My e-ring isn't going to match anything properly (custom made ring), but looks nice with a very thin eternity band. I do want to keep wearing it though - so I would just get it resized for my right hand. Only problem is I got a promise ring before the e-ring, and I currently wear that on the right hand. I love that ring. I could have it reworked into a necklace - his idea actually. I haven't decided if the posey rings look sort of like something I would've worn in high school though. I really like that they're cast from the originals, most of which are in museums. And I think its very cool to have matching rings. We of course could just get matching bands, but I want something a little different...
  2. So my fiance says I'm really good at narrowing things down to 2 options, and they are usually totally different styles... In that spirit, we've been looking at wedding bands, and have been considering getting matching bands. The alternative is that he wants a thick tungsten band, and I'd get a delicate eternity. We've been looking at posey bands if we decided to do matching. I'd end up moving my e-ring to my right hand. I really like the history to them, and think it would be nice to have matching bands. They're also unique and different, which is cool. Check 'em out... Poesy Rings, Promise Rings, Renaissance Wedding Rings
  3. Are you guys planning on packing everything? Or are your wedding coordinators helping you find stuff in your destinations? It seems like we're already bringing a lot down for OOT bags, and I'm not sure how we'd get glass hurricanes or bowls down? I considered buying stuff in Jamaica, but I'm a little worried we wouldn't find what we wanted. What are you all doing?
  4. At what point is the sand ceremony done? After rings but before wedding blessing and pronouncement?
  5. Wow, I guess we got lucky... you guys are talking about flying out of Philly, right? When we first started, airfare was $440 on US Air. We waited a few weeks, and it dropped to $355 (including all taxes) to Montego Bay. The one thing I would say is that flying out of Philly international is a pain on US Air. They don't skycap checkin for international, and the line is insane. When we booked our tickets we had to do it at the airport b/c we had travel vouchers from a refund for a previous trip. They don't actually have a ticketing agent line. We had to stand in the international departures checkin, and it took almost 2 hours to get through the line! If the price hadn't been so much better and if we didn't have $200 in vouchers, I would've flown Air Jamaica... In the end I can't totally complain, because we got bumped up to first class for free (woohoo!). We asked for a manager because after the 2 hour wait, they still couldn't figure out how to book us with the travel vouchers! His resolution (because we were fuming at this point) was to upgrade us. I've never flown first class, so that's cool.
  6. I think I'm going to go back again and check my coloring in #2. The salesgirl will probably kill me if I don't purchase on this trip, since the last time I was there, I put each on about 5 times (and it was my 2nd trip). My mom was with me this past trip and was leaning towards #2 for practicality on the beach b/c the fabric is so light. That being said, she's now back to #1. Right now, I think I'm going to get #1. I love #2, but while it'll look great on the beach, it doesn't feel quite as "I'm getting married!" to me. Does that make sense
  7. Thanks for the welcome! We're getting married in Little Bay, which is about 10 miles outside of Negril. Its a small resort named Coral Cove. We fell in love with it because its very small and intimate... only 13 rooms total. We have 22 people coming, which means we pretty much have the place to ourselves. Its also an all inclusive, and VERY reasonably priced, which made it easier for a lot of our guests. We're really excited, and the wedding planner they provide has been great so far! As for Philly, we're in Center City...
  8. MluvsB - I'm so happy to hear that Diana is good! We're getting married about 10 miles outside of Negril, and our resort uses her. We weren't really given an option on the photographer, so hearing that she's great is definitely a relief! Thanks!
  9. I'm totally torn... #1 is more classic and white, and is really flattering, and a little easier to walk in. On the other hand, it has a built in bra-back to keep it in place, which will be hot on the beach. #2 will probably be more comfortable, and I love the material, which is a funky off-white metallic. It's definitely more beachy. It's also less expensive. That being said, my fiance is wearing a tux... and I think #1 will look better with that. Keep the votes coming!
  10. Hey everyone! I'm new on the boards, but have been lurking for a few weeks... I'm getting married in Jamaica in January (woohoo!) - have the location, about 20 guests, and am down to 2 dresses... The model pictures don't do either dress justice, but they wouldn't let me take pics until I bought. Which of these do you think I should pick? I love them both and just can't decide! #1 Nicole Miller #2 Nicole Miller Can't wait to hear what other destination brides think!
  11. Hi All, Just wanted to say hello and introduce myself! My fiance and I are currently planning our wedding in Jamaica for January 2008. Very excited! - Hopels
