Thanks Jessica, i wouldn't even know they existed if it wasn't for you. How was everyone's weekend? Sweet deal at K&G - I have been wanting to go there! Let me go first with my weekend.... Saturday morning - as my daughter was eating breakfast, I noticed she had CUT A HUGE CHUNK OF HAIR MISSING FROM THE MIDDLE OF HER HAIRLINE!! I could have strangled her! She said that she had a piece of hair that kept fallling out of place, and it irritated her so bad that she just pulled it out! My daughter has baby fine, naturally curly hair. Her hair does not grow past her shoulders. It takes MONTHS ...possibly YEARS to grow it back. I will have to color in the spot where her hair is missing for the wedding. Her head looks like crap - I was mad because she is going to look terrible in wedding pics. AND she looks like a dork because her hairline is JACKED UP! She has this short area where the hair was that looks and feels like stubble. Right below that she has these wisps of baby fine hair. I could have killed her! We did yardwork ALL weekend! My muscles are SO sore! But our yard looks beautiful! We put chicken wire around 10 sections of split rail fence so our son will quit escaping the yard. (I swear he is like a puppy). I planted 6 bushes, flowers and we added patio pavers to extend some of our patio. Needless to say, my legs and arms are SO sore, I have a scrape and bruise on my shin where two 18 inch concrete pavers fell on me, I have about 8 mosquito bites, AND - I discovered last night that I had an ant in my pants and got several ant bites on my butt! LOL! Oh yeah - and I got a great tan from all that work! Whewww...I'm tired just talking about it!

Mexican Wedding Flags

Thanks Maura! I was going to order some from Marcia's Mexican Wonders and we kept going rounds over the shipping - I just want an easy place to deal with. These sound great! -
We plan on working in the yard this weekend since it will be nice. We are having a party for the kids next Saturday and have some last minute things to finish up. Well...I found my roll of 25 yards of teal colored tulle at Hobby Lobby last night for $4.99! My step mom is going to sew it to the underskirt of my daughters dress for a little pop of color on her dress. They also carry in stock silver cake plateaus. They are just what I need so when I get a 40% coupon I know where to go! I am not sure of the exact dimensions, but they were round and would hold a cake from the resort just fine! They were $49.99 I found some cute little cups for the three little boys going to our wedding. I know - I'll have to post pics! Other than that - no wedding news for me! Have a great weekend girls and Steph - be careful and don't over exert yourself.

Have a wonderful birthday!

The rise of C-Sections and its risks. (Information on C-Sections)

The rise of C-Sections and its risks. (Information on C-Sections)

And if a woman chooses to have an elective c-section its her body and her choice I don't really think those should count in this discussion. I had a friend who just had a scheduled c-section because as a petite woman it was discovered that at 41 weeks she was not dialating AT ALL and her baby was almost 10lbs, for the safety of the baby they didn't even bother inducing her instead just scheduled a c-section. She was a big pro-natural birth advocate and didn't even want any drugs, however when faced with the prospect of being pregnant any longer or putting her baby at risk because after 40 weeks your placenta does not work properly anymore, she chose the c-section. I really don't know what Dr's are not informing their patients about the risks, however I also believe its a patients responsibility to ask questions and do what is best for them, I mean honestly its your life and your child's life. Sounds very similar to my 2nd pregnancy...... I didn't get a chance to read this thread earlier but wanted to put my 2 cents in. With my first child I was in labor for 10 hours, had her with some meds - I say SOME because I still felt pain, but all in all I dialated from 5 to 10 in a matter of minutes and 3 pushes and she was out. My second child - a WHOLE other story! I was a week overdue and was in labor for 32 hours. I don't wish that pain on anyone! Imagine not being able to eat anything but ice chips for 32 hours. The air was so dry, my nose got so dry and stuffy I could hardly breathe. After 3 - yes 3 failed attempts at an epidural the doctor finally determined that the baby was in distress and they had to do a C-section. The contractions were one on top of the other - I couldn't catch my breath from one when the next one came. For some reason, my body just would not dialate. Keep in mind I was deadset against a C Section. So after being taken into the OR to do the C Section - I was given a shot to numb me from the waist down - It didn't work either...I could still feel the doctor pinching my skin! I had to be put under for them to deliver my son. Thankfully he was a healthy 9lbs 10 oz baby boy! In my circumstances, it was absolutely necessary. I was told after that my placenta just quit doing its job. (sorry TMI) Sometimes you have to do what you have to do and until that time comes, you can't truly say what you will do. My stupid sister for instance, kept having kids even when her doctor told her that he could not continue to deliver via c section because of the scar tissue. She has three kids and with the last one, had it scheduled ...hold on...this is the epitamy of stupidness....to have her husband, son and the new babys birthdates all two days apart! She is a freaking idiot! She had her scheduled c-section and ended up with a child whose esophagus was not fully formed and had some SERIOUS digestive issues! Her daughter was on 7 different meds for acid reflux and she wasn't even 6 months old. Her child who is now almost 10 years old has speech and learning disabilities. Our oldest kids are 6 months apart and people think they are an easy 2 years apart by the way each one talks, reasons and looks. (her daughter on the young end of the stick) - hope that makes sense! All I can say is to each his own! -
How many guests are you having?

