  1. This site has some cool flip flops and jewelry. I did a search for starfish stuff and came up with this www.artisangemsboutique.com There are a lot of things on this site, just need to click through the different vendors... enjoy!

    Hola!

  5. We registered for our honeymoon at TheBigDay.com - we also booked our hotel for the honeymoon through them, which means they don't charge you a registry fee. They actually got us a great deal at the 2 hotels we picked out, much better than what the hotels were offering. If you decide to use them, and want to have them book for you, ask for Patti. She specializes in Jamaica and was REALLY helpful! We are also doing an in store registry at Bed Bath and Beyond, for those that don't feel comfortable with the honeymoon registry idea. That being said, we are having an AHR a month after the wedding. I really hope people will use our honeymoon registry though - we live together and really have everything we need!
  6. That's awful! I'm so sorry to hear that... Try not to get too upset until you find out all the details. I hope everything works out for you and try to stay positive!
  7. We paid a bit more for our bags, but we're getting beach towels and using 1 bag/couple, so we wanted something a bit bigger and heavier. They are actually really cool, and have 2 pockets in the front. We're going to put our logo on them. They were $5 a piece though. If we were having more people, it would've been too much. Here's the website Cool Totes
  8. I'm so happy for you! I can't imagine... you must be so excited! So as not to completely hijack the thread, I think keeping his wedding band a surprise is an awesome idea! If you think he may want to at least have some say, you could always take him to the jewelry store to try a few things on to get a feel for what width and style he wants... Sam and I may end up doing this That way he has some say in it, but you still get to surprise him!

I believe if you go through customs and they see if you have 2 much of the same thing they charge a fee because they think you are bringing it there with the intent to sell. I have heard this story but don't quote me!!! I think I saw that as well. We only have 20 guests, and I had read somewhere that if you bring a detailed list of your guests, what flights they are on, etc, if you get stopped by customs, they will let you through. We figure we can divide some stuff up, so that it won't all be in the same bags. Has anyone actually had trouble with customs?
  10. I think we're going to do a coral... We're going to hit Fabric Row (an entire street of fabric/ribbons/etc stores) later this week and find some new stuff. Of course it means we need to redo labels for our invites and some other stuff, but so be it. I love my FI! He called the resort today to speak to the owner and get a real sense for the flowers. We had planned to use flowers from the property, which are included in our package, and my mom's boyfriend is a florist so he was going to do my bouquet. The guy said they definitely have corals, but that not all the flowers are in bloom in January. He said that if we can't find something we can work with, they have a florist who is awesome and can get any flowers we want! Stress level returning to normal...

We were just looking to see if there was an easier way than distributing stuff, since my mom doesn't live near us, and she's the only one coming down before the guests arrive...
  12. Ok, scratch that idea... I just checked shipping rates to Jamaica, and 10lbs was about $160. It would be cheaper to pay the airline overweight fees if we have too much...

So its great we can ship right to there house. Have you shipped stuff before? Have you had any problems with customs and such? I think my WC or resort (which is small) wouldn't mind if we shipped stuff, but I'm worried about it actually getting there...
  14. Anyone shipping down supplies and OOT bag stuff? I've heard horror stories about stuff getting lost in customs, but we have so much to bring down, I thought it might be an option. Has anyone done this or thinking of doing this?

  16. Hmmmm... just looked at it, doesn't say though. We bought the colored stuff from the scrapbooking area of our crafts store. Granted, I haven't tried it out yet, but I think it will work fine. If I had to guess, I'd say maybe 65lb? Like the resume cover stuff. Not sure though...
  17. Welcome!!! This place is full of great ideas and packed with information! Let us know what you need help with

  19. I'm not trying to make everything match exactly, in fact we have abut 3 different shades of blue that we're working with, but the peach just isn't working. Finding stuff even in the right shades has been hard. I think I'm just also upset that I bought a bunch of stuff, and had already printed the labels for my message in a bottle invites. They are in peach, and if I change, I'll have to do them over. On the flip side, I haven't put them on the bottles yet. I'm just happy I realized this now, because I was planning on ordering my beach towels last week, and the logo we're using is going to have to change color...
  20. Those are great! Expensive, but very cool! You find so many cool things
  21. Ok, I think I just had my first (and hopefully last) wedding meltdown... I'm totally freaking about colors... yes, I realize this is probably ridiculous, but we had chosen a peach and aqua with silver accents. We're using flowers from the resort, and I'm worried they won't have anything for my bouquet in peach tones. I keep trying to get a straight answer on the colors and types of flowers that grow there, and I'm getting don't worry be happy answers from my wedding coordinator. Also, I started working with the ribbon I had bought to do raffia fans, and they just look blah. I'm thinking I need to go with a more deep coral color with a darker turquoise (instead of aqua), but couldn't find anything that worked in my local crafts store. Sam was with me, and since he thinks peach is actually pink, he just wasn't helping. Thoughts?
