I was having the same issue! I have decided to to just invite my immediate supervisor on my team and good friends from work. If it was a regular wedding, I would have invited the politically correct people.. for a DW I have an excuse to only invite those I really want to (Shhh.. dont tell my co-workers).

AHR Favor Ideas, Help!

If her wedding has a theme go with that.. I think that you can pretty much do anything. Although, I do agree with Cattie as well on the idea of giving something that they can use. Maybe mini bottles of tequila bc they got married in Mexico? Personally, I would love that.. or margarita mixes so they can be made alcholic or non-alcoholic. -
Thanks for the heads up!! Off to Michael's I go... =) Oh and Outdoor_girl1010 - FI wondered the same thing. Since the full amount for the rooms is due 60 days before the weddng; we are sending out a final pre-wedding newsletter/reminder about 2.5 months before the wedding and we will include luggage tags and passport covers most likely.

Amount of ppl going - am I too sensitive??
sunsetbride1 replied to jmb0902's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
There are lots of us on here that are going to end up with smaller weddings. Right now, we have 10 rooms booked incl. ours.. which equals out to maybe 15-20 people. I am not counting on anyone else outside of those that have already booked their rooms to be able to come; I will know for sure when I send out my official invites this weekend. IMO, it's nothing to be sad or fret about.. It's the nature of a DW and just think of how much time you will be able to spend with those that do come if you have less people. -
You sure are getting some amazing pics of gals with gorgeous curves completely rockin' a mermaid style dress. From everything I have read and seen, I think that the Mermaid style looks better on ladies with curves. If you are a size 2 and 7ft tall; then you have nothing to fill it out with IMHO. My personal experience with them was NOT good. I am a street size 4, 5'4 but carry all my weight in by bottom half. Every mermaid I tried on.. made my hips look HUGE and my top half look tiny in comparison. Not flattering on me at all.. I think its all about the way that your body is proportioned. I ended up with a very close fitting modified a-line with more of an empire cut; which worked out perfectly in balancing out my body. I say.. go with what makes you feel sexy! Get out there and try some dresses on!

Need help for DW dress
sunsetbride1 replied to memz's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
I considered that as well.. but it just scared me; I am too paranoid about how the dress will come out. There are a lot of threads on this forum about that.. http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t30470 http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t2010 http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t1176 -
Hmmm... I like Pearlygirl's idea! I may end up doing the same thing if we don't have a lot of guests besides the WP. They will all be called bm's / gm's but if they are our only guests outside of parents and a few others; they will prob walk down the aisle and then take a seat in the front rows or something. They will all wear the VS convertible dress in different ways but same color. If you don't want to call them BM's / GM's -- I have heard of them called: I am not sure if I like the first 3 or four but still putting them out there- Ladies in Waiting Hand Maidens Lovely Ladies Mon Mademoisselles I like this one though- Leading Ladies

Not Having Flowers?
sunsetbride1 replied to sunsetbride1's topic in Wedding Flowers, decoration, cake, etc.

I am having a wedding party and they will be wearing coppery color dresses and I am having hair flowers made for them from Etsy which will be a combination of all of our colors. My hair flower will be white with blue accents. I am not sure what people would do with their hands. When I am walking down the aisle; I think I am okay with not holding anything.... -

Finally found BM Dresses

Very cute!! Perfect.. and I completely understand the struggle with the BM's over the 'prom dresses'. I finally just picked something and they all have to deal with it. LOL! -
My hair flower
sunsetbride1 replied to heather007's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
Wow.. I am so impressed that you made that! It's gorgeous. -
Welcome Back Amanda!! Wow.. you look absolutely gorgeous; I love your dress and the color palette. The pic of you and your new hubby at the swim up bar is my favorite; when I show FI.. he is going to want one of us doing that! I am sorry to hear the weather wasn't great and things weren't exactly like you planned... but, from looking at those pics everything looks perfect. I am so excited for you.. can't wait to hear your review!!!

Welcome Maisy!!! As far as having a small wedding- we are also having a small'ish wedding. It may end up being our WP and parents.. less than 20 ppl. We are staying at an AI; so there is no need for us to have/pay for a formal reception. We will just all have dinner together at one of the restaurants afterwards and then party at the disco for the night. You also don't need to have a WP if you don't want one ... there are lots of threads on here about ladies not having them. It's a completely personal decision. As far as having some honeymoon time to yourselves... I agree with the people above. Most resorts have kids clubs, etc... or I love the idea of hiring a nanny to come along on the trip; so for even a night or two the kids can stay in the nanny's room so you and FI can have some alone time *wink, wink*. If your dream is to get married on the beach; then do it... all the gals on here will tell you the same thing. All of us have probably had doubts or doubters in our wedding planning process. Follow yours and FI's heart... there are no hard and fast rules when it comes to DW's and for me, thats part of the fun!

sunsetbride1 replied to jojoboone1109's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
Your dress is gorgeous... I love i!!!! With the neckline on that dress; IMO you should wear your hair up.. maybe in some soft sexy curls piled on the top of your head. I just posted the pic for you.. ck out the threads on how to post pics when you have a chance! -
Putting together OOT bags???
sunsetbride1 replied to klktx's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
Very good thread.. I was wondering the same thing!! -
FI and I are trying to get back to the super simple beach wedding that we originally had planned on having --- we want our decoration to be the beach, the ocean and the sunset. Everything is very neutral so far .. with a palette of brown and blue with touches of white and gold. That being said, do you all think it would look strange if we don't have any flowers? (I may do a hair flower but that's it..)
-
I have curly-ish hair as well; that loves to frizz in the heat and humidity. I plan on sucking it up and paying someone to do my hair; because I don't want to take the chance that I will be looking at my wedding pictures and saying "Ew.. my hair looks gross and frizzed". If you have someone do it, just be very speciifc with how you want it and watch them as they do it. You are paying them.. get what you pay for! Bring pictures of how you want it and instruct them very clearly.

Announcments Dilemma/Help needed+
sunsetbride1 replied to InspiredBride's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
I agree.. #1 would work for me. Say something like, we would love to celebrate our marraige with you on the high seas.. or something to that effect. And maybe have everyone have dinner together once they arrive. -
Ceremony options?
sunsetbride1 replied to irishmatrimony's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
I am also having my special friends and/or family do readings; here are some sites that I have been browsing: WEDDING CEREMONY READINGS And.. this one is on there that I may use; seems appropriate for a DW: Ck out - EXCERPT FROM "THE GIFT FROM THE SEA" Offbeat Bride | Awesome wedding readings for bad-ass couples There are a lot more as well.. just google search 'wedding readings'. -
I have my group shoot scheduled for March 6th with some other BDW girls in NYC with Kamila Harris. So far, she has been amazing to work this and we are all super excited. Kamila Harris Photography - Boudoir I do know that some girls on here are using and/or have recommended Brandi Grooms. I have corresponded with her; her work looks amazing and she is also really nice -- but honestly, for me .. her prices were a bit more than I could afford. BD Outfits

Thanks Erin My shoot is March 6th! And.. you are on the same thought path as we were/are. Originally they were going to throw me a lingerie shower; but I was able to coordinate a group shoot with some fabulous girls on here for sooner than I originally planned - so they are taking me shopping at the end of February and each one is buying me one outfit.
