  1. Those are awesome! I may try to do this and use them on our tables as decoration... If you try to DIY it, let us know how it goes! Time consuming, but what a cool addition!

Sam and I are going to Sunset at the Palms for part of our honeymoon! I swear he wants to go for the shower though (big enough for 2 with 6 shower heads). We were really torn about the Rockhouse (gorgeous!), but decided to spend the rest of our week at The Caves which is a little more expensive. If you decide to look at Negril, let me know! I think we went through every website about a million times...
  4. Thanks everyone! I'm really excited about it It was a sample, so they need to repair some of the beading, but promised it will be perfect. I had really wanted a corset back, so they are putting one in, which actually works out really well, because if I lose weight, it won't really need to be altered. Not to mention that if I had wanted to order it, I would NOT have been able to afford it. I probably never would have tried it on... funny how life works.
  5. The knot just had a big sale on wedding cameras - I think they're $3.79 a piece! Cheap Wedding Favors - Cheap Personalized Wedding Favors - Cheap Wedding Favor Ideas)
  6. So I thought I'd see what everyone is planning for their honeymoons... I know a lot of you are staying in Jamaica after your wedding, so I was wondering where people were going. We're spending an extra week in Negril, split between the beach and the cliffs. First stop is going to be Sunset at the Palms, and then we're off to The Caves! What are you all doing?
  7. Not to hijack this thread, but if anyone is thinking about Celtic wedding rings, here are a few sites I came across that really had a great selection... Celtic Wedding Rings: affordable Celtic jewelry & rings - gold & platinum by deSignet celtic wedding rings Hope it helps!
  8. Needless to say starting over again was a great idea... I had 4 appointments, and the first dress I tried on at the second store was IT! I'm so-oo happy!! It was a sample, and they are putting a corset back in, so the pics don't really do it justice... but I love it! They even had a veil that completely matched!

Has anyone seen those type of rings in actual stores? We saw a few in the stores in Philly. Sam is Irish and we're considering these as well as the posey rings. The selection was MUCH better online. I have a few sites that were really cool saved on my home computer - I will post them later (not on my computer right now). For online, I would say to order as early as you decide what you want. Most of the sites we found would do return/exchange if the sizing wasn't right or you didn't like it. If you order early, you'll have time to do that without stress, especially since most Celtic bands can't be sized. For in store, we were told MAX of 8-10 weeks, though usually much earlier. We were also told that most stores got new styles of everything in September. Hope that helps!
  10. I gave my mom her invite last night (the rest go out in a few months), and her initial reaction was to yell at me for spending so much money to buy fancy invitations - lol. She couldn't believe I made them!
  11. Ok, so this is my first DIY. I'm not done with all of them, but once we got all the supplies, they are pretty easy to do! Finished product (Updated) We used resume weight parchment paper, and burned the edges with a candle. The parchment is great because it burns slowly, so you aren't dealing with your invites going up in smoke immediately! The labels were also printed at home and burned, but they burn a lot quicker, so be careful! We punched a hole in the top of the paper to thread our bead decoration through, and to ease removal of the scroll from the bottle. I bought some coconut scented oil (like for burning to scent your house) and put a few drops on the flowers and under the cork. You can definitely smell it when you pull the scroll out. We put a few small shells and flowers from the craft store in the bottle for decoration, and voila! I haven't finished them all, but I'm really psyched about how the first few came out!

ANnie One of the stores I'm going to has the Dessy line, which is awesome. I think some of them may be a bit too slinky for me, but I'm really excited and think I'll definitely find something on this trip!
  13. I had thought that I was done, found my dress, and then got cold feet about it. So I am restarting the process again today! My mom made me a bunch of appointments by her house, and I'm really excited she'll get to be with me this time! I'm bringing my camera, so if I can figure out how, I'll post pics later this weekend Wish me luck!

  15. It's your wedding day... period. If people aren't happy that you've chosen to invite them to a beautiful place to have a great vacation, then they can stay at home! I second the "one less mouth to feed" attitude - lol.

Do you know what price point bijou is in? General idea would be great if you know I just don't want to end up in any high-end couture stores.
  17. Any North Jersey girls out there who can recommend a bridal shop? I'm visiting my mom this weekend in Lyndhurst/Fort Lee and wanted to go dress shopping with her. I just don't know where...
  18. Ok... after all the hype, I got cold feet about the dress. I was totally set to buy #1, with the discount, and started rethinking it. I'm going to visit my mom this weekend and wanted to check out bridal shops in North Jersey before making the final call (besides, she hasn't really gotten to look with me!). Unfortunately, they wouldn't extend the unadvertised discount, so if I do get the dress, it won't be from that shop. We'll see...
  19. We're getting married in Jamaica, and we're having Choc and Vanilla layers, with Rum Cream in the middle and buttercream - yum! Anyone get a cake without fondant? We didn't want anything fancy, but I don't think I've seen a lot of pictures with just buttercream...
  20. I agree - have your sister ask him, that way it's not coming from you =)

  22. Anyone recently found a site that sells fans that are actually in stock? I did a quick google search, and everyone seems to be out of stock...
  23. Thanks to everyone for the responses! I'm going back today or tomorrow to choose. I'm having pangs of guilt, because both dresses cost more than I was planning on spending. I may hit David's Bridal again before ordering the Nicole Miller They offered me a discount, but only until tomorrow, so I need to decide.
