(They think it's ridiculous to spend that much money on shoes.)

Oh Yes...and the Grass. Forgot about that!
  3. One of the main reasons is that Jamaica is the first trip we took as a couple. While I was open to other places, in the end Jamaica is a pretty inexpensive trip from the US in comparison to other islands and we wanted it to be affordable to our guests. We ended picking the resort because it was the perfect combination between that All Inclusive feel with tons of activities, but small enough that our guests would take up the majority if not all of the resort and ours would be the only wedding on that day. Jamaica may not be the sexiest of locations but you can't beat the hospitality of the people.

If you read it, it makes a lot of sense and it's not a thing where you starve yourself. There's a great mix of protein, carbs, and fat...which are all essential to everyone's health and the author also talks about how getting a cheat day a week has great psychological impact on people. I actually really enjoy following CYWT for the most part. You know... you are proably right, and for someone who doesn't know what the right type of foods are, it would probably be very helpful. Not all diets are crazy, but most are impossible to maintain in every day life, leaving us feeling "bad" or like we "cheated" if we eat something that is not on the "list". (And God forbid if we have a vacation or dinner party coming up...there's no way!) People don't function normally when they constantly have to measure, count, restrict, and obsess over food. You end up feeling punished and deprived and end up eating a whole pizza in the end! LOL It's just not natural to eat like that and if you have to rely on a regimen and strict rules you proably aren't going to stick with it no matter how much will power you have. I think most people know that choosing veggies or fruit or lean protein over a bag of doritos is the heathier choice. However if in the moment you really want doritos, have a few and don't get crazy about it. Fill up on the veggies and once you give yourself the freedom to have the doritos when and if you really want them, you won't end up eating the whole bag and may not want them at all.
  5. Great Conversation, Ladies! By the way, have any of you read Naturally Thin by Bethanny Frankle (of Real Houswives of NY fame)? It is a great way to get out of the whole yo-yo dieting thing and start living healthfully and stop obsessing about diet and exercise! I'm thinking about starting a thread that includes the 10 rules to "Unleash your skinny girl and Free yourself from a lifetime of Dieting". It bothers me to read all the threads in this forum about these crazy diets that will all end of failing in the end!!!
  6. IDK...I'm no expert but I thought it was intereting. It's amazing how a new study comes out every week regarding weight loss and if you listen to them all you will end up very confused! I've personally put an end to dieting and just try to live healthfully and do what makes sense to my body. Excerise is definitely a part of my life but on the other hand, if there is a day (or two) that I don't feel like going, I don't! It is all about balance in the end.
  7. Has anyone read this article in People Magazine? INTERESTING! It actually makes total sense. Exercise is great for so many reasons and no one is denying that. (I exercise at least 4-5 days/week.) Think about it though, when you are exercising, you give yourself the "okay" to eat a little more. I've been an athlete my entire life but weight loss has only been acheived when I dramatically changed my eating habits and cut calories. I just thought it was worth sharing as so many of us are trying to look our best for the big day!!!
  8. Congratulations and Happy Planning!

  10. Great Idea! I am an h-2-0 gal, but i could always add an extra glass. I often find that what i think is hunger is often thirst.
  11. destinationweddings.com, right I've been working with them for a few months now and my experience has been pretty good so far. It also probably depends on which consultant you are working with as well. I'm not sure if all travel agents/destination wedding planners have this option, but what most attracted me to this site was the payment plan option for the guests. Let me know what you decide on. As our date approaches, I want to make sure I know what to expect.
  12. Congratulations! (We are celebrating our 5th this month.) I agree...time does fly when you're having fun.
  13. Wow! The dress is gorgeous. You will definitely stand out on your wedding day! (It reminds me a lot of Pnina Tornai from Kleinfelds and I am in love with her designs.) Congratulations!!!
  14. Last night--Spin Class and Back. (I feel skinny this morning!)