You may not be able to vent to FI, but I would drop some subltle lines to them directly. They should know better, you would think they would be happy to attend their sons/brothers wedding for his sake, not to get a free trip out of it. TOTALLY AGREE here too! If they aren't contributing SOMEHOW-SOMEWAY I would be Pissed! Dang Dez - this is jacked up! It's a double edged sword - on one hand you want to help make sure your FI has a great day with his family there - however on the other hand it is a HUGE expense - so much that you are getting a 2nd job. They better be appreciative. You are a saint in my book!

I have a party about once a year. With the economy right now, I wouldn't suggest it. My friend who is a consultant, she isn't doing so well. I think for most people candles are a luxury and buying them isn't a priority right now. They do have good products and I love them, but would reconsider being a consultant.

Okay - we watched it! I thought it was pretty convincing! That ghost was really trying to come through. I couldn't imagine having a ghost in my home. Could you imagine sitting at the kitchen table talking to a ghost and telling it you want it to leave? The girl seemed to take it with a grain of salt.

He also got me a sound spa (with soothing sounds, rain, tropical, etc) which has been a lifesaver. Next shot scheduled for June 4. Oh Honey - I am SO sorry! I know how it feels. I am so sorry this is going on. Can you take Vicodin? I didn't know with your job...but it is the ONLY thing that takes that pain away where I can actually move and feel better. I keep a full prescription just in case. I don't wish that pain on anyone - well...maybe some people like my worst enemies, etc. Quote: Originally Posted by DanielleNDerek I also got my ring bearer's outfit. I ended up getting thinner ribbon in both the green and pink color to tie around the invite once it is folded closed. I couldn't get the big ribbon to stop fraying. http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t17645-4 I remember these too! Very very pretty!

Hi there to my 2nd date twin! I am so sorry she bailed on you. Sometimes people dont know how to tell you things and find it easier to do it in writing versus face to face. It was probably very hard for her to do and she probably couldn't muster up the courage to do it face to face. I'm sure she probably just found it easier for her to say it this way. I know it hurts, but at least she told you now instead of waiting till the last minute or avoiding your calls altogether. I would let her go on and help plan your other wedding related events. If she wants to be involved in some way, it would be more damaging to your relationship with her to tell her no, than to let her do what she can. Who knows, maybe she'll get excited about it and reconsider once she sees how much she is missing out on. Take care! ~Celina

They are a little different than all of the others. They came out really nice. I like the way the info stacks on one side and it gives everyone information about everything. Great job! You are making me reconsider my invite choice! There is so much information to include - your invites really put it all together nicely. Grat job!
