  1. So I want to order the flip flop cards from OTC, and was looking for other things to order from them... Their site is so extensive, it was hard to look through. What else have you guys bought from them? Yes, I'm being a lazy butt, I know.
  2. Hmmm... most italian dishes freeze well (stuffed shells, eggplant rolatini). You could just make a big thing of homemade meat sauce to go with some quick to make pasta. Soups are a great idea and pretty easy to make. If they like Mexican, you could freeze a tray of enchiladas or smothered burritos to go in the oven. I know I can think of more...
  3. Try not to stress, just focus on getting well! 7 weeks is plenty of time to get stuff done, just focus on one thing at a time, and ask for help if you need it! What do you still need to work on? Can we help with anything? I'm in Philly... we could have a big crafting day in the area
  4. Our wedding isn't for 6 months, but Jamaica looks like it may be a world of trouble! Dean is supposed to be Category 4 by the time it hits Jamaica!!!
  5. After Bite is great! I've been using it my entire life, and if you catch a bugbite quick enough, it will never swell up or get itchy! We are buying this from drugstore.com in the 2 packs, which makes it super cheap in a 1/couple way. I highly recommend it!
  6. Has anyone ever shipped USPS? The rates are much cheaper, but I'm worried the stuff may never get there...
  7. Welcome Becky!!! Always good to have another Jamaica bride-to-be!!!

When burning, they will release a pleasant odor to people but one that is highly repellent to pests. They will burn slowly and generally will last 2 or more hours per coil. TARGET PESTS: Mosquitoes, No-Seeums, gnats and biting flies. WHERE TO USE IT: Around decks, patios and other areas where you want to help minimize nuisance flying insects. RATE OF APPLICATION: Try to place one every 10 feet around the area or areas you want to protect. Duh - should've said what they were! We found them at REI really cheap, and they burn for about 6 hours - which is perfect at night if you want to sleep with the sound of the ocean. We got a bunch for us and for our guests!
  9. We aren't done with our OOT bags yet, but one of the things we're including is After Bite and mosquito coils. The mosquito coils are $1.95 for a 10 pack, so we are using 1 box/room. The After Bite, which stops mosquito bites from swelling up, is available on drugstore.com Online Pharmacy - Prescription Drugs, Health and Beauty, plus more in a 2 pack for $4.99. This stuff is great and I highly recommend it! Beyond that, we are doing all the usual stuff...
  10. They seem to have a lot of great stuff, but they have A LOT of stuff. It definitely took some time to go through the site to get a feel for everything they have!
  11. Both sites look great! Let us know how the pics look when you get them in starchild!
  12. My dress is a sample, and it was over 50% off the original price. They are cleaning it and replacing any missing crystals, which was all included in my alterations price! I didn't go to any trunk shows, but if you can find a sample you love, you will probably get a great deal!

  18. Hey ladies... a lot of us are in the Philly area, so I thought I'd let you guys know that the BCBG store in Franklin Mills is having a huge sale. All of their summer dresses and clothes are 30-50% off the already reduced outlet prices!! I found a couple of really cute white dresses for my wedding week, and some awesome tops. They told me they were getting more in over the next 1-2 weeks, also summer stuff, so check it out if you get a chance!
  19. That dress is gorgeous!!! If its the dress you love, I wouldn't worry about it... my dress is satin, but its a silk duchess satin, which is a little lighter than a lot of the satin dresses I tried on. Enjoy and congrats on finding a great dress!

Quote: I actually had ordered all the stuff to do these and the day I got my shipment, I received a message in the bottle invitation for a 30th birthday party!!!! there went that idea, since all our friends had already seen it and I returned all the stuff... Sorry to hear that! I think they are such a great idea for a DW. I'd never heard of doing something like this until I started searching invites... your starfish invites are going to look awesome though! I can't wait to see them!
  21. Good knives tend to be expensive unfortunately. The really good brands (Wusthof, Henckels, Shun) are about $50-$120 per knife in open stock. When looking at the different brands, remember that they have high, medium and low versions - talk to a salesperson. Calphalon makes a decent set of knives in a slightly lower price range. I think their set is about $200, and they sell some additions in open stock for $15-$40. Most brands sell their knife block seperately as well as part of a set. If you do go for an open stock, you could consider using a universal Kapoosh block Bed Bath & Beyond Product Hope that helps! If you go to any store like Bed Bath and Beyond, they should be able to show you the options and tell you the pros and cons
  22. Congratulations!!! Setting the date and place is one of the hardest parts of a DW... happy planning from this point on!!!
  23. We actually got the bottles from a local home-brewing store (for people who make beer and wine). They were very inexpensive there - about $1/bottle. If you have someplace like that in your area, definitely check them out. Otherwise, we found a few places online that sold the bottles... Message in a Bottle - Specialty Bottle Message in a Bottle Invitations Announcements Wholesale - Plastic Bottles and Glass Bottles with Corks and Mailing Boxes - eBottles If you order online, make sure you order the bottle mailers. We ordered the 'shoebox' size USPS.com boxes (free) and they are too large. I think we may order small vial size bottles for our placecards, so I'm going to order the mailers. Sand and shells were from the local craft store
  24. What a great thread Shelley! Thanks so much for starting this!!!
