  1. They look fantastic! I did this too and it saved me a ton of money For anyone in the Philly area, go down to Beadworks (2nd St. just south of South St.). You put together the design, string it, and then they'll put the clasps and stuff on for you! Super easy and way cheaper than buying premade.
  2. I was worried about the iron-on as I'm really not someone who irons - but it was super easy! Just set the iron to no steam, print the iron-ons mirrored, cut out close to the logo lines and iron for 20 seconds in each area. It took about a minute per bag to iron - mostly because I was neurotic about making sure the thing stuck. I'm not sure what the exact dimensions of our logo was. I enlarged it to the point where I could print 2 on one sheet. Probably about 4.5-5" in diameter. You can also practice on a tee-shirt if you're worried. We did an iron-on tee and its also washable.
  3. Have you thought about using an iron-on transfer instead of screenprinting? I used the same bags, and they were super easy to iron-on. We were able to get 2 logos out of each transfer sheet, so it was about 50 cents per logo! Most of our guests just held the bags by their handles, which was fine. Ladies could definitely through the bag over their shoulders though. We had towels to fill the bags up, along with the smaller stuff. You could use tissue paper to bulk them out. Here's a pic of our filled bags:
  4. The 20th works for me. Or the 27th - we'll be moving (yipee!) beginning of the month, so later is better. I'm working the Saturdays of both those weekends, so Sunday is perfect!
  5. He proposed on my b-day at about 1 year 3 months and we were married 7 months later We both kissed enough frogs to know when it was right.

If not, it wasn't the house for you and there will be another.
  7. Kelly - have you tried going to Beadworks? I know they have them (along with about 1 million other beads!). They are in Center City - on 2nd just south of South St. Beads, Gemstones, Lampwork Glass, Pearls by Beadworks I don't know if they sell them online though...
  8. We had fans and rose petals in bags on every chair. We had 18 guests, so about the same number. I think for a smaller wedding, a program really isn't necessary. Like Michelle said, just put that info in your welcome letter in the OOT bag or something. As for the moms and aunt, I think I would have them seated. The procession doesn't need to be half of your wedding... You could do something to incorporate them though. I think its cool when the bride has 2 flowers from her bouquet that are removable... as you walk down the aisle, you give one flower to each mother.
  9. to the forum! I wasn't at the Riu, but Negril is beautiful! Most of us have had the experience that once you get there, your WC kicks into gear. Try not to stress! You must be so excited that your wedding is almost here!
  10. There were definitely times that I wanted to run away and elope, but I wouldn't trade anything in the world for my DW! It was wonderful, and all of my guests had a fantastic time. I also was at a less known location, but the ideas, inspiration, and issues from BDW translate regardless of locale. As others have said, don't sweat the small stuff... your guests will never miss the project you just didn't get to. Your wedding will be beautiful, and the most important people will be there... you and your fiance. About a month before my wedding, I literally said "screw it" to ANYTHING that stressed me out. Oh... and I'm sure your FI will relax a little after the match, so hold on just a little longer

We can have a champagne toast at our AHR I figure. You could do a rum punch or sorrel toast
  12. Great idea! I think your guests will love it! I also think champagne glasses would be really cute, but the only concern I would have is about ice. I really like margaritas on the rocks, so it would seem weird without ice. Maybe they could make smaller ice cubes for you... tumblers or mini-margarita glasses would also be cute!
  13. You're almost done, and I'm sure it will be a fantastic party! Try to take a breath and relax As with everything else, I'm sure it will be perfect and if it isn't EXACTLY what you had in mind, you are the only who will know. Your guests will think it is beautiful and perfect!
  14. I think I would have them wear the same thing as they did in Jamaica... can you ask FFIL not to wear a tux? I think your guests will appreciate that everyone is wearing what they did in the pics, and the weather will certainly be great for the light attire.
  15. Counter is definitely a good sign! Good luck and keep us posted!
  16. Heidi - I so feel your pain. Sam and I have been living in a 600 sf apt for the past year with our dog and 2 cats. We went through the ups and downs of looking for about 5 months until we finally found a place that worked. I'm sure you've already talked to a mortgage broker, but FHA was totally the way to go for us. You only need 3% down, and the rates for us are better than a conventional mortgage would've been. The market is great for buyers right now, and because of that, we were able to negotiate the house we wanted for $55k less than its original asking price! The right house will come along, so please don't get discouraged. And as others have said, if you can find something with great bones, go for it! It will be a great investment with some sweat equity

  18. I think Catherine - LadyP - did this... if she doesn't chime in, PM her
  19. Lizz - I was going to suggest the florist I used, but if you think you're going to stress about flowers, go with the parasols! They will be absolutely beautiful! My florist had great flowers, but I didn't have them do the arrangements so I couldn't give a full on recommendation on that front. No worries - the parasols will be fantastic and I love it as a different twist for a DW
  20. Totally depends on what kind of dancing you're planning for, but we had people dancing right on the beach... our reception was on an outdoor patio, and we all started dancing there. But, by the end of the night, our entire crew was out on the beach dancing in front of the band! We all had a blast The beach where we were was a little more solid than a fine sand though, so that probably played a part in it.
  21. I wore a fingertip length veil for my wedding, but in retrospect, I almost wish I hadn't. It was an extremely windy day, and the wind was blowing towards my DH during the ceremony... meaning almost all of my wedding pics have my face covered by the veil! I should have thought of it on the wedding day, but didn't. I loved the veil, and it looked very cool in some of the pics, but thought I'd pass my experience on
  22. Good luck!!! Hope you hear soon... the waiting is always the hard part Having just gone through it, I feel your pain but hope you had the same luck we did!
  23. Maggiano's has awesome food! I don't know if they validate parking though... there is a garage closeby though. We could definitely keep it on the list of places. I think we're still working on when to get together.
  24. And apparently words need to go with a smiley or your post is too short...
