  2. You should def be ablet o negotiate some things! When we went down to DR two weeks ago, we negotiated a couple extra bottles of free champagne and centerpieces at our wedding. You can do it!
  3. Sarah, everything looks lovely
  4. My FI is the supervisor of a construction company so he makes pretty good loot. I posted anonymously as well but will say it's 3 times more than me. LOL.

  7. Do whatever you feel is best. It's your big day!
  8. ^^ I totally understand what you're saying. For us personally, though, it was $5,000 extra we had to factor in if just half of our guests stayed at a different resort, because we wouldn't make them pay their own pass to our wedding after coming down to our DW. It didn't make us want to invite certain people, less or more, just narrowed down our guest list from say, 200 to 150. Two different views on this, but good to know for those who are planning
  9. That is crazy waht they are doing. I understand them not wanting to lose business but they are already making tons of money off your wedding by having guests stay there and the costs of your wedding. It's up to the bride & groom's discretion as to who they want to come photograph them. Not sure why but your WC sounds like a total meanie!

  11. Jessica, I am sorry to hear that but glad you are okay! I am not sure what is in the water/air/life this week but I am also having one of the worst weeks ever!
  12. Martha, as a DR bride, I highly recommend the island When we sent out our save the dates, we included a letter in there that told them we realized they had many choices to strongly encouraged them to stay at ours because traveling between the resorts/hotels can take up a long time. Also, for each guest that stays at a different resort, most resorts make you pay for a day/night pass to have them come on the property... some of them go up to $100 per person. So def check out how much they are at your resort (that was a major deciding factor of where we decided to host our wedding). Mostly everyone has stayed at our resort thus far, but there are about 4 people who are going to a different one.
  13. I like the f irst pair in the pic. I def decided not to spend too much on shoes. I just want something comfy, that I dance/walk in all night, but that matches my dress. We already spent way too much on our dresses for that, ladies
  14. 1. What is the cost of the wedding package? 2. What does it include? 3. What are the ceremony site and reception site options? 4. What are the alternatives in case of rain? 5. What kind of flowers and pricing are available? 6. What kind of music is available? 7. Can you have a private reception/away from the rest of the resort goers and at what price? 8. What kind of food is served on the menu? Can it be a la carte/served or is it buffet-style? Can you pick and choose what is served? 9. What kind of cake flavor do they have/can they make a cake that you send them a picture of? 10. Do they have your wedding date and time available? (this one is crucial lol) 11. What is the cost of a guest pass/day/night pass for any guests not staying at your hotel (most resorts have these) 12. Do they charge extra for bar use? 13. Do they have cocktails and hors'deurves and at what extra cost?
  15. Be sure to look at your budget and decide how many people you can invite and can pay for at your wedding before sending them out. Expect each invite to be able to come (eventhough they won't) so you won't be surprised. We sent out both save the dates and invitations. The save the date usually says: SAVE THE DATE Your names The Date The place Formal Invitation to follow ____________ The invitation is more formal.
  16. Oh, that is gorgeous!!! Did you get it in the white or the off-white?
  17. Those are SO SO SO cute!!! Little guayaberas! And you cannot beat that price! Great find, chica!
  18. ^^ DON'T drink the water from the faucets, LOL. Just stick to bottled watera nd you will be fine. The resort will provide plent of it for you and always have it at the bar and in your hotel room and at the restaurants
  19. Omgosh, Elisa. I am so sorry!!! That is crazy! Just try to calm your family and friends down. Murders, statistically, are very rare. I can see exactly how they are really concerned now but just advise them that this is a very rare case. I found this link to do with that case: Canadian Tourist Bouabal Bounthavorn Shot to Death in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico | Scared Monkeys
  20. We're having a rehearsal but not a formal rehearsal dinner. We may have lunch afterward, since it's an an all-inclusive resort. But nothing formal. I'm also not doing programs. People will just throw them away.
  21. This is awesome! I really love the Meet the Guests part! It will make them all feel very included!
  22. My something old are some pearl earrings I have had for some time now. I love them and they are perfect with my dress
