  1. So on May 1st my wonderfull FI wakes me up with a steamy cup of coffee, a kiss and says "we are getting married next month!" My mouth just dropped! HOLY COW IT IS ALMOST HERE!! TIME TO PANIC! So of course, I start running around like a chicken with its head chopped off... So I have decided not to do Programs, we are 27 ppl (including us) so I just don't see the point, same goes for place cards. Any one else feel the same? We are having a timeline and a newsletter, since I figure the resort is large and I have no idea if everyone will be staying near one another. Oh and in 2 weeks, I am sending out a powerpoint presentation of Who is who. Anyone else go this route instead of a booklet? Cheers!
  2. WOW! I have no idea which way to go with this guestbook! There are so many great ideas!
  3. Welcome Heather!! We are so pleased to have you here!
  4. Congratulations Heather!! I am so happy that a venue stepped up to the plate and helped you out!! I just know you will have a perfect day !
  5. My FI parent's aren't contributing, but his grand parents will probably give us a nice $ gift. My parents have been very generous. So we try to avoid the topic, so as to not make anyone feel awkward. I think it is the best strategy.

I have a mere two weeks to plan my new wedding before leaving for my 'honeymoon' on May 11th (yes, BEFORE my wedding!) We're back in Canada for 2 days, then off to Jamaica on May 30th. Our new wedding day is June 2nd. So far, 36 of our 55 guests have re-booked so that feels really good. Everyone has been really supportive. Now I need to see whether there is an Iberostar Rose Hall Suites thread... haha. Thanks for all your well wishes. It's been a tough week but I'm starting to feel better today. That is awesome news!! If you need any help on the home front, let me know. I can defeintly kick some ass and take some names on the plannning front while you are on your pre-wedding-moon. Us Ottawa gals stick together!
  7. you aren't allowed with the forces? weirdness. Hopefull this work out for you!!!
  8. Tabar...nn sorry my frenchness gets away from me... those picture are gorgeous!!
  9. Ladies, My heart goes out to you. This is a devastating developement and I knwo you will be stronger for it. You know that expression about rainy wedding days makes for long happy marriages... influenza postponed wedding days makes for the same That being said I am now starting to get paranoid that they will spread the travel retrictions to other areas in the Carribean if this damn flu keeps going. Hang in there ladies

I can't re-arrange unless its next year as FI has special permission to have these 2 weeks and then he's off to Afghanistan!! bloody great And i've got no work done as i keep checking the sites that tell me Feck all lol Sounds like you are in the UK Why aren't you checking other destinations? I am sure alot of UK and Canadian brides are scrambling right now. But check out the Cuban resorts, they say only 4 weeks notice, but in light off all this, I bet ya they can arrange something, even if it is just a symbolic ceremony. (and the Cuban rules are pretty easy, just need a passport if you have never been married!) PM me if you want more info.

  12. I am so sorry that you are going through this. You are both in my prayers. I only hope that you enjoy your holidays regardless and marry the man of your dreams.

  14. I also agree. We registered because our bridal party insisted, since mny people cannot come to the wedding, yet will be at the shower. That being said, as a bride, I would love to receive a gift for our trip. Either a gift certificiate towards our trip, or perhaps a spa day at the resort. Something like that would be really appreciated I think.
  15. Really they say 72 hours (3 business days), but, most resorts want to have as many weddings as possible. And since most flights arrive saturday or sunday, most resorts don't mind if you get married right away on the Monday or Tuesday ( example we land Sunday, are getting married on Tuesday) -especially if you are staying a full week, or 2. But defintely check with the WC. And if she says 3 working days, ask for a special arrangement!!
  16. Hi everyone! My FI left for work tonight, the first nice and warm evening of Spring. So I decided to finish up our fan favours! Here they are!In process... Final product I am so happy in how they turned out!
