I agree with Janette, do you what will make you the most happy. Of course you want your family there, BUT if it was important to them they would find a way and they would also understand WHY you don't want to plan a local wedding. At the end of the day all that matters is you and your FI and your marriage not everything that goes into the wedding, but what you take into your marriage with you.

I agree my TA is a huge relief and she takes care of all the bs issues and will deal with all my guests etc...plus if there are any issues I know she is there for me to help keep me sane and not go crazy.

I am kind of nervous about dress shopping. We are going next weekend as well, I am going with FI's mom and sister. We don't have a bridal party yet, but I want to ask his sister, as she is incredibly important to me and our relationship did NOT start out the best. It was way more than rocky, so I got her a card and I want to give it to her on Saturday when we go dress shopping.

I am having to remind myself of that too, I am having a DW because it is so amazing already. Why am I really worrying about center pieces and what not, the only thing I really would love is chair bows and that is only because that is the one small thing that I feel adds to the gazebo look and I think it'd be beautiful for our cocktail hour. Plus I wouldn't have to set it up

Hi Amy, Planning a wedding period is daunting, but a DW can be as easy or as hard as you want to make it. My FSIL picked a resort and was okay without making any additional plan regarding her wedding until she arrived, and it was beautiful and totally stress free for her. Then there is me, I love the little details; but even though I do having a DW makes the details less annoying and more fun and I don't have to worry about decorating a whole location because it is already done for me by God and nature. So have fun with it, think about the kind of resort you and FI want, and go from there. I would check out working with a travel agent because they will be an invaluable resource, I know there are a LOT recommended here.

I'm kind of bummed, I emailed him almost a week ago with no response I am not sure if my resort can do the bouquet that I want and I know that he used those flowers in another brides bouquet.

Hey ladies! How goes the planning? We have started to get responses back from our invites, and so far there is only 1 additional yes that hasn't booked yet. That is okay though, everyone says they are going to go and I am okay with it if they don't go. Of course I want EVERYONE to go but that is not realistic. I found a steal of a dress for our TTD session, $49.99. Totally stoked with myself on that one. I am heading out dress shopping next weekend with FSIL and FMIL and we'll see what I come up with on that front. I finished our second newsletter this weekend with updates for everyone. It is kind of fun to do that kind of stuff. It gives me little projects to focus on in between. I have been trying to get details worked out with the resort but since MP doesn't allow contact with onsite coordinators until 3 months out I am annoying someone in Miami to help me but she doesn't seem to have a whole lot of answers which makes me feel bad for the brides that don't have a TA to step in. What are you all up to? How is planning going?

.The TA that I am working with has told me to not even bother booking my flights for my April 2012 wedding until October/November as that is when the pricing will go down. It is nice that we don't have to book our flights through her, but I am still going to check it out with her to see what she can do for us. And flight schedules are not out until typically 330 days before the date of travel. So I am not sure why/how your TA was quoting you that far in advance

That is awesome Coco congrats! I am so happy for you! Isn't it funny how you go into your dress fittings with a specific idea of what you'll want, and it may not always be the one you end up with. I am *trying* to go in with an open mind because i have NO idea what will look good on me and I know what i like, but i am not sure it will like me.

We printed ours at home but we chose to use fun pink sparkly paper instead of decorate the boarding pass so everything was black and pink our wedding colors. We had looked at office max and it wasn't so bad if you provided the paper

I found my TTD for $49.99 at the David's Bridal Semi Annual Clearance sale yesterday. I couldn't pass it up not at that price. I didn't intend on having 2 dresses so maybe i'll end up loving my TTD dress more than any other dress I try on.
