  1. I love your welcome bags, and if only I knew how many people were coming...those look amazing.
  2. I am using a TA, and at first I wasn't sure about the TA I was assigned she just didn't seem to fit what I thought I wanted, plus English was not her native language and she didn't understand a lot of the questions that I had. So I had the same feeling as you as to why do I need her when I found BDW and I could do it all myself. What I love most is that my group rates go down if pricing goes down which it already has and I didn't have to ask her to do anything about it, I opened my email one day to an amended contract with better pricing. Rock on! Plus those are the types of details I do not want to worry about. I want to focus on the fun stuff and dealing directly with the resort and negotiating and all that is just not my idea of fun! She's not the one who will help with the details on the actual day but I trust that she is looking out for me and my guests in the long run.
  3. I agree about not panicing but the 2009 promotion was different than the 2010 promotion and they carried over the 2010 promotion to 2011 and 2012 and it has only gotten better IMO with more options and everything. I don't think I consider it a game, but I think they do try to change up the promotions to get people in. One of the main reasons I chose the palace resorts is because of this promotion and the opportunity for my guests to do tours and dolphin swims and everything without having to pay anything extra to do it. It's a fabulous promotion and they know it is, so even if they don't use the same promo they have usually had something similar.
  4. I voted for the peach to help bring out the peach in your flower inspiration. Pinks tend to draw my eye which is why I am using it as my color, but the peach I think will help accent the finer details
  5. Hammer, are you using a travel agent or are you booking direct through the resort? My TA (contract) only requires a $100.00 deposit per person w/final payment due by 2/1/12 for my April 2012 wedding. We paid for the initial deposit but as people book that cost gets deducted from our final payment. I am not sure if you've thought about a travel agent, but that might be a better option if you are really focused on that promotion. I will say it is a great promotion as we used it at FSIL wedding last October, and they carried it over to this year, but it is not guaranteed. Also there is a minimum stay requirement for that promotion of 3 nights so if that is a concern as well, I would look into it.
  6. Your weekend sounds like awesome fun Coco. Have a blast with your ladies and I can't wait to hear about the dresses you try on
  7. I know I was so excited about it today. Here is the link I was using FI's iphone to post and I don't really know how to work it http://www.davidsbridal.com/Product_9SAS1229-9SAS1229_Sale-Sale-Bridal-Gowns
  8. I got my TTD dress on sale for $49.99. It is a full length gown with slight embellishment on the bodice at the best price. Hope everyone finds something
  9. I really wish I could go have a mini vacation and do a site visit, but a 3 day stay is like $500.00 right now, and I don't know if that includes airfare, plus i don't know if FI would really want to go.
  10. Even though a lot of his family has young kids and we anticipated would say no, the responses we are getting on the reply cards is amazing. Even though there are a lot of "no" responses most everyone leaves us special note thanking us for including them and commenting on our invites. So that makes the effort worth it 100%
  11. Laurel, Ideas are great! I think I still have hundreds Do you have ideas about what you might want to do ?
  12. Congrats Lindy! It's always awesome to get confirmed and feel like you can officially just start planning.
  13. i bought mine on amazon both the card holders and the lanyards
  14. My guests transfers are included in my package cost through my TA so that is nice
  15. J-Me, We sent out invites to all of our guests that we sent STD's too even if they said no at that time. #1. We didn't want anyone to feel excluded #2. The invites are special to us and the people are special so *we* wanted to include everyone and #3. They will be more apt to still feel like a part of your day even though they can't actually be there.
  16. Have you checked your local craft stores with the make your own invitation options or local office supply stores. That is why we did MIB invites because it would have cost the same if we found some online and pre-ordered them from an invite printer. Also have you checked out Vista Print they are currently doing 10 invites for free just the cost of shipping but that might be an option too. Lots of avenues to explore especially if you want to get crafty yourself or just crafty with your budget.
  17. They are pretty good quality, I have these with the black handles for my oot bags, smaller than I would have thought but the perfect size and easily packable which is a major plus
  18. My FSIL got married at the BP in October 2010 which is why we are now having a DW at the Moon Palace. I loved the BP, we were the photographers for her event so that made it even more special for us. I can't say enough about the BP staff, Cristian the bartender at the Swim Up Bar rocks make sure to ask to make lemon drop magic shots It's a beautiful place to be married.
  19. Matt, I just love your work it's amazing, and how you are able to take a thought and make it a picture is breathtaking. I envy all the Del Sol Brides. And yes less is definitely more.
  20. Welcome Ess, Cancun Palace is one resort that I look forward to visiting when we are down there in April. Congratulations and happy planning
