  1. They're so beautiful!!!!!!!! I love the colors
  2. I would say that if you CAN then you should....but I'd tend to agree with the other girls that you'll have a hard time booking airfare/hotel rates. Although I'm sure there are some resorts that will at least accept a downpayment for to reserve your wedding on that date. PS: 9/10/11 is an amazing date!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  3. This is a challenge for all brides - you are not alone. In our case, we have 4 teachers standing up in our wedding (3 of which have unstable jobs), so we knew we had to pick a date that was either a holiday or during the summer so they'd have time off and would not have to risk their jobs to come. We chose the thanksgiving holiday. It all depends on what you'd like to factor in....if you want to avoid hurricane season, if you want to avoid holidays, etc... there are plenty of good dates that some people might have off work (Like Martin Luther King Day, or Presidents Day, etc) throught the year. Pull out a calendar and see what dates jump out at you. Do you have to have a saturday or could you do a friday or a week day?

  6. Erin - I love you! Your posts make me laugh and I know you can totally relate! After my last thread, I really do feel a lot better. The feedback from BDW really gave me insight I had not considered before and I felt more normal knowing other girls struggle with similar situations. It just makes you feel less crazy because as women we tend to beat ourselves up over this kind of stuff, especially when in the back of our minds we know its stupid and we shouldnt compare ourselves. Thanks for thinking of me
  7. I'm not a cruise bride, but I'm sending formal invites to those who have already booked....because like a dummy i put on my STD's "formal invite to follow".....so i feel like i have to! i think it would be fine if you didnt though!
  8. OMG, that is amazing!! Congrats on your hard work & dedication and 140 pound weight loss!!!! it's never too early so start planning/researching where you'd like to go! Welcome to the forum

  10. Mods - I'm just wondering why this is being linked to MegaShay even though I posted the thread? Did I do something wrong?
  11. weird - I was just going to ask this. I'm torn on TTD, but considering DIY style and having my BF take the pics?
  12. No Problem!!! I think I found the exact one, is this it? http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/2927730/...origin=related
  13. we dated for about 2 years when he proposed and will be getting married exactly 2.5 years to the day we met We decided on a short engagement because we're just ready to go!
  14. ugh! I think its just written that even if your bf/fi/dh doesnt like strip clubs, he has at least 1 friend that does! I have to try not to think of any part of their night out, and I don't ask questions because hearing the details only makes me feel jealous. I tell myself that I've been to several CRAZY bachelorette parties and I know that they'd make my FI uncomfortable too...and he is always nothing but nice about them. So.........yes I think most of us can relate and I think the best advice is Yamille's to distract yourself! You know he loves you and you trust him, and there is no way this isn't going to make you uncomfortable.....its just one of those things! Don't Stress!
  15. I love it! I tried this one on when I first went dress shopping and was tempted to buy it before I found my dress. I'm currently looking for a TTD dress, but my budget is $200. I think you can get a better deal on this dress, so keep me in mind and if no one offers PM me! Thanks :)
  16. Great Thread! We're staying a different resort for our honeymoon for this exact reason! Otherwise you better believe I'd be praying they booked shorter stays! Savannah I think you've got a great approach by pusing the 3 & 4 night packages A little subconcious push!
  17. Hey Darcy! Sounds like an awesome deal and I'm in Chicago! Do you have a pic?

  19. McToasty- I think you answered your own question in your first post! I would say explain that you wish you could invite everyone but you simply cannot afford it and just relate to them that you are disappointed too, but this is the way it is and you're sorry. EVERYONE should understand the money issue, considering we're in a recession and I'm not sure who is paying for your wedding - but if you are, it gives you all the more reason to keep it small. If your parents are - you obviously don't want to put them out so in that case you could mention that as well....its all TRUE. In my case, we invited over 200 knowing none of them would come....my mom is italian and "HAD TO" do it. I personally was against it, but since she's paying I let her invite whoever she wanted. We've only had 29 book thus far - out of 200! I didn't invite anyone from work - which I feel really bad about - but I only work with 30 people and I couldn't pick & choose. Good Luck!
