  1. Good article, expect the only comment I'm not sure about is "stay away from expensive all-inclusive resorts". In my experience the opposite is true. You get a deal on the accomodations, but then by the time you add up 3 meals, snacks, drinks and alcohol each day x the length of your stay, you've usually spent a lot more than you would have at an all-inclusive.
  2. Ladyanik - as far as I know, you can't have a Catholic ceremony any place other than a church. Many of the brides have had to make arrangements to have their ceremony offsite at a local church, and then return to their resort for the reception. Once you decide on your resort, the wedding coordinator should be able to help you with the planning. Alternatively, other couples who have done this should have some advice for you.
  3. If your aunt's not complaining, then don't worry about it. Your mom is so over the moon with happiness, and after everything she's been through, I would just indulge her and let her enjoy helping out.
  4. The ladies have good suggestions, except for loua4's thoughts on wishing the little girl happy birthday on your wedding day, lol! Sorry Loua4 . What harm could it do to put a cupcake down in front of her and make a tiny fuss about it being her b'day? It will make her smile, which will make everybody else smile, which will make you guys look pretty darned special too. I'm admittedly biased because I have personal experience with this issue, he he ... when one of my cousins was married, on MY birthday, he and his new wife surprised me with a full cake and carried it over to my table themselves! I was in my thirties and I still smile every time I think of it!
  5. I agree with Jolene512. You may want to reconsider the background colour. Other than that, it's very nice.
  6. Are you going to put the date/place on it too? What are prominent wedding colours?
  7. Ha ha!! There's a spelling mistake in my previous post! See, I already miss it!
  8. It definitely came it handy -- I've had to correct spelling, links, etc. in many posts and not having it there is going to be a PITA! I guess I'll have to type s l o w e r and proofread better before I hit "submit".
  9. @4therestofmylife, I got them from a Canadian vendor. Here's her link: http://www.fairychaircover.com/. Her prices were good too Â
  10. If some other kind soul here on BDW can't help you retrieve it, you can take your computer to Best Buy/Future Shop (or any computer shop really) and the teckies might be able to find it on your harddrive. Good luck !
  11. They look great. If you're thinking of adding more info, a ceremony order (list?) might be a good add too. It would give the guests an idea of what to expect, eg., reading, vow exchange, sand ceremony, etc.
  12. In addition to the sand ceremony, how about having them "escort" the guests to their seats?
  13. Not true ladies! I thought so too, but it did the email rounds and I got suspicious, so I checked it out on Snopes. Here's the link that explains how this is just an urban legend: Â http://www.snopes.com/weddings/embarrass/bothered.asp
  14. Anyone who is a notary public can do this for you. It's usually a lawyer, but there are non-lawyers who are notaries too. If you don't personally know anyone, you can use a service like http://www.redsealnotary.com/.
