Hi Bo, I too am getting married at RIU Vallarta in November. Right now leaving from Denver for 5 days it is running almost $900 for lodging and airfare. The RIU hotels have really good prices for their wedding packages. When I first started planning I did a comparison on all the amenities and the RIU's had the most for the money. It is a little further away from downtown, but it is probably the most affordable. I toured both the RIU Vallarta and RIU Jalisco and they were both nice properties. The gazebo at Jalisco is stunning. If you stay at the Vallarta you can use most of the amenities at the Jalisco. If you stay at the new RIU Pacifico, you can use most of the amenities at all of the RIU properties. Let us know how we can help!

Yeah - that's kind of what I figured. It is basically a culture thing. Whille I am an UBER Planner - I expect a lot of things will just wait till we get there. I am leaving a lot of the negotiating up to my dad because he speaks Spanish fluently - and hopefully that will help. If not - we'll just wait and see! When people refer to "Mexico Time" - that is what it means - things are a lot slower than we are used to. At restaurants and everywhere things are much slower paced. I think right now the only thing we are waiting on is mariachis - $700 for 45 minutes! I am going to see if my dad can negotiate the price down some. Wedding cake - we are just going to have the hotel do it because we could never get in touch with anyone anywhere else. Reception Dinner - we are going to just see if they can fit our group in at Fajita Republic in Nuevo Vallarta. We have tried to contact them and got no response. We are definitely going to take care of our WC! I am going to hook her up with an OOT bag filled with local stuff from here and a nice tip. She works her butt off!

Vistaprint had free t-shirts - so I ordered Mother of the Bride (for my stepmom) and Mother of the Groom shirts for my FI's mom. All I paid was $4.44 each which was tax only! YAY!! Wow Danielle, how sad. My heart aches for your mom. Your SIL is a you know what. That bonding story is a bunch of BS and she knows it! I had my son at 11pm and didn't hold him till 9am the next morning! Oh whatever! Your brother needs to step in NOW and get his wife in check! She should not be able to use that precious baby as a pawn. Your parents sound SO lovely and she should be lucky and fortunate to have such caring in-laws. Tell your parents not to back off. That is their 1st grandbaby and they NEED to be in it's life. She is making a HUGE mistake in pushing them away. All she is creating is animosity between herself, her family, her friends and your family. Nothing good will come out of this if it isn't snipped in the bud right now. Tell your bro to get his balls out of her purse and step up. Just because she is older than him does not make her wiser!

We were in Puerto Vallarta last November after Thanksgiving and it was decorated. It seemed SO odd to us to be in a tropical place with X Mas decor - it just wasn't right! LOL! Probably because we live in a state where Christmas=cold and snow. It was really odd. After a while we just got used to it.
