  1. I guess it's hit or miss with the brokerage fees. I had to pay when mine came in! Yours turned out great! Love the colours ... I'm a little biased because I chose blue mugs with a white print too, hee hee!

If you're stopping at other hotels along the way, it could be up to 1-1/2 hrs. Also, you'll read horror stories about potholes and such on the roads -- I've ridden on worse roads in cottage country!
  3. Thank you Tammy for taking a hobby and turning it into a lifesaver for destination brides. The name says it all, it really is the BEST Destination Wedding Forum. Anything you do to improve it just makes the experience that much better for the users, although I will miss the siggy pics! Thank you again Tammy. You're our hero!!!!!
  4. Oh no!!! Don't feel bad, we've all thrown out something valuable unintentionally. Have you contacted the hotel yet to see what they can do for you?
  5. Great review, and smart choice to have the resort photographer shoot the TTD. May as well take advantage of what comes with the wedding package!

(I almost died... I'm paying $1500 for this puppy -- minus alterations -- and they're selling it for just under $400.) I have to get a few alterations done, too. The bust is a little too tight and it's way too long (I'm 5'6.5", but am wearing flats... probably). So think it over and let me know... Anyway, here's one of the links I found: Sottero and Midgley Wedding Dresses - Style Landis :: Sottero & Midgley :: Wedding Dresses :: TopBridalDresses OMG Melaina I want to get married again just so that I can wear that dress! I LOVE IT!
  7. I think you're a lot better DIYing than you realize. Everything came out great, now relax and have a great wedding!!
  8. They came out great, but they are a little girly. May-be make some plain ones (ribbon only) for the guys and then you won't have to worry about buying battery-opeated fans for them
  9. Those are cute Steph, but just a wee caution ... some unscrupulous folks who may unfortunately be staying at your resort would look upon a message such as "meet me at the pool bar" as an invitation to break into a room, knowing the occupants are "at the pool bar". Some brides have used them successfully without any issues, but just be aware that the possibility for misuse exists.
  10. If you want her off your back for now, just say "thanks for the great idea" and leave it at that. She won't know if you're going to follow through until the day of your wedding and by then, it's too late. Awww, too bad. It would only be a temporary fix as people like her will never stop trying to control others; it's their nature and most will never admit it's a problem. THe only thing that might work (after the wedding) is to cut off ties until she gets the message. Good luck!!!!!
  11. If you guys were there for a whole week, this would probably be a non-issue, but, 3 days is not a lot of time. I think your suggestion to do something back home instead is a good one. And, if your FI is OK with that, then don't beat yourself up over it!
  12. Great job! THe colours and graphics you chose are perfect. If there's one little thing I can suggest, it's to move your names over a bit as they get a little lost in the trees.
  13. Congratulations! Everything looked amazing and how great is it that they found your missing luggage!!
  14. Loved the 'preggers' threat! I agree with you that he doesn't need to steal your thunder -- it's your wedding after all. I also think it was nice of you to compromise by suggesting he do it AFTER the wedding (I assume you mean while still at the resort). THat way, you get to be the star on your day, and he gets to propose to the love of his life at a beautiful venue while his BF has his back. It's a win win for everyone.
  15. She did an amazing job. Your guests are going to love them! I really love that she did the matching envelopes for you too. Very classy!
  16. Glad that you're well on your way to solving the problem -- just wanted to pipe in that that cake is gorgeous! I hope your baker can duplicate it for you.
