Resort recommendation?

Which Color (parasol question)

Hi Ladies, I am trying to figure out how to customize my BD Book.. My shoot is on March 6th and it comes with a leather album. I would like to try to find some way to make it special on the cover. I know that one of you super creative ladies did something amazing that said it was FI's "New Little Black Book" or something like that that I absolutely loved; but now I can't find it!!! So those of you that have had a BD Book made or are doing one.. what are your ideas/inspirations?

Hmmm.. I could go either way on this one. Personally, I would send them all a very blunt email telling them that you know what has been going on and it's unacceptable. If they can't get along then they don't have be in the wedding party and you will go without one. So, get their act together and stop being children. But if I were to give someone advice about what I feel they should do; I agree completely with Yari. Send them a very nice note and make them feel guilty for behaving like children. Ugh.. good luck!

Am I Being a Spoiled Bridezilla

I'm surprised she took on another project without having everything for your day decided. I'd be worried if I were the other couple. I think that's the best way to go. But, if you are really uncomfortable with the situation; then you should absolutely find someone else. -

Jobs in MI (because of all the big three) are very hard to come by. Good luck and hopefully this round of layoffs doesn't hit the both of us. Tammy.. I have my fingers crossed for both you and your DH! I work in NYC so I absolutely feel your pain about the job market. Please let me know how it turns out for you. -
We are all in the same boat darling.. don't worry!!!! I have found with my FI that I find specific things and then I send them to him for his opinion. If he doesn't respond; I corner him and tell him if he doesn't have an opinion then I am making all the decisions myself and he can't b*tch if he doesn't like them. I give him examples of the bright pink flowered shirt I will make him wear and the overly sappy ceremony I will plan just to annoy him. Then he usually gets on board. LOL.

Okay, I have to get this out!!!! We were just told that our company will be having lay-offs and I am terrified I am going to lose my job. I am the junior person in my job working/training under a very senior person who is an industry expert. My salary is at the top of the range for my position and my boss just asked me yesterday to send her a list of everything I am working on. And.. I just asked my boss if I should be worried and she just looked at me and said "We should all be worried". I know I am probably freaking out over nothing; but I am the one who brings in more $$ in our household. We are on a strict budget with the wedding coming up and we cannot afford to have me lose my job. Okay, I should just now! I know that there are a lot of people in this economy who have already lost their jobs who are in a lot worse shape than FI and I. Thanks for listening!

how to ask for help
sunsetbride1 replied to calchik's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
I agree with Betsy... Be very non-confrontational about it. Just call her and tell her that you really need her help. That you are concerned about the Best Man planning a testosterone driven stag/stagette and it would be a great help to you if she can get involved. If she still doesn't step up, the I would honestly just do it yourself... -
Does this plan sound okay?
sunsetbride1 replied to Penndant's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
Welcome!!! And I think that all sounds great. Will you be doing pictures during the time when everyone 'splits'? -
CH2344.. My FI was the same. I thought the I LOVE LOVE was super cute; but FI was absolutely not into it. Thank you so much for sharing your "I LIKE"; I just sent it to FI.. hopefully he will like it too. =) Yael .. I think that is amazing. If you are doing a symbolic ceremony; you can do whatever you want as far as I know. We are writing our own symbolic ceremony in DR!

That's why I was thinking we can arrive 15 minutes early to discuss logistics... I was thinking we can figure it out to everyone's comfort level, timing etc.. when we get there if that's okay with everyone as it is difficult to get a hold of everyone to coordinate people arriving at different times and imho it allows too much room for error in terms of people being late etc.. and we have so many girls to fit into one day. If there are only a few in the room at at time or just the person being photographed (all depending upon comfort levels); then the rest of us can hang in the restaurant, lobby, or somewhere nearby?
-
Hi Ladies, I would like for us all to meet in the lobby at 11:15am of the hotel so we can discuss all the below for logistical sake. I just heard back from Kamila re: the following - Venue - it is already booked. Dream Hotel 210 W 55th St New York Kamila said "As far as the lighting - no worries! I bring all my professional lighting equipment and I can shoot in pretty much any light situation." Timing: hair/makeup for the first person starts at 1130am Kamila said: "Of course if you want to all arrive together thats ok, but maybe we may need a couple of the girls to hang out in the lobby or restaurant for a bit if other girls are not comfortable with everyone being in the room with them! i think it will be a lot of fun if all the girls hang out together, but there just may be a little bit of moving around during the shoots, but if everyone is okay with other girls being in the room while they are getting their shoot done - this will be a lot of fun, so it's totally okay with me as long as it's okay with you girls!!" Order of shooting: Kamila said "And usualy the girls choose the order in which the sessions go, depending on what time works better for each girl." Hair/Makeup: Kamila said "First, yep definitely come with clean dry hair and fresh faced, no makeup."

Do you put a return address on invites?
sunsetbride1 replied to meghanmbm's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
Absolutely yes .. We had one returned bc I made a typo on the address. To save $$ instead of having our stationers do the addressing; we bought clear address labels from Staples and I made all the address labels myself. We put the return address on the back.
