Seeing all the pictures and hearing about actual weddings makes this 2012 ready to go now Terp girl I hope your wedding exceeds any and expectations. Congratulations I look forward to being able to share in all of your stories.
  2. I am wishing it was time to go now. I am not even anywhere near ready with no dress to speak of but I can't help it. Seeing all the amazing pictures floating around lately I just want to be a Mrs. and share that experience.
  3. Great thanks! I had some of those, and I agree I want someone in the picture too. I was also thinking of adding some wedding stuff to it. If I do a Horse Drawn Carriage, A picture of me in the HDC etc... We are also going to have a Mini Golf Tournament after we get married because that was our first date, so a picture of the bride putting or the groom teeing off etc Getting a pedicure Frolicking in the Ocean A picture of any other Palace resort
  4. Okay ladies, I'm wanting to do a photo scavenger hunt. FI and I are huge photo geeks, and we want to give our guests a challenge and we want to share in the memories. For those of you who have been to the MP before, do you know of any awesome spots that I should include?
  5. Working on our secondary newsletter and June 18th is dress shopping.
  6. We've got our invitations all done, it took a group of 5, 4 hours to complete all 52 MIB invitations. What a process, but I totally hope that my guests enjoy them and appreciate the effort. What is everyone else up to with their planning?
  7. I am so excited that there are so many of us getting married around the same time next year. We have completed 11 whole invitations only 42 more to go It's a time consuming process and now that i am done with the reply cards hopefully the actual invitation wrapping will go smoother. Anyone have any ideas about any extra decorations you want to bring down with you? I am thinking of a few parasols and chair bows but I don't really have a passion for flowers etc plus you can't bring them home with you so I can't see adding that expense.
  8. I found some essential oils at Bath and Body Works (normally used for their room diffusers). We used about 20 drops of oil and mixed it with the bag of sand. The scent holds pretty well too! We chose Vanilla Coconut but they had a lot of fun tropical scents to choose from.
  9. Welcome future RN, you will be arriving the day that I get married.
  10. Kay- I got my bottles at http://www.sandartsupplies.com it was the best deal we were able to find. And $$ depends on quantity ordered. Thanks for agreeing with me I don't like the umbrellas either. When we originally started working on it, the idea sounded fun and our prototype had one but when I put the actual invitation in that we designed it didn't seem to fit anymore.
  11. Congrats Queen Diva, I look forward to reading all about it and seeing your amazing pictures
  12. Okay so umbrella or no umbrella, we are having the philosophical discussion about whether the umbrella adds to the the bottle or cheapens it somehow. What do you all think?
  13. Kris10 I am getting married on April 17, and I want to have my RSVP's in by Christmas 2011. I am hoping that the people who want to come will be booked long before that though. We'll see and thank you so much for the compliments on the invites. It makes the work worth it when it turns out the way you hope it will
  14. Iron Man - Robert Downey Jr
  15. Totally agree if you love it buy it! (and it looks great on you) My FSIL was a Destination Bride who wore Tea length and said how she doesn't think DB's should wear long dresses. I told her to bite me just because we are choosing a DW doesn't mean that I should forfeit having the beautiful long dress I always pictured myself wearing

  18. Instructions etc... Paper, we used Southworth 24 lb parchment paper from Office Max in Ivory (located near resume papers)as we wanted something that had it's own texture, and I didn't want to start with white, I wanted something that already had dimension. I created the invitations in word and found an antique map of Cancun that I used as the back drop of our "treasure map" invitation, the words are mine and hopefully that makes them even more special. Printed using a Laser printer as an inkjet didn't hold the character of the map as well. Step One after printing: We hand tore all the edges to make the invitation to the size we wanted, and hand tearing made it feel more battered and fun Step Two: You definitely will not believe how easy this was: since we started with the ivory paper and the invitation had the map that was a slightly deeper ivory we used regular old tea bags to age the paper further. Soak the invite front and back with the wet tea bags, and then we beat the front of the paper with the bags and they would split open and the tea leaves would dig into the texture of the paper. Preheat your oven to 200 degrees bake for 6 minutes and voila! We had to clean off the baked and dried tea, but in total the tearing, teaing and baking took 3.5 hours. We had researched how to age paper online, and read different ways to do it and we decided to see what would could do using our own ideas mixed with those of others and I am so happy they turned out so well. This forum is an amazing source of inspiration and I can't wait to send these out to our guests. However, FI told me today everyone loved our DIY Boarding Pass STD's and they will love the MIB invites, what on earth can we possibly do for our thank yous that will out do these. In reality I have NO idea but I have about a year for you all to inspire me further. Thank you so much
  19. Those are awesome, we have been trying to come up with something to do for the boxes and I might just have to take some inspiration from you. So thank you.
