  1. the downloads at diybride.com do not appear to be working. Anyone have another site to suggest?
  2. Everyday My FI wants to know when the dining room table will be cleared off! And this after bringing most of the oot goods to my parents a few weeks ago to help with the transport to the Bahamas! On a plane in 2 weeks...
  3. Oh, we are also doing OOT bags. and possibly an excursion. With only 10 guests, it is easy to go overboard!
  4. You could make it something that has special meaning to the 2 of you. We are giving flashlights. Not your typical wedding favor, but a flashlight was the first thing my FI ever gave me, so it will be the first we give as a married couple. It is a gift that showed he cared for my safety, which made me love him. Even though it was a crazy gift at the time!
  5. kaycag, where did you get the artwork? (the flowers, etc) I would actually love to find fish to use or a heart with dots around it. We used a heart with dots from Michael's Mi Designs on our personalized tumblers and cocktail napkins (PS, really good prices when combined with a 40% off code)
  6. Who will be invited to the dinner? maybe something like: "As we prepare the next journey of our lives together, please join us in celebrating at a dinner reception..."
  7. Be patient with people responding! You need to remember if you are getting married during the school year, parents might need to figure out how long the kids can be pulled out. Others need to request time off work. Still others might be watching airfares to see what the average will be and if they can come. Don't forget your counters all show the other brides checking out your amazing sites, not just those you have invited!
  8. Did you create your logo yourself? I have been trying to figure out a logo, even though it isn't truly necessary as the only place they will be seen is on the OOT bags, but that is enough for me to want one! And fast, as we leave in 2 weeks!
  9. I like the idea of a cocktail reception for everyone. Maybe the in-laws could do dinner for family and then cocktails later and include everyone. We are staying at an all-inclusive, so it is not an issue with us, just finding a table for 12! I am looking into doing a sunset cruise the day before for everyone. There is an option to add dinner to the cruise. I think it's $45 pp for drinks, $75 or so to include dinner. I'm sure the food is better at the resort! It would be my FI and I paying for the cruise, so we have not decided if we want to add this expense.
  10. I was wondering the same thing! I will be paying the resort a package price for everything, so do we tip individually? Do you know how much the fees are for each item? I don't at our resort.
  11. Who do you think will do the best job carrying out all of the duties? You certainly don't need more drama as you prepare for your wedding.
  12. I have seen Matron of Honor and Maid of Honor. Since your original MOH is married, she could be your Matron of Honor, assuming the other is single could become the Maid of Honor
  13. A beach wedding seemed perfect for us. I have always said there are too many places on earth to visit to go back to the same pace twice, but here we are traveling back to the Bahamas in less than 12 months. I choose it as our wedding destination as FI mother has only flown once and father hasn't flown in years, so I wanted it to be a non-stop and somewhat short flight for them. Having been to the resort certainly made us more comfortable as we know what the food is like (some All-inclusives have terrible food). But best of all, great scuba diving! Sharks and more sharks.
  14. I think marid2012's wording is good. Let people know the rate of the resort, all that it offers, as well as the price of a day pass if they choose to stay elsewhere. We chose an all-inclusive for several reasons. Yes, there are probably cheaper resorts on the island. However, when you factor in all the meals are covered, it becomes an inexpensive vacation, it just might not seem like it at first. We only invited immediate family and didn't really tell many people except for immediate family of the plans. We thought it inappropriate to ask others to spend so much to attend our wedding.
  15. Could you bring champagne to the site and have a celebration there?
  16. Wow! everyone is so ahead of the game! Good job everyone with staying so organized so early.
  17. I'm trying to picture how it would play out. Will you have bridesmaids and groomsmen, and if so, what will they do when you are dancing?
