  1. Love your makeup and dress!! The TTD pics are soooo good. Congrats.
  2. You are your own worst critic, so as long as you are ok with it then it should be fine. I think that at minimum, the colours should match.
  3. I really think you should try to choose a resort that is going to take care of everything for you. There are sooo many resorts out there with great wedding packages. I think you might have a lot of headaches trying to organize a wedding offsite. Destination weddings are supposed to be a breeze! But if you want the extra work then go for it. Goodluck
  4. The dress is gorgeous and you look amazing. Who cares if its a destination wedding. Its your WEDDING, and you can wear whatever you want!! The DW is not stopping me from buying what I love.
  5. This is a difficult situation. I understand that sometimes there are people that cannot attend your wedding, but when parents are unable to attend then maybe you should really sit down and weigh things out. From the information you have given, and if I were in your shoes I think I would reconsider the Destination Wedding and do it locally. Just make sure you go somewhere amazing for your honeymoon. Goodluck.
  6. Nothing wrong with 3 best men!! It's your wedding and you can design it to be whatever you like. My fiancee doesnt want to choose just one person for his best man. He might not even have a best man. They will just all be his best men.
  7. One more thing.....if they havents rsvp'd it is probably because they dont/cant attend and they just want to avoid expressly saying that they cant go. They are probably just avoiding having to say that they cant go. Again....give them a call when the time gets closer.
  8. I think you should just give your invitees a call a couple months before the trip. Personal interaction is always nice. The reminder postcard is not very pleasant.
  9. My mom offered and is more than happy to buy me my dress!
  10. I think having a reception on the beach is beautiful. You def. need to find out if it gets windy normally or not. It also depends on who your guests are. If it is mostly younger people who dont care about sand and wind etc then you should be fine. However, if you have older guests, they may prefer a reception indoors or just out of the sand. I think the beach is gorgeous, but I have personally opted for either the indoor or poolside just incase it does get windy.
  11. I would definitely include a single all inclusive price on the invites.
  12. I don't think you should ask. I think you should be able to cover the entire wedding yourself. If you get a gift from them, then all the better. Personally, my fiancee and I are saving for the entire cost of the wedding with no expectations. You shouldnt have to depend on the help.
  13. I like the 2nd and 3rd ones. The palm trees are much prettier and realistic in those.
  14. Do not feel guilty. This is your day. It is starting to feel like weddings are being done for the guests and not the bride and groom. This is your dream wedding. Not anyone else's and it is absolutely not fair of people to make you feel uncomfortable with your choices and decisions. I wouldnt worry too much about all the wording you want to put in your invites/stds about understanding if people cant go etc etc. Its an invitation and thats it. If they want to share in your day they will.
  15. things on my mind : Weekend!
  16. No time to change anything now. Just enjoy your day!!!
  17. I don't think you can change the date of your wedding/marriage certificate if you get married in Canada. The meeting the judge at 1 and having the symbolic at 5 is a great idea though! I never even thought of that.
  18. Hi Catherine...if I were you, I would do the legal wedding in England or Canada. It's going to be complicated enough as it is in your own country, let alone trying to figure things out in the Dominican. The wedding ceremony is what matters - not the silly paperwork. Good luck with whatever you do.
  19. In that case, I would do 2 websites then. If you were inviting everyone to the destination, then you could put all the info on one site, but if that`s not the case I guess you could have separate sites.
  20. I say get a videographer. I would regret not having the video. This is your special day. Do what you can to fit it in your budget.
  21. Just call the DR consulate in Toronto. They should be able to take care of everything for you. Passports are a must. I am opting against all the legalities. I am just going with the symbolic ceremony. It is practically the same thing and no one is going to know the difference. Plus I am going to save a tonne in legal costs. I even read somewhere that the judge showed up late to a wedding, so the wedding coordinator ended up doing the wedding. I will just get my wedding licence at home. Good luck!
  22. woops...scratch that lol MTV = Bieber my Balls (in Canada!)
