  1. Darren, I just came back from visiting both Ibero complexes and honestly, there is not a big difiference. Iberostar Bavaro charges more and their day passes cost more, and cake. I did'nt like that at all. The wedding coordinator at Iberostar Punta Cana was much more helpful and really took her time showing me everything. She said she could set up anything I wanted prior to my guests arriving, etc. If you have any questions, just write me an email
  2. The dress I am getting comes with a purse and shawl which is pretty neat. However I seriously doubt I will use either as it will be BLARING hot! Maybe you could go to a bridal boutique and see if they have some to order that will match your dress. Or try the store you ordered or will order your dress from. Good luck!
  3. There is so much to choose from! But I know you will find the one that suits you! Welcome!
  4. Hey Darren, I am getting married at Iberostar Punta Cana. I just returned from a trip visiting both the Ibero PC and Bavaro (side by side) and decided on Iberostar PC. They are basically the same. They are both five star, high-end resorts (I know as I'm stayed at several Iberostars all over--best service EVER) and they are well-renowned for this very thing. You can use all three resorts together. The pricing for wedding packages and add-ons (live band, dj, flowers) is better at Ibero PC, not to mention, the staff is a HECK of a lot better than at Ibero Bav. (i.e. Friendlier). It's also more cost-effective for your out of town guests as Bav costs a lil more per night.
  5. Oh gosh. That is such a lovely dress! It is so classic and elegant! You will look gorgeous!
  6. Every resort is different. It's so crazy. We are getting married at one that costs one lump sump to rent out the restaurant for a private reception and all the food, wine, beverages will be included. We will have add ons of cake, a live band, and DJ, and of course, decorations. I would really research thoroughly. It is so crazy how different every resort is.
  7. I got insurance on mine so they have something set up where I can get it repainted/sparkly/cleaned to the max as much as I want at the jewelry store. In the meantime, I use a ring cleaner that I bought at the jewelry store. It was about five dollars. And I use it HABITUALLY (love my ring to sparkle). Everyone always tells me, it's so shiney! Yay!
  8. I am 99% sure my hair is going UP. It is going to be so freakin hot in the Caribbean sun! And I am already imagining myself sweating, so up it is!
  9. Oh, gosh. These are so cool! very creative! Did you make them yourself? I love the sparkly starfish!
  10. Yep. Family comes first. Even if they don't show, send them an invite.
  11. "THEY" say it's supposed to be bad luck. But I'm superstitious. LOL. So I will be hiding my dress at my mother's house when I order it so he can't see it!
  12. This is your day. You are not supposed to feel like you need to make anyone a bridesmaid or even invite someone who makes your life "miserable" to your wedding. At the very least, do not make her a bridesmaid. For your sanity!
  13. Migraines are a tough one. There is no cute for them! I have suffered from them for YEARS. I can tell you that light has a HUGE impact on migraines. So if you have one, def try to stay in the dark or turn off your light in your office at work. Cheese ,onions, and red wines will trigger a migraine, too. I see a chiropractor for mine bi-weekly. You may want to look into it if you still see no relief. I find Excedrin Migraine works wonders!
  14. Wow! You did such a beautiful job on your website! I love the idea of having wedding websites...especially for destination weddings! It definitely keeps all the family and friends informed in a nice, neat, quick way! Congrats!
  15. Congratulations! This is a very exciting time!
  16. New: the wedding dress Old: Family jewelry Borrowed: My mother's pearls Blue: Am maybe thinking about a pale blue thong. Nobody will see it anyway!
  17. You can have a translator there so it will be in English. Punta Cana is GORGEOUS. THe ocean is ridiculously blue.
  18. I will be married at the Iberostar Punta Cana on 7/5/08. Was just wondering if there were any other Iberostar brides on here. I just came back from a trip from there and it really is lovely. I stayed there and also have stayed at a few other Iberostars and they never fail to amaze me with their customer service. Love it! Yay!
  19. You are doing exactly what I'm doing. We are getting married civilly/legally here and then having our symbolic ceremony there. We are bringing our pastor down with us from church to conduct the ceremony. If you marry here first, it will already be legal. You will just have the symbolic ceremony there. GOOD LUCK!
  20. Iberostar Punta CAna for me. We are going to get married legally here and then have the wedding ceremony there.
  21. I will be getting married July 5th, 2008 in Punta Cana, DR at the Iberostar. I just got back from a trip to DR and to Punta Cana and the resort is LOVELY! Am very excited!
