We sat for an hour last night and talked through a lot of the issues. I am so happy now! So that was my only bridezilla moment for the weekend. OH - and my son got into the little activity kits I was putting together for the little boys during our reception. It was actually a blessing in disguise. They were "Cars" stamp sets with paper and stickers I bought at the dollar store. He got ink ALL OVER his hands and face. Both of his hands are blue! After I found his mess - I asked myself- What are you thinking? Giving little boys blue ink pads to stamp with?? I could just imagine my son running up to me at the reception with blue hands all over my ivory dress! I decided to pre-stamp some papers and give them crayons and stickers instead! We have our "assembly party" this weekend so I have lots to get prepared for and lots to do on Saturday. OH - yeah, FI and I also started our weightloss crackdown today! Chicken, veggies, fruit and water, water, water! We are also going to choose one day to cheat. 97 days and counting! It's good that you worked things out with your FI. That is also a good thing that you found out about the stamps! Good luck with the weight loss ladies. I'm hoping to lose some more pounds myself, but haven't been doing so good. Maybe you all will be my inspiration!
  2. I'd go with what Alyssa said. I would have loved to have our wedding at the Grand, but we will have a lot of kids attending so we ended up going with the Lindo. We're honeymooning at the Grand after the wedding though (to get away from the kids!).

  4. I watched both episodes last night and was hoping it was going to be Mark and Courtney, so I was really bummed Chelsea got let go. I don't want Courtney to win, but I don't care which of the other 3 get it since they are all good! I love Joshua though, he's such a doll.
  5. That totally sucks! When I was in HS, my friend took me to get my eyebrows waxed. I knew nothing about how they should be done, and I kept going back to get them waxed. Well, apparently she was taking too much off in the middle. I found that out after I started going to the salon I go to now. So I let them grow, but the problem is since I had been getting them waxed regularly they grew back in sparse so now I always have to fill in the part of my eyebrow closest to my nose with eyeshadow. I've tried the eyebrow regrowth serum, but I think it is way past the point where that would work. Maybe you could try that or just fill in with shadow. Physicians Formula sells a quad of shadows that may work for you to match your eyebrow shade. I have been using it for years.
  6. Your bro got a real catch! I wouldn't even let it bother you. You are already being more than nice by not starting to plan your wedding until after theirs, so once you start planning do what you want, when you want and if she is too pregnant to come to the wedding then sucks to be her. You'd be better off anyway.
  7. Your pics are great! I love your hubby's expression when he opened the BD book.

