  1. TropicalBride10: I'm getting married at Jalousie in May, but it will be a very small wedding. Marcus is their wedding planner and has been great to work with so far. He was in Africa for a few months and just returned, so that may be why you haven't heard back from someone. Anyway, they sent me a price sheet that I can forward along, but they said that with the remodeling and name change (they are now called Sugar Beach) that the pricing would change. Here's what I was able to find online: http://www.viceroyhotelsandresorts.com/en/sugarbeach/weddings/wedding_packages If you send me your email, I'll forward you the price list they sent me. It includes all the details... bridal spa services, cake, photography, etc. Cheers!
  2. Hi girls! I'm getting married in St. Lucia at the Jalousie Plantation May 17th of next year... It's just going to be me, my fiance, and two friends. No one else (not even the parents) are going to be there. With that said, I'm wondering how the actual ceremony will work. We will be getting married up in the rainforest, overlooking the ocean and pitons (mountains). I keep thinking that I'm going to roll up in a golf cart while they stand there and watch me mosey on up... and then it's over.... or something like that. It just sounds so silly to me! Does anyone know what to expect, or how to make it a little more 'special'? Thanks!
  3. Thanks so much for the info! It sounds like you had a wonderful trip. Now I'm going to figure out how to wear my hair...
  4. Hi there! So, I have a question about the humidity... We are getting married at the Jalousie Plantation on May 17, 2013 at 4pm.... I wanted to wear my hair down, but now I'm thinking that won't even be an option if it's so hot and humid... and nevermind the makeup. I'm having my dress made because I want something lighter and all the dresses I've tried on so far are really heavy or satin.... I'm just hoping to be comfortable at this point. Any pointers? I'm also concerned about the mosquitoes, but there's not much I can do about that. Any other advice about the weather is appreciated! Thanks!
  5. Hello, My fiance and I are planning on getting married on May 17, 2013 in St. Lucia. We are from Ohio, so humidity isn't anything new for us. The average humidity here is usually somewhere between 70-80%... That's similar to what I'm seeing on the island. Has anyone been to St. Lucia around that time of year and can speak to how humid it is? I'm wondering if it's really comparable to Ohio, or maybe more like Florida... I just hope it's not really bad! Thanks!
