girls- I think after much going back and forth I decided to do the resort photog. Juan Carlos. Do any of you know how far in advance you're supposed to book him, or do I assume that because he works for the resort he's available? I feel like I havent done much for the wedding lately and I just got nervous about it Thanks!