We always dreamed of having our wedding in mexico (playa or cabo), but we're starting to second guess that lately with the ridiculous airfare prices! A houston-cabo flight is now around $850! I think on average if we went with an AI, our guests would spend $2,000 each coming to our wedding. We want a small wedding (around 50ish), but our extended family might not be too keen on spending that much ! Also, friends might not enjoy spending that much on coming to a wedding.. arg Vegas isn't free, but flights are much cheaper, and there are so many more hotel options to fit into any budget. Targeting a wedding next fall (Sept or Oct), so hopefully we decide the place soon! Welcome to the forum! You will find information on both locations which should help you decide. We are getting married in Riviera Maya since it was most cost effective for us and we could get more for our money in a beautiful setting than we could have gotten in the US. We also wanted to keep our guests to 50 or less and that is where we're at (we invited more than that). It sounds like you really want to have it in Mexico so I would say go with your gut and do what you want. If your budget allows you could always do a reception or something in Vegas afterwards.
  10. Your dress and shoes are super cute! Have a great time!
  11. There is an Aveda Institute in Chicao, but I've never gone. I do go to an Aveda Salon though. I love their products. I may have to check out the institute one of these days.
  12. Totally deserved after I checked out the thread. That looked like a lot of work, but so helpful to Dreams Tulum Brides. Congrats!
  13. I have. My company was going from being publicly traded to private equity and restructuring. The position that I was in was going to be changing and not for the better. They were actually taking away a lot of my responsibilities and I'd be taking a step backward. My manager and his boss both recommended me for a promotion, but since they were not handling anything with the restructure they had no control over who got placed in which position. I ended up getting hired by one of our clients and was there for 6 months. I kept in contact with everyone I worked with and they said the restructure was a complete mess and the people that they hired were not doing a good job and everyone was unhappy. They all threatened to leave unless something was done. They ended up firing a lot of the people they brought in because they were not performing, and the person that was put in charge of placing people did not put people in their proper positions. They ended up restructuring the whole team and promoted the right people. They offered me a nice package to come back at the position I should have been put in before so I decided to return. I had some leverage because they knew the reasons why I left, and I was a top performer. I liked the people I worked with at the new job, and got raise and higher level position than where I was at. I didn't really like the culture of the new company and didn't feel like I was learning much even though I was in a higher level position. I knew I would learn more going back to my prior company, and I have been back for almost 2 years. However, I no longer like what I'm doing and am currently looking for a career change. I plan on looking for a new job next year once things settle down after the wedding. My advice to is if you can handle the pay cut and will be happy in the job they are offering you I would go back. Sometimes the grass is not always greener on the other side.
  14. We're going to write our own vows. My FI is a total mush ball. He also used to be in a bad (drummer) and would write lyrics so it means a lot to him to have our wedding be personal. Now, I am not a mush ball so I don't know what the heck I am going to write! I did suggest we write them together so they kind of go together rather than having it be a surprise at the altar.
  15. My center stone is emerald, but is surrounded by pave diamonds. My ering was custom made and my wedding bands are being made to match. I think the baguettes would look the best, but maybe a princess cut channel setting might look OK. I think round diamonds might look weird since you don't have any in your ering.

How do I get the pics from my Mac to the frame? I can't figure it out. Problem #2: I also want to save some pics to disks to give to friends (of my niece's 3rd birthday party.) I burned the pics to a DVD+R disk, but they don't show up when I try to open the disk on a PC (which is what my friends have.) Uuuggghhh - see why I'm frustrated. Problem #3: And this may be a question for Apple directly. How do I install my old iTunes account on the new Mac? Thanks for your help. #1 - Did the frame come with a program to upload pics to link to the frame? Did it include a USB cord? That should connect to the frame to upload pics from iphoto. #2 - I recently tried to burn photos to a disc and haven't been able to figure it out either, so I am no help to you with this one. #3 - There is a program called TUnes Transfer you can get at Best Buy for $20, that will help transfer your music. It may not transfer all the songs though. When we bought our imac we lost a lot of our purchased songs and the free downloads. I luckily had burned most to CDs, but there were some that I didn't have a backup of. I emailed Apple and they were able to give me instructions on how to get some of the songs back. I don't have the email anymore and can't remember what I did.
  17. I used to have this problem as well since I always had my nails polished and would change the color weekly. I haven't had the problem so much now as I usually leave my polish on for two weeks or until it is really starting to chip. If I do my own nails I always buff them with that nile flile block and they use a similar one at the salon, but theirs seems to work better. There is also a clear polish that you can use called Yellow Out. It makes your nails look really white. I don't know what brand it is by though. I used to put that on before having a french manicure or if I didn't have time to polish with a color since that is really the only time I go without. Soaking them in lemon juice is supposed to help too, but that never worked for mine.

I'm guessing that Mark or Twitch will be the boy voted off and Courtney will be the girl. Thoughts... You read my mind. I bet Will will get a job with Alvin Alley too. I didn't think it was going to be him, but then right before they announced it I told my FI it was going to be Will because he didn't need to win the show. I really like Twitch and I just watched the Hairspray movie the other night and he was in it! He was one of Maybell's dancers. I don't like Mark and thought he should've been the one to get cut. I really like Katee and the blond girl - Chelsie? I can't think of her name at the moment.
