  1. I really love that green. It's a lime color. So pretty and against the backdrop of a beach, I am sure it will be lovely!
  2. Oh, honey, I'm really sorry! Don't fret, though. Does he want to "postpone" it for a later time or just for another venue (at home wedding)? Talk it over with him. I am sure everything will work out lovely!
  3. Send them a STD and invite anyway, since no matter what, they are family and will always be a part of your lives. Whether they choose to go or not is their issue. You told them from the beginning that it is what you guys wanted. If they cannot or choose not to go, it's not your fault at all. The thing about destination weddings is, not everyone can go, and sometimes that is why we prefer it (for me that is totally the case). If I did it here at home, there would be about 500 people to invite (hella large family). But over there, we are only inviting 150 to our DR wedding. p.s. I'm an Iberostar bride, too!
  4. My familiy has informed us that they will be staying in Punta Cana for TEN days. I was like, Really? LOL. So our plan is to get hitched at the Iberostar Punta Cana on July 5th, and then later go to the Majestic Colonial which is right next door. I am really excited and totally understand those of you who want some 'alone time.' Some of you guys are going to be in Punta Cana at the same time as me, albeit different resorts! Small world. I love that feeling! Hooray for the Punta Cana weddings!
  5. The second one with the beach background. The picture alone will get everyone super motivated to go on the trip to your destination wedding! YAY!
  6. I would tell her straight up, she needs to pay you. One time I can understand, but not four times. Seems like she is used to getting her hair done for free. Hair products and dye are NOT cheap. You should def tell her to pay up. She doesn't sound like a good friend at all!
  7. I am very sorry, Heidi. I will def keep you and your hubby in my prayers.
  8. Ooh, thanks so much for this! I am going to do a little research on my own but I really like the idea of different-sized heights for the candles to be held on.
  9. Am doing this, too. Just make sure you schedule to have your marriage done because one day is really pushing it (especially if something should arise with whoever you made the apopintment with). I would do it about a week before. That gives you extra time should something come up AND you will ahve time to get it notarized/stamped. Yay! Also, most resorts offer a "renewal of vows' package which is less expensive than a regular 'wedding package' and includes everything the same minus the judge and paperwork Look into it!
  10. Bring the music YOU want him to play That way you can have your music your way
  11. 1. Crazy in Love - Beyonce (it was playing during our first kiss) 2. At Last 3. Carnival - Celia Cruz
  12. Well I'm getting married 4th of July weekend but in the Dominican Republic. It's so nice to see someone else getting married that weekend. Yay!

Welcome aboard! Prepare to get addicted to this forum!
  14. Dinner and drinks with your best friends at your favorite restaurant or a new place you've been meaning to try. A spa day or make up party!
  15. Def go with a green tie! You could even make the FI wear a green one and the groomsmen striped green and pink ties! YAY! love your colors!
  16. I want a LOT of candles and flowers as my centerpieces. I have bought 150 red and white tealight candles already but am wondering... how do you guys think I should organize these? I want it to look beauuutiful! We plan on having a lot of flowers and flower petals all over the tables as well. Please give me ideas! Ooh and am getting excited because today is exactly NINE months til the wedding! YAY! I am so happy!
  17. Dear Self, Be patient with the things you cannot change. BAH!!!!
  18. I will definitely be rocking sandals because I can't imagine having heels sink into the sand (also, the reception may be on the beach, too, in the sand).
  19. Hopels, I'm a gym rat so I will give yo usome pointers that really keep me in shape: I eat 5-6 small meals Monday to Friday. I allow myself to eat whatever I want on the weekend. Definitely cut out soda and sugars and fatty foods during this tie. You'd be surprised how much a lack of SODA will seriously cause you to lose weight if you drink it regularly! Aim for 45 minutes of cardio 3 or 4 times a week. Cardio is a MUST when wanting to lose weight. It's healthy to lose between 2-3 lbs a week according to doctors. You'll do great, no matter what you choose to do! Crash dieting is NOT the way! lol. Take care!
  20. Go to the courthouse to get your marriage license. From there you can make an apointment to get married (they have a list of people). This can even be done on the same day!!! You get married and then they give you the marriage certificate which you must have stamped/notorized. That's it!
